A walk through the doors into the fabulous Frankie Bones Restaurant & Lounge takes you back to the carefree style of the early 1960s and t's restaurants in the big cities across America. Frankie Bones serves coveted American-Italian cuisine seven days a week and is located next to WiseGuys on Main Street on Hilton Head Island and off Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton. Lunch at Frankie Bones is about signature sandwiches, homemade soups, fresh seafood, crisp flatbreads, entrée salads, and premium pasta dishes. Always fresh and always fabulous! Can expect consistent quality and delicious meals and they also have early bird dinners from 3:30 to 5 pm. At this visit, Olivia was our server and the place was packed. A little shaky with delivery of the bread and drink order but proceeded smoothly the remainder of the dinner.

Usually I am 100% satisfied. However I was extremely disappointed this time. I ordered the Delmonico steak. I told the waitress, “I want medium rare, do I need to tell you rare?” She said, “no sir, our kitchen is great about getting it right!” So I said ok. My medium rare steak came out well to medium well. Very little light pink in some parts. The rest of the steak was like roast beef. You do not expect roast beef when you pay for rib eye. No I did not make a fuss, not how I was raised and I do not believe in wasting food. And I was with some special guests, so I did not want to make a scene. Just sad that they can’t get it right the first time.

The absolute BEST !! We have never had anything at either location that was not perfect ! We love going there and don’t mind the 1.5 hour drive at all !

(P.S. Always make a seating reservation a day or three ahead at their website link, walk-in’s were often place outdoors - not comfy in our Lowcountry Summer~ May-Oct). This was a special occasion and I insisted to my Birthday-gal that Frankie Bones was THE place to take her too. Its entrées & “vibe” is unique to our (once) little town, offering incredible & unique meals that our regular “special occasion” spots can’t match (same’ol-same’ol, menus rarely change). Our waitress (Kaylie?) was ever-present, always nearby and glancing my way (as if) to see if I needed anything - which I would give a “smile” of Satisfaction(!). (And of course would stop-by for a verbal check-in.) She picked the “SPINACH & ARTICHOKE DIP” appetizer, which was sinfully full of flavors I couldn’t name(!), and we gluttonously finished every bit of it; dip was a generous bowl. I chose one of the Special’s that day (not a menu item), which was a “Boneless Beef Rib” with a glaze that seemed infused in the beef’s marinate process; “delectable” doesn’t do it justice! My soulmate chose the CRAB CAKE DINNER from the Seafood section; originally from Maryland, we’re always trying to find something comparable to our back-home (MD) Blue Crab meal-options (this still could match Blue Crab, The cost was pricier than I am typically comfortable with; but as I expected from a handful of previous experiences over the years - it was worth every penny. (Several families with children under 12 had come in; unless you’re OK with $25-$40 per child, I would suggest having them snack before arriving - so they don’t try to push an Adult-sized menu choice on you.) Love it! Always a special treat!
