Took over an hour for our entrees to come, way too much time between appetizers and dinner food. Will return again - good amazing and great ambiance. Looking forward to trying brunch

Chose Outerlands due to the location and was pleasantly surprised by the décor and the meal. Loved it, reminded me of something I'd see on HGTV. Would definitely recommend, especially since my business meeting went so well!

Once again the food was out of this world good! The seared edge of the lamb shoulder was extraordinary. Cauliflower soup and bread together is heavenly. Keep it coming!

We really liked the ambiance and service - warm and casual. We loved the bread, salad, and salmon entree. The gnocchi was good, but the portion was too small. The cauliflower soup was good and had an interesting flavor. I didn't love it, but it was quite unique. We had a warm chocolate cookie that was delicious tasting, but it could have been hotter.

We had a glorious cocktail (Harvard), followed by an incredible dinner, including pressed lamb shoulder (YUM!), and finished by splitting a homemade chocolate chip cookie, and a pot of tea. Everything was beyond delicious. (Do not miss the bread, btw.) It was a wonderful evening out.

Used to be good. Now--not so much. They charge $5/bread which is not friendly. Portions were very small. Cauliflower soup w/ nuts tasted predominantly of nuts. No one at the table could taste any cauliflower in the soup. Asparagus salad had good flavor but if it was made from more than 4 asparagus, I'd be surprised. Ordered Tres leche cake for desert and what arrived had absolutely nothing related to Tres Leche cake. This was Tres Leche cake taken waaay past deconstructing the cake. What was worse was that no one at the table liked it. THe bill for 4 people was close to $200 with tip. I had soup and salad, my husband had olives and clams, and another guest had pulled pork fritters + 1 drink and I don't remember what the last person had. We split 2 deserts. Not worth the money and not worth wasting a dining opportunity. And the seating was uncomfortable on hard wood benches. They could have put cushions on the bench.

The food is mostly very good. I enjoyed the cauliflower soup and the lamb. The desserts were a little disappointing in contrast to the stellar mains. Be warned - some of the 2-tops are high tables with stools. Not very accessible. It took a bit of attitude to get a new table. We would have had to leave had they not given us a new spot. I'm glad we stayed. That lamb was superb.

One of my favorite places to eat and it's in walking distance from my house. The bread and cookie is always a must. The decor is part hip, part woodsy cabin part honey. The food is delicious. Workers are nice but sometimes not attentive.

I was very excited to make my first visit to Outerlands. I had heard so many great things, but I was disappointed. While the server was charming and helpful, the food was just ok - not one dish we ordered 2 appetizers and an entree each) seemed special and my $27 salmon entree had two TINY pieces of salmon on a pile of pretty tasteless black-eyed peas. Maybe an off night but not inclined to return anytime soon.

I like this place. The food is very good and the crowd, including servers is quite diverse and very different from the Valencia corridor. the place had a nice comfortable feel to it. The best part of the food was the preparation of vegetables, reminiscent of Al's Place.

Ordered the Cauliflower Soup once and had to come back to Outerlands for more. It's not every day you are blown away by soup. Everything we ordered was excellent. Service was great: casual, careful, and professional. Small and teeming, but very comfortable for small groups or families. A delight. There was a mixup with our reservation, but the manager could not have been more sincerely apologetic and delightful to us the whole time. Outerlands more than made up for the inconvenience.

Dined at this restaurant twice. It is a solid B but it does not knock my socks off. The best item of the whole meal is the bread. It is crunchy, chewy, moist and soft. The burrata with nori powder and walnut is quite bland. I wish they add some balsamic vinegar reduction or some acid to bright it up. The clam in broth sitting on two slices of the bread. The broth is nice but need a pinch of some salt to intensify the sweetness of the clams.

My favorite restaurant in SF. Not only are you close to the beach, the food is divine! Their home-made bread is the best, especially when you eat it with the burrata. Cocktails & desserts are also not to be missed. Thank you!

I enjoyed this restaurant for its food. The service was okay. As a midwesterner, I'm still getting used to San Francisco nice which is a good 5 notches below Midwestern nice. Anyhow, ultimately our burrata was fabulous (seriously the best I've ever had,) our duck egg salad was awesome, drinks were great, bread was next level, one of our entrees was good the other was meh, dessert was very meh. At the end of the day, I'd come back, but not for a special occasion as I thought it was very casual and not a great place to celebrate a birthday.

This was my second visit to Outerlands, the first for my wife. We had a great evening. The food is excellent. The fresh-baked warm bread is as good as any you will ever get. The service is excellent. Outerlands is the definitive Neighborhood Gem. Makes me wish we lived in the Outer Sunset. The restaurant is easy to get to via Muni. There is a stop on the N-Judah about 100 ft from their front door.

Welcoming and warm atmosphere, this is a neighborhood gem with a very creative menu. The made in house hot lemon ginger spiced cider with bourbon was the perfect cocktail for close to the beach dining! We loved the fresh bread, roasted asparagus and currant salad, cauliflower soup, and shrimp and grits entree. We can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu!
