We had brunch. The seafood was good but extremely small portions and very expensive. Eat your meal somewhere else but come here for the bread pudding.

The food was amazing! I could have eaten 100 of the Peruvian scallops. The food came out quickly and the staff was very attentive. The crab cake had just the right of lemon and was so moist. The waiter suggested this wine from Hungary that was outstanding. Definitely make a reservation because space is at a premium. I wouldn’t recommend this place for parties bigger than 4 people only because the establishment is decently small.

My fiancé and I left happy and satisfied. 10/10 would go again.

Really nice servers and staff. My fish was slightly undercooked; they took it back, made me a new one and then did not charge us for it. I did not expect that at all! Just an extra minute would have done the job.
And the food, every single bite was delicious.
My friend and I will definitely go back!!!! It really could not have been better except maybe the seating. Its a small noisy space, you wouldn't go for the atmosphere.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Every bite is more delicious than the next. The cocktails are creative without being over the top. The raw bar is to die for. If you love seafood, a lively atmosphere, and a killer soundtrack, Fishing with Dynamite is for you!

Hands down my favorite in the South Bay and of Chef Lefavres restaurants. Always the pick for our family special occasions. Love the staff and Ken begins the bar. I always order mostly the same, but then try something new and am never disappointed. Squash roles and Peruvian scallops are a must for me. Tried the fried chicken sandwich this time and it was so good. Thank you, FWD!!

I have visited several times, but this visit wasn’t great. Our food was really delayed and came out in a very random order (e.g. we had French fries as our last course because they came out so late). They had a new Octopus dish on the menu. It was flavorful, but really over cooked and chewy. Seafood was good, drinks were good. It was over just good, not great.

The seafood platters here are amazing - so good that although the "SS Minnow" which has oyesters, clams, shrimp, mussels and lobsters is recommended up to 2 people, I easily finished it by myself and wanted more!

The cocktails are amazing here as well - the bartender made an amazing "Be Water My Friend" with delicious rum and other refreshing ingredients. I could eat here daily! Also a huge fan of the clam chowder, hamachi, and tuna tataki.

Wow! First time here and we loved it! Lovely location not exactly on the beach (one block away), but views from certain tables of the beach and ocean. Food was absolutely delicious. The squash rolls are out of this world tasty. I hope they keep those as a signature menu item! Our server was on point the entire time, along with other staff walking around and tending to tables by filling water glasses, clearing and cleaning our table, etc. Cute place. Although it is small and tables are close, it is worth the high quality food and service experience. We had lunch. We shared the Little Gems Salad, Fish and Chips, Squash rolls, and Key Lime pie. Excellent all around! Highly recommend.

Scenic Spot to dine with a foodie friend

We drove [forever] to meet a good friend visiting from the East Coast (Boston). She was delighted with the view of the ocean at sunset (we sat by the windows). She's a foodie, so she'd heard of the restaurant. We enjoyed stupendous tomato and tonnato toast, with delicious golden ripe tomatoes (local) and a tuna spread. My husband had the best clam chowder I've ever had, with a wonderful bacony flavor, real clams in shells, delicious broth, rich but not too creamy (not like melted cheese). We loved the crab cakes as well. We also enjoyed a raw fish with a ponzu sauce. Alas, some raw tuna seemed too salty and the texture made it seem slightly cured, but they insisted on giving us a delicious key lime pie dessert on the house to make up for our disappointment. What a meringue on top of that yummy pie! The fries were good but I wouldn't waste time on them - we didn't find them outstanding.
It's loud - turned out not to be an easy place to talk - but the food made it worth it.

The food is absolutely fabulous and the staff is eager to please, friendly and attentive! It’s one of our top 5 restaurants in Southern California and we started going here the first month it was in business. It’s definitely a neiborhood gem!!

This is a wonderful unique restaurant and would recommend to anyone. The only down side to be aware of, and that is only if noise / commotion bothers you, it's small and tables are packed in. It can be very noisy. Personally, I like the action and certainly wasn't too loud to visit with my guests. You may want to think twice though if you are bringing your great grand parents. This was my third visit and will be back.

It is so loud in there that I couldn’t hear the waiter! Why? Even after they turned the music down a tiny bit. Couldn’t wait to get out. Is that what you’re trying to do? Get people out to get more in? Ruins the entire dining experience.

The wonderful staff at FWD really made my son and daughter in law’s honeymoon special. Originally, scheduled to go to Charleston, SC, for their honeymoon, my son and his bride had to make a very last minute change due to the unfortunate arrival of Hurricane Florence on the east coast.

They had the good fortune to have MB as a plan B. I called FWD to explain the situation and the staff was excited to have the opportunity to make the first night out special for the newlyweds. I gave FWD my payment information so that my husband and I could treat the couple. From the champagne start to their meal to the end, it was perfect.

My daughter in law texted me the next day and said it was a highlight of their trip! So thanks FWD for making me look good to my new daughter in law!! You guys are the best!

I like the restaurant but your name is offensive to anyone who cares about the ocean environment. If you changed it , I would be a regular but I feel like a traitor to my values and I know other people who feel the same and we are not crazies. I only came because it was a special occasion for someone who wanted to go. I could not recommend you restaurant because of your name.
