Lovely restaurant! Keep it up.
Amazing tasty food, in fun, friendly atmosphere. Will definately be coming back.
Great options, great ambiance, great service. Will frequent this lovely resto~
Extremely delicious food, great service and a lovely decor.
First time there, the staff were extremely friendly. They catered to my celiac diet and cut up cucumbers for me for the hummus which I really appreciated greatly. Will definitely be back.
a little pricey for some of the items. The decor was very nice and service was great
If you are looking for vegetarian restaurant, this Is the place. Excellent selection and all items are superbly tasty. Visited 4 times in the last 7 days!
Mediocre food, insulting prices and portions, poor inattentive service. Will not return.
Waitress was great. Food was poor. We wanted falafel but they were sold out on a Monday at 8:20 pm ?? Roasted pepper dip was great but our bread was burnt to a black crisp, mushroom kibbeh was ok and the kabob of eggplant, mushroom and tofu lacked flavour.
Good and original food full
Service can be improved like: when the server asks you how is the food and you did not have time to start eating food ...
Coffe is long
We came for the 8 th time, the houmous was not as good as usual
Service was poor. $2 charge when asked for ketchup or hot sauce with my brunch order. Food was great despite the slow service. Will go back and try their dinner.
Excellent food and ambience! Unique tastes. Service was good.
I had a really great time it felt like Israel loved the burekke and the whipped feta
It was our anniversary and they really made an effort to make it a special occasion.
Fantastic experience, food was very very delicious, great variety, lots to choose from & gaze at. Will be back for more very soon. Great ambience & energy.
I was really unimpressed with the food.
Presented nicely but was not tasty. The company with me agreed (and we went elsewhere after the meal to satiate ourselves) I would give it another chance as we may have ordered badly.
To add to that, I am a big fan and well versed in Middle Eastern and Nuevo Middle Eastern food, including Ottolenghi, but I felt it missed the mark.
Our waitress was lovely (Sabra) and would give her 5 stars if I could but the hostess wasn’t friendly and it took a while before someone came to take our order.
Aside from all that, The Vibe And location was great!
After being told it’s best to “share everything” it was almost uncomfortable as dish after dish came and were impossible to share. The portions were so small we just kept asking for more pita (which were fluffy, delicious and....small!) to try to make up for it. Slicing the mini piece of halloumi in four was a joke. The falafel are minuscule too. All delicious but very very small portions.
Great food, small portions, too expensive, servers weren’t attentive , too noisy.
Love the food... The whipped Feta and homemade pita bread is amazing
Too many Arabic dishes, almost none Jewish. Service very slow, not very friendly. Very nice patio!
It's a pricey night out for middle eastern, however they were very accommodating to all the dietary needs. I wouldn't be running back in any hurry. Also the server steered us away from the Tagine, suggesting it was lacking flavor. The hummus I would put in the ranks of Top 5 in Toronto. There were some pluses but the portion size was huge factor in my rating, on 3 falafel come per order.
Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. Amazing all vegetarian restaurant.
Very expensive considering how cheap rice, legumes and vegetables are. Portions are very small. Flavour-wise was okay, nothing out of this world.
I used to love Shook however I’m now noticing a lot of cracks unfortunately.
The service yesterday was unhelpful and edgy and when my friend asked if she could have a plate of potatoes on the side, she is allergic to bread, one would think she’d ask for the world!
We were told that ‘it wasn’t possible’ even though potatoes were part of the menu. I asked our server to clarify with her manager; she did and ‘yes’ it was in fact possible. They changed $4 for the plate which seemed reasonable.
However instead of bread again my friend asked for some lettuce leaves as an alternative they added $3 on the bill for the pleasure!
This was removed once we call it out!
The servers used to be lovely and really helpful however yesterday the attitude was not.
My hope when I return it will improve once more as the food is excellent
Food was phenomenal and amazing cocktails. Will definitely come back!
Everything was very good.
Like VERY good.
Except the falafel. It was an embarrassment to Israeli cooking. You want to experiment? Go see what they’re doing at Parallel. You want basic, good falafel? See what they’re doing at M’zaar, Belle, or even Dr. Laffa. It’s good, basic, very tasty falafel. Yours fell flat. And the crummy thing is that someone warned me before my visit NOT to order the falafel.
I should have listened.
Food was excellent, the mujadara was slightly disappointing, a little watery and no crispy onions. They should have an option for a trio dip sampler. Overall excellent, though.
I was very excited to try Shook Kitchen. The ambience was amazing, but surprisingly the food was not. It was bland, small portions, and expensive for what it was. The warm chocolate cake was incredibly dry and inedible too.
I was looking forward to an inspired menu "fit for foodies" but I was disappointed by the bland flavors.
- Mushroom Kibbeh: the stuffing was just OK, the crust was heavy and chewy rather than light and crunchy, the pickled mushrooms brought no additional depth of flavour to the dish
- Daily Hummus: just OK, the chickpeas used as a topping were super crunchy and nothing else, overall a boring dish, which is bad because I love hummus
- Red Shakshouka: at least the eggs were not overcooked, but once again, the dish lacked depth and it was utterly boring
- Mujadara: my first thought was that the lentils were made for people with dietary restrictions since they had no flavour and also had too much liquid, the halloumi was terrible, this was the worst dish of all.
- What about the fresh mint tea that you find in any Israeli restaurant? No, they had none!
Lovely space with well-meaning staff. Annual Brunch with out of town family. Always try to out-do restaurant from year to year. Shook had hype and we were impressed with space and vibe.
Despite pretty empty resto and patio (11:30 on a Monday) & an abundance of staff, we waited a LONG time for service and for items ordered to be delivered in a timely manner. Cocktails and dips and mains all came out after an hour of waiting. An hour! One lunch item came well after this so one of our party ate after everyone else had finished. This item was same as two other orders. Made no sense. Not enough pitas for everyone (that came with meals/dips) so more were ordered. Charged for items not ordered and for pitas that should have been part of order. Our waiter was lovely and perpetually apologetic but we had other staff helping and bringing who were unfamiliar with our table and everything was delivered in a chaotic frenzied and bizarrely delayed way.
Would have thought the late lunch item would have been gratis. Bills were adjusted re pitas but this resto is expensive. For the price we would have expected an organized flow of food and drinks. Not sure we will be back. It’s all insta pretty but not sure about value for service. Food was delicious, the Shakshouka Devine. Can’t imagine what it would be like busy.
Back to Tabule!
Love the Food, the Ambience, The Service
What’s not to like? 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We had a lovely meal where we tried few appetizers and enjoyed the hummus and pita ! The mains were lovely as well and the service was great.
Food was good except that they ran out of a couple things on the menu and the pickled vegetables particularly the fiddle heads do not taste very good pickled . We also ended up serving the bottle of wine ourselves because the server admitted to mixing up bottles from previous guests and did not want that to repeat . At 75 dollars for a bottle
Of wine the least they can do is serve it.
Restaurant is beautiful, service was great but we found the food was very rich & too creamy for a vegetarian spot. Very small portions as well.
Great spot to take colleagues or clients. Food is reminiscent of Parallel in Toronto or Jose Andres’ Zaytinya in D.C. Shook is from the same group that operates Byblos and Patria so you know you are going to get consistently good food and service. High marks all round.
Great customer service and loved all their recommendations. Everyone was super friendly and service was fast. The food and drinks were great and loved the ambience. Would always come back!
Food was absolutely amazing !!!!!! Every single thing tasted delicious !!!
