   What a strange experience last night. Ill start with, I am a huge Bread Bar fan. Probably been here more than 20 times - breakfast, lunch, dinner, you name it. Its my spot of choice. I will be back for sure but last night's experience was lacking big time. We ordered the hummus and asked for extra pita because there is always sooooo much hummus. We order it every single time. This time, it was about half the serving of hummus as normal, if not less. It felt like it was the end of the barrel or something. There wasnt even enough to go around the table of 6. That was disappointing. We ordered the bread and cheese board and after confirming what cheese was on it, the board came out without cheese? They forgot and had to bring it out on a small plate after, which was weird. When we ordered we had asked our server to make sure he delayed our meal orders but in the end, they arrived while we still had 1/3 of our apps that we were still enjoying. Its always frustrating when that happens and I told I server that wasn't appropriate at the time Because now we are forced to not finish and start on our mains before they got cold and to make room for all the plates. We tried the Risotto, while a new item, is not one we will ever order again. Lesson learned. It might be for some, but definitely not us. The menu said it is made with a tomato marmalade, but it was like a pizza sauce. It just tasted like a bowl of rice in pizza sauce. My mussels lacked flavour this time and its my go to dish! The broth was really thin, the mussels a little slimey and overall, just bland. I only ate half. After my meal, I ordered coffee but was told the machine was off for the night. They made me an Americano instead which was good, but I thought it was strange not to have coffee on offer. So not sure if something was off in the kitchen last night or what. We will be back I just hope things are better the next time around. Between our table of 6 we spent $475 and expect more.

   First I want to acknowledge our server Jazz, she was fantastic. Great food. Was only our second time to the James St location. My mistake for forgetting it was the last day of March break with Disney on Ice so there were more kids there for my liking but that’s on me. We forgot to ask, where does the $1 go for the MVP Pizza as we hadn’t seen the MVP employee of the month posted. Would be upsetting if you advertise this and it’s not going to the employees. We will be back!!!

   We were quick in and out, but could take our time if we had more! Food and service were top notch. Their fries are amazing! Great spot with great staff! Highly recommend

   Went for a pre theater meal. Service was efficient but very friendly and not at all rushed. Food was delicious. Bread Bar James is becoming a go to spot!

    I'm a big fan of Bread Bar on James. Great ambiance. Wonderful servers. Tremendously tasty food. As a vegan, I appreciate that they provide some options on their menu and they are also willing to modify some options for me. Prices are higher than in some places in Hamilton but the value for the money is there. I highly recommend this place for both lunch and dinner.

    We made a reservation for four before the lacrosse game. Table was ready without delay. The server was prompt, pleasant and helpful. Our food and drinks were served without delay. We ordered the bread platter to share and were impressed with the dish. We all ordered pizzas and were very happy. Tasty, well cooked and offering 8-10 unique and delicious options We plan on returning next month.

    Service felt like we were being rushed even though the restaurant was less than half full. Server removed our appetizers while there was still food on the plate. I had ordered Mac and cheese with side beet salad, something I order frequently at the Locke at location. The pasta was undercooked, had a weird taste And runny consistency, the beet salad had less of the ingredients that come on it like the crumble and was missing the goat cheese. The server never did ask about our meals. The icing on the cake though was that a friend who wasn’t able to make it called the restaurant to purchase desserts for the three of us as we were celebrating a birthday. When I spoke with her afterwards she asked me how we enjoyed the dessert. We were never offered a dessert. The birthday girl Was offered a brownie but nobody told us why and I assumed it was because I had put a birthday celebration in the comments when booking. My friend said that when she called and was speaking with the manager that he said that if we didn’t want dessert he would offer us something else. Disappointing that the restaurant would take her money without offering us what she paid for or even let us know about her gesture. I frequently attend the Locke st location and it has always been spectacular with food and service. I would go there instead.

    Vibrant but loud and crowded. The waitstaff’s butt was touching our table. Kind of gross. Waiter forgot the ice I requested for my wine which is fine but then it was brought in a pint glass for which I was charged a beer for on my bill. Oh and the tip option on top of the taxes hast to be addressed. That’s ripping customers off.

    Incredible service as always! The staff never fail to create a wonderful experience every time I visit that keeps me coming back. The food is always fresh & delicious, and the ambience is perfect for sharing a meal and banter with friends.

    The lights are on max. Great if you’re planning on doing some surgery there. Not great if you’d like a pleasant evening out. Ambience matched that of a 1980s food court.

    Great space, delicious food, decent prices. If I was with my friends, I wouldn't appreciate the timelines on our visit, seems to be more common now though. That's a bummer. But otherwise, fabulous dinner!

    Normally everything is usually awesome. Not so much this time. We ordered 2 appetizers, soup and a salad to share. Requested that the soup and salad be brought out as our main. Ten minutes later, everything was brought out which left us no room to move. Was not fun one bit. By the time we got to some of the food, it was already cold. Please listen to your guests requests.

    Food was amazing, it was pretty loud but there was a large table there of around 12 so probably added to the noise level. Our waiter was maybe tired or had worked too long but seemed to not really care and just be going through the motions. It was also difficult to hear him since it was so loud and he spoke very soft and monotone.

    We all ordered different things. I had the cheeseburger. There was TOO much sauce on it. This was a no bread cheeseburger. It was difficult to view or taste the patty. It was one of the skinniest patties I think I have had. This is not the first time that we’ve been to Bread Bar, but this was the worst food. There was three of us in the party. The other two had pizzas which were different and they both said that “it didn’t taste good at all”. It definitely wasn’t as good as the Locke St location. I was wondering if there was a new chef.
