Ruffino’s on the River Ratings and Reviews
It was an overall good experience. My only thoughts are there are too many people
waiting on you. LOL Three people is two too many. Also, lots of time lapse between
food person coming back to check on us for appetizers, entrees and finally bringing the
Always has been a top favorite!!! My family and I dined in Tuesday evening to celebrate mom & dad's 37th Wedding Anniversary! We were treated with respect, celebration, and the utmost service! It was a delight to us all, we laughed a ton, and everyone's food was delicious!!!! Overall A+ experience
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Lafayette. We had requested a patio table for brunch. There was live music on the patio and it was so loud we had to transfer inside. We saw another table request to change to a table inside due to the music. Even the wait staff said it is always loud. Think it would be much more pleasant if they would turn down the speakers and only have instrumentals instead of a vocalist. Very hard to carry on a conversation if seated at a table outside. We were very disappointed.
Blah food for way too much money. Service is just ok. I had a $50 gift card and still left with a $70 bill. Ordered shrimp Alfredo and the shrimp were very over cooked and rubbery. Lemon drop martini was decent, but not the best I’ve had. Plus, they have zero beer on tap, because according to the waiter they care more about wine.
Too loud for a business meeting, food is mediocre for the price, The price is just due to location do not expect to be blown away by taste. Live music on a self procliamed fine dining restaurant!? Oh and my customer got ill , and he claims is all he ate all day. Not good , will not be back.
The appetizers were delicious, the main courses were disappointing and way overpriced. We enjoyed a bottle of Proseco, and the bottle of Italian red wine, and appreciated the wide range of price points on the wine list.
*Wood Oven Roasted Oysters and the *Heirloom Tomato with Burrata Cheese appetizers.
*The Corn and Crabmeat Bisque.
Do not recommend:
-The Red Fish was not served as described on the menu. Also, the daily special fish (Mahi), both, way overpriced at $34.95!
-The Chicken Marsala, which was like a brown gravy (drowning the angel hair -Capellini- pasta underneath). Nowhere was the slightly sweet smoky flavor of Marsala wine. Call it something else. And for $19.95?!
-Chicken Parmesan way overpriced for a very underwhelming chicken breast with melted cheese for $18.95?! Tobasco helped.
12 year anniversary. I was able to book the reservation roughly 6 weeks ahead. Very nice staff and attentive service. Food was reasonably priced considering the service and quality. The wife was very pleased ......until near the end, haha. She noticed someone else had received a "Happy Anniversary" dish and cotton candy.....It bothered her enough that she inquired about it at the front while waiting for me to wash-up on the way out. Turns out that our main waiter (there seems to be 3 or 4 ) dropped the ball. All in all it was nice.
Just a great top drawer restaurant; often take folks from out of town when here for court and they are always impressed. Great appetizers, great drinks, great meals, great desserts. Awesome that they have separate servers for drinks and meals who coordinate. Excellent place with great ambiance.
My husband and I took my nephews for a celebration dinner on Valentines night. We had the three course set menu. The crab cheesecake was to die for and the seared tuna and pork cheeks were also delicious. The shrimp corndogs were ok. Fish Katie and pork chops were wonderful, lasagna was rather disappointing. Satsuma mules were a nice take on the traditional Moscow mule. Wine list was a little heavy on higher priced options, but we found a nice wine for under $50. Tiramisu was one of the best I've had and cotton candy was a nice surprise. Overall, a good experience and we will return.
Excellent service at every level. We were seated under an A/c vent which got
cold, but staff quickly responded. Presence of HD TV screens was
unexpected and distracting....if you want a quiet, romantic table, another room would
have to be used. They're trying to satisfy a lot of preferences, it would appear, so
ask for what you want and chances are they have the perfect table
We went for my wife's birthday and it was fabulous. I had the Butter Steak and my wife had the filet. Both were perfect. The manager on duty, Greg, was very accommodating and the wait staff was second to none. I highly recommend Ruffinos and the butter steak. Oh, the brownie and bread pudding were second to none.
We ordered the 16 ounce rib eye. Had it in the past. Was over cooked and not more than12 ounces. Were very quick to bring a new one out. Was at most 10 ounces but cooked perfect. Was disappointed after paying that priced to be shorted. As my husband has worked as a meat cutter he was very aware of the size difference in the steak
The food and service were great. Only disappointment was the seating. For a special occasion, we would have preferred not to sit between two large tables. Remember when large groups of 6 or more are seated together, each guest as they arrive stands at the table next to them to greet their friends which made us feel awkward. No big issue, we’ve been married a long time with lots of children and grandchildren.
Although we had a great experience, the area we were seated in was way too crowded. When I was going to be seated (near the bar) there were people, possibly previous guests, sitting at the table I reserved. The bar area should only have those sitting in the bar area and all other guests should have possibly another designated area to either wait or socialize. People were bumping into our table as well. Once it cleared out, the rest of our night was great. Food and service was excellent as well as drinks.
Special group of girlfriends celebrating a birthday this night. Wait staff was attentive, but they always seems to be rushing around in a bit of a frenzy! Soup/salad good as usual and the fish entree was very good but also quite pricey ($36). Not an inexpensive evening, but always very dependable.
