Fox on John
Server was not very attentive. Asked to order beverages and she took one persons order and then walked away without asking anyone else. Did this three other times until everyone got their beverage ordered. Failed to bring salt and pepper to the table despite asking her on two separate occasions. Food was alright.
Great food and Great service. Have no complaints. Waitress was on point.
This restaurant was very close to the theatre and it was good value for me and my grandson. There is no kids' menu but there are lots of options for kids that are priced reasonably. The host and our server were both excellent - friendly, attentive, engaging.
Pop was flat even after multiple refill requests. Waitress didn't know if they had relish. We saw bottles on hostess cart.
It was great food and service just was too hot inside and they cranked he music so loud we couldn’t talk.
Aaaaamazing. I had the Branzino entree, found it cooked just right. My lady ordered the wild mushroom risotto and ordered another to go to eat later!
Very nice ambiance and staff. Very good food in the Entertainment district.
I made a reservation for 5 using open table. The reservation was not honored and in was forced to make new plans late the night of the raptors game 6 win over the bucks. Not impressed but the food could have been good. Hard to tell
Great food and great drinks, nice ambience
This is my second time here and service is not good, and there was a major mess up with our table with nonsense about who exactly who I talked with about increasing/decreasing my attendees going fro my open table reservation for over 5 mins, even after sitting down. Extremely loud. Because you have a good location, doesn't give you the ability to provide bad service. Remember, people like me also have senior jobs downtown and wouldn't hesitate to share my experience good or bad with another 85,000 people.
Good meal and drinks. Music was too loud
Overall it was nice but the one thing was the music was way too loud. It was difficult to have a normal conversation with the person sitting across from me. Even the server had difficulties hearing our order.
The beet salad barely covered the bottom of the plate and was not enough food. Has no greens. Serving sizes are small. Chicken wings on menu came with beer but the beer didn’t come to the table until the dinner was almost finished. Same with my cocktail. We could not find our waiter when we wanted him. Service was slow. Definitely not worth the price and I will not go back.
We were glad we'd made a reservation. The restaurant was busy at 6:30 on a Saturday evening and we were seated immediately, in spite of the busy entryway. Food was delivered at a good pace and we did not feel rushed. The service was very friendly and we were able to finish with just the right amount of time left to get to the theatre. The portobelo wrap was perfect.
Good location in the theater district. nice menu with a good variety of choices
so noisy could not hear our party at all, service slow and food meh
Menu was completely different than what is online
Dinner after a matinee show. Great ambiance and good service. Will definitely be back.
Very good. Service was also great. Definitely would go back.
There were five of us and no complaints.
Beer came in a dirty glass. Replacement took a considerable length of time. Chicken Tender meal was overcooked. When delivered, it was dark brown. Asked the manager about it and he said it was the panko crust - NOT. It was inedible. Waitress tried to do a good job but was overworked and it took a long time for her to get to her tables.
The food was pretty standard, but the service was incredible. We went with 10 people for a friend’s birthday. The manager went above and beyond to arrange seating for us, and even brought our table a free round of shots to celebrate. One of the best experiences I’ve had in Toronto in terms of excellent service. I would definitely go back!
Cool place close to the theatre. We sat near the fireplace and it’s pretty cool as looks like a library with old books. Service was great but they were running low on things on menu. For example ordered a drink but then was told it’s not offered as they don’t have all the ingredients for it. Ordered a couple of appetizers but then we are told one of them is sold out. Ordered wings with ranch sauce and I get served watered down blue cheese as they ran out of ranch sauce. Then went to order a desert and the one of our choice is no longer available. It’s too bad as it’s a great location and staff are very nice, just they don’t have the stuff to back it up.
We had a nice pre-theatre dinner. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and I liked that the menu had a number of interesting choices at reasonable prices including the draught beer. The noise level was low enough to have a normal conversation but the place was only half full at the time. I would certainly go again.
Setting it nice but not too many food options
Great value for food and drinks! Our server was the best! Thank you Fox!
We were seated in the Library section as requested (thank you) but the couch seating was not suitable for dinner dining...extremely uncomfortable.
Our 3orders with fries were not hot when brought to the table
And the restaurant was not busy
We were brought fries that were hot after being served
My first time and didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and i officially made it my number one spot ; before the theatre or after. Makenzie was a fantastic server and made my mom and myself very welcomed
Booked reservation for before theatre dinner. Table was ready when we arrived and we were seated quickly. Food was good, but not exceptional. Server was pleasant and food arrived relatively quickly. Would try this location again.
The is the Fox and the Fiddle; I guess they are trying to rebrand themselves. First of all, we arrived early for our 6:30 pm reservation and was told to wait until that time, however, the reservation time came and went, we stood for a total of 50 minutes. While they tried to be apologetic, they should not have accepted the reservation when they know there would be a large group of approximately 30 people at the restaurant at that time.
We ordered simple items as we were afraid that it would take a long time to arrive since we have to catch an 8:00 pm show.
To summarize, a BAD experience. I wish the manager tried to be more transparent and tell us the actual wait time; we would have made other choices.
Service was great, food was good and served hot, waitress brought refill without having to ask.
First time at this restaurant. Menu has a very good selection. I ordered the steak sandwich - it was a bit small but it was tasty. Overall a good experience and we would go back
We were well received, and well served. Convenient location for pre-theatre dinner.
Had the fish and chips - it was cold and dry. Our server was disinterested. Would have a drink there but not eat there.
My wife requested a cup of hot tea and I requested coffee as we are non-drinkers. My coffee was excellent however the tea was cold. The server apologized and said that the system could not produce hot water! He did remove both items from our bill as an apology.
Steph was an excellent server. The choice & recommendation was excellent. She also explained re the spice in the curry dish. To quote my husband "This is a place to dine when attending the Theatre. We live in Woodstock- about 2 hrs. Drive.
Nice not to wait for service. Thanks, Pamela.
Food was delicious, service was attentive
