Good "foodie" dishes and great drinks. It can't decide if it's a bar or a restaurant--it's noisy and tables are tightly packed like a bar but the menu is more than grazing food. Part of the Del Rey "Culver west" scene. It's worth a visit.

We all really enjoyed our food. The Lobster/Shrimp pasta with black squid noodles is AMAZING! All of our dishes were delicious though. The Fish and Chips isn't heavy. The salad was very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails and wine. The service is great. Our server was so patient and friendly and made great menu suggestions. It is a little loud inside so if you're looking for intimate conversation then this might not be the spot for you.

Didnt love the food. Overall decent but nothing really stood out. Food in Culver City isn't great so relatively speaking this place was pretty good, but when compared to the rest of LA this place falls short. The menu looks so good, but the execution was so so.

I brought my (visiting) cousin here for her birthday. The drinks are pricey, in my opinion. The two food items we wanted to try they were out of. The avocado toast was delicious, but small for the price. The ambiance was great, with a decent sized bar. There are only a few tables outside so go earlier if you want a spot on the patio. We went at 7 and the place was pretty empty.

We went the The Corner Door to meet old friends on our last visit to LA. It's in a part of Culver City that is not the crazy, super busy part so it was easy to park. The best part is the sharable small or large plate menu. Everything we ordered was excellent. The fois gras/chicken liver terrine, the avocado toast, the salmon tartar, the cauliflower, and the fries carbonade, all scrumptious. I ordered a French 75 and later their white rioja from their extraordinary libations menu. We were served by a charming and deep voiced young man named Patrick who took excellent care of us. HIGHLY recommend!

The Corner Door is a hopping place. I took my parents there for a birthday dinner and we all loved the food. The sticky toffee pudding is to die! And the crispy brussel sprouts? So good. The place was super crowded though and felt more like a bar that also had a couple of tables and happened to serve food than a restaurant that happened to have a bar in it. The acoustics were not great either, so it got crazy loud. We could barely hear each other. This is a super cute neighborhood bar spot and I'd definitely come here again with friends to have a drink, eat some yummy small plates and chit chat. I probably wouldn't come here again just to have a nice dinner. It's entirely too loud. And I definitely wouldn't bring two 70 year olds again. They're hip, but not that hip! All in all, it was a fun place, decent value for the money and the service was top notch! Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The staff called me when they found out it was my parents' birthday (yes both of them born on the same day!) just to ask if there was anything special I needed which was much appreciated and then they threw in dessert (the aforementioned sticky toffee pudding and a creme brulee) for free. Sweet!

LA Weekly magazine put out a "Top 10" burger list for Los Angeles & The Corner Door's burger was on that list. Being a local, I decided to drop by with a friend to try it out. Although the french fries (regular & sweet potato combo) mix was DELICIOUS, our burgers were LESS than lackluster. We had both ordered our patties cooked to a medium-rare temp and both came out BEYOND well. Honestly, it was one of the driest burgers we had ever had. However, the appetizer, avocado toast, was delicious; although very small for the $12 price tag. The beer/selection was great. The crowd was lively & fun, cool atmosphere, while the noise level was HIGH. If you're expecting to actually have a conversation or get to know someone better, this may not be the correct place to go. To hang out with friends, drink a beer... Cool! So... would I recommend this restaurant to a friend? Yes and no... depends on the circumstances & their goals for the evening.

I met up with some friends for a nice dinner and catch up. The food was fantastic and we had a lot of laughs. The place is small and there aren't a lot of tables. Because the bar and tables are in the same room, it was really noisy. Hard to hear your friends across the table. We had a fun time but it was tough to have a serious conversation. The food and wine selection was great so I would definitely go back and the servers were super helpful and attentive!

Food was very good, albeit a bit on the expensive side for what you get. However, the noise level on a Friday night was deafening. It was nearly impossible to carry on a conversation with someone right next to you, no less with someone who was one seat away.

The staff is extremely friendly and courteous, and the service is wonderful. However, when I initially entered, I was taken back at the high noise level and asked to be seated away from the others so we could talk. I ordered the steak entree, and I must say it was superb...tender, juicy and favorable, spiced just right. However, I kept waiting for someone to turn on the lights. I couldn't see my food clearly, and neither my friend nor I could recognize all the food on our plates. It sounds trite, but I'd really like to be able to see my food. Overall, I'd recommend this restaurant. The noise is tolerable but better lighting will be extremely helpful.

Subdued lighting and brick walls set a comfortable, intimate tone for this small bar/eatery on the expanding restaurant cluster on Washington. Shrimp and lobster on squid-ink pasta, avocado toast, salmon terrine with a fried egg, spicy roasted cauliflower, hamachi tartar -- all well-prepared and tasty. Service is friendly and helpful, although can be stretched thin when the place is crowded.

I came here because they had a lot of things that I wanted to try for Restaurant Week, and I'm generally glad I did. The restaurant is small and dark-ish, and it was a bit tricky finding parking since a lot of the adjacent streets are permit only. My server was nice, but just kind of efficient. Not terribly friendly, but that's OK! The guy who brought my food was very friendly, and I wish I'd caught his name because he was very sweet and attentive. I had the avocado toast, and it was DELICIOUS! I'm not a huge avocado fan, but the one they used was perfectly ripe and paired really well with the burrata and lemony salad on top. I also had the sweet corn gnocchi. I thought the gnocchi itself would have corn in it, but... NO! It was very lovely, puffy gnocchi in a corn, mushroom, and jalapeno laden broth. SO GOOD! For dessert I had the pineapple vacherin. It was ok. A neat circle of chopped pineapple with a tiny cannelle of cinnamon yogurt, and an odd line of black sesame seeds that tasted way more like raw chia seeds. It was like a deconstructed Chobani flip cup! It wasn't my favorite, but the pineapple was sweet and delicious. I rounded my meal out with a great French 75, and a glass of yummy red wine. Overall, I'd totally come back, but it wasn't anything Earth shattering. A nice place to have a nice meal and chat.

Something has changed for the better at the Corner Door. The food in the past was not bad, but there are so many other places in the area with a similar price point, that would get you a better bang for the buck. But the kitchen has tweaked the menu and the food has gotten considerably better. It is still a bar with food, but not exactly bar food -- it has food that would sit comfortably in a casual restaurant for foodies. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable, with the right degree of friendly hospitality. It is a bar/restaurant for young professionals who like their craft beer and mixed drinks, but it would be nice if their wine list was longer than a baseball team's starting line-up. It's not a bad list of inexpensive young wines, but if you plan to visit often for the food -- the wine list will get pretty boring pretty quickly.

There is nothing I don't love about this place – it's like walking in to your best friend's house. The happy hour cannot be beat and every dish on the menu is as great as the next. Beau kills it at the bar and makes one of the undeniably best old-fashion's in the city. Our server was amazing and knew the menu to a tee. She knew exactly what to suggest to our tastes. The manager, Chelsea, is so kind and makes you feel so welcomed when you walk in and makes sure to thank you when you leave. We love the Corner Door.
