Top Chef contestant Leah Cohen's Pig and Khao (68 Clinton Street) on the Lower East Side. The Southeast Asian inspired cuisine offers a variety of Thai and Filipino influences on the menu including Crispy Pata and pickled mango salad (pork shank cooked in soy sauce and five spice garnished with coriander, crispy garlic served with a secret family recipe sweet and sour liver dipping sauce), Grilled Pork Jowl and Brussels Sprouts Salad (chili lime fish sauce, shallot, herbs and toasted rice) and Crispy Pork Belly Adobo (Szechuan peppercorn, coconut vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaves, crispy garlic, scallion and soft boiled egg). Drinks range from cheap canned beer, wine, cocktails, and a self-serve bottomless tap in the backyard

Great Place! Great Food! Great Ambience! Great Service. but terribly understaffed the busy night we were there. Head waiter comped our drink to make up for long wait which was very cool

I had the steak, a side of long beans, and the Turon for dessert. All three were delicious, and for exactly what I would have expected to have paid. Atmosphere was lively, but not too loud. Decor was awesome. I did sit at the counter which was awesome, but if you can't take the heat, stay out of (or away from) the kitchen. I definitely want to go back to try some of the other menu items.

We really wanted to like the food and ambiance but the music is just too loud that people are yelling to have a conversation. The tables are so close together but it’s LES but it made it worse because you can hear everyone because they are yelling to converse. The food is too salty! I get that they want the food to be flavorful but all the dishes start to taste the same. The saltiness became inedible, we noticed tables next to us couldn’t eat the same dishes and I think it’s just too salty. At one point we mentioned it to the waiter when asked about the food, I don’t think he cares, didn’t even respond. ,

While the food was absolutely delicious, the service left me feeling neglected and ignored. Not sure if I would go back because I do not want to feel like that when I go out to eat.

Horrible experience with racist staff. At the end of the meal a man comes to our table and tells us we immediately have to get up for a reservation. We had a reservation and were t given an out time but still we ask if we can sit and finish our drinks while we each use the bathroom . The man says no, the bathroom has a line. Fine we get up . We walk to the EMPTY bar to finish our drinks and wait for the bathroom and the same man chases us down to tell us we can’t stand there either cause tables are coming . No one is at the bar and many other white ppl are in line for the bathroom with drinks. He doesn’t say a word to them . It’s already embarrassing to have orders barked at you like we’re not customers but to give us *special* instructions as the only black women in the whole place was crazy . Pig and khao either needs to fire that man or let it be known they don’t want black customers . We will take our $$$ elsewhere

Best bang for your buck! The food is incredible and the portions are excellent! Went there with my lovely girlfriend for restaurant week. Incredible value. Service was top notch. Super friendly staff! The cocktails need to be better but weren’t awful. Not enough to keep me away! Love this place!!
