A really wonderful experience eating in their heated dome. It's very quiet, private and a neat experience! Service was excellent, even though we were outside the restaurant. It's like a plexiglass igloo with a nice door and all. A heater placed by the table kept us very comfortable. The food was excellent!

Everything was outstanding. I do recommend reserving their outdoor globes for seating. Very personal and cozy, even with a family of 5. Food and service was exceptional.

For this visit we ordered a number of small plates between the three of us in addition to a Chirashi bowl and a sashimi plate. Everything was absolutely delicious! Our reservation was for 7:30 but we were able to come in earlier. A lovely experience.

My usual sushi spot was closed so my partner and I made reservations here. I've never had better sushi in this area. I'm so incredibly happy that we made the choice to go out to SanKai! Recommendations: Red Dragon roll, SanKai roll, 4th Ave roll, and all the fresh sheet varieties! Can't wait to return to this establishment. Yum! As much as I would have loved to try out the private dining domes, the experience at the bar was perfect!

Best sushi around.. fish is top notch, service is patient and accommodating (we had two babies with us). Creative menu, classic dishes and new favorites. Will be back every time we’re in town. Happy hour menu is a delicious hack! 4 pieces of nigiri for $12!? The fish is so good, so worth the splurge.

I enjoyed the outdoor bubble seating, it was a great ambiance with unexpectedly a heater and Sonos playing some surfer music. The food was tasty and well made and a menu with good variation available.

This was our first experience at SanKai and it was wonderful. We made a reservation for one of the outdoor domes and although it was very cold outside, we were not. The dome was heated, included low ambient music, and made me feel as if I was on, a long overdue, vacation. Especially since our server was so extremely hospitable and nice. Yuri, thank you for making us feel so special. The food was exceptional as well without being overpriced. Everything was delicious but the Yellowtail Nigiri and Yuzu Mousse Cake were especially good.

Thank you for another great meal last night. SanKai is my go to for 🍣. Our favorites include 🦞 roll and dragon roll and Yellowtail 🍣. Everthing was fresh and the service is outstanding. I'll be back next week with my son and his girlfriend for their 1st visit. 💕

We were seated in a private bubble outside. It was comfortable thanks to the small heater and door to the outside. Our thoughtful server made many trips through the rain to care for us. And the food...absolutely delicious. We did not want to stop eating!Q

Wonderful food, very fresh and flavorful. It was a birthday treat for my son who loves sushi, he ended up eating 5 rolls by himself and would have had more if he had room.

We have been to San Kai many times and it is always amazing however I had the oppourtunity to take my 8 year old son for the first time and sit in the domes. He couldn't believe how good his sushi was and said "This is the best meal of my entire life" He can't wait to go back!

Everything was "fine". Prices are reasonable but portions are small. Wine glass pour was around 3oz. Only 2 other tables in restaurant when we arrived. We were sat right next to one of them with less than a foot of separation.

Because of dietary restrictions I usually don't go to Japanese restaurants, but I was very impressed at the great selection of non-sushi/shellfish items. The dishes that I did order were absolutely delicious and I'll most likely be coming back to this place next time I'm in Edmonds

The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food there was fantastic. It was my husband’s birthday that day, the restaurant treated us with a Mochi ice cream for desert, which was my husband’s favorite.

Front of the house service is always great - 5 stars plus. Back of the house was a different story, and this was surprising. Usually happy with the quality of food and the dynamic in the kitchen. But this time, the Omakase was underwhelming - quantity, cut quality, and types of fish. Thought the kitchen staff in general was less friendly than I’ve seen in the past, and didn’t get the hospitality from the kitchen that I’m accustomed to at SanKai. Nobody said a word when we walked in. Nor when we walked out. Which is simply not up to the high standard of customer service that is typical of Japanese establishments. This might seem knit picky because there was nothing that stood out in comparison to the typical restaurant. But obsessing over customer service is part of quintessential Japanese cuisine. And so it matters when it’s just like Salt and Iron or some diner down the street. I don’t like when restaurants skimp out on Seattle restaurant week by only offering the deal on week nights. That wasn’t a dealbreaker, but enough added up for an extremely mediocre dining experience. We’ve had many amazing dinners at SanKai. I think this was probably just an off night. I would still recommend SanKai and we will likely go back again, but will be hoping for better fish even if the price is higher.

There is a wide selection of sushi and sashimi with a fresh sheet every day. We also particularly like the Sankai roll and the Brackets landing roll. Prices seem reasonable for the quality and quantity. Service is quick and friendly.
