Have been here many times. Great befora an MSG CONCERT, shopping or any occasion
Reliable, great incentive menu and wines and specialty drinks. Will be coming back for more
I love the food at Stella and I love that the tables are not on top of one another. You can enjoy quiet conversation with your table mate and you can get up from your seat without having the table next to you move so you can get out. A great place to meet a friend.
A perfect dinner! We are dinner here tonight, and had a window seat with a beautiful view of the Empire State Building. The pizza we had was butternut squash, and it was the best pizza either one of us had ever had. We also had roasted vegetables that were amazing. I will return here the next time I visit NYC!
Food and service was outstanding. Must try the “lasagna for two”, best I’ve ever had.
Service is friendly but too lax at reception. I was left standing awaiting an empty table too long with little concern shown although there was no one else waiting and my table had been selected. The meal was ok, pizza good but my cafe latte was weak and tepid. I complained and this got ignored.
Nice place right buy the garden without the usual insanity.Great place before a game or concert and great space where the noise level is reasonable and excellent service.
The main reason to eat at Trattoria 34 is its location in Macy’s and it’s modest view of the Empire State Building. The food is a nice slightly modern take on Italian. Prices are reasonable. It’s relatively quiet. Service was friendly but not great. We had to remind the server of our drinks order and no one ever refilled our water glasses. These are insignificant points, but they illustrate the difference between Trattoria 34 and most other restaurants in this price range.
we saw many mice and communicated to host and she said it was normal. Its not normal to have mice in a restaurant. Unfortunately this is the 5th time I visit this restaurant and the food is really good.
The food is always good and perfect for lunch in the garment district
Very nice place for lunch or dinner. Easy to have a conversation and excellent food options for all.
Went at lunch time for group reservation business lunch. Food Is delicious and restaurant is beautiful. Service can be slow and waiter was not knowledgeable about portion sizes, how many slices of pizza were in a pie, etc, causing us to over order significantly. Leftovers were delicious but wondering if, for example, saying the half a meter pizza only had 8 slices and suggesting we order two when it had over 15 slices was a ploy to have a larger bill.
Would still recommend as long as you have at least 1.5 hours to dedicate to lunch and are not pressed for time.
Wonderful view of the Empire State Building, even if you do not score a table by the windows. Pizza is always a good option - especially the butternut squash and pistachio. Yum.
The ambience was brilliant, everything seemed very high end despite the low price, but the service was abhorrent.
We came as a group of 8 clearly tourist schoolchildren, a little early for our booking. Despite being a big group, we were rather quiet, but nothing seemed to please the Waiter. We were seated at a table away from the main group, which was understandable given the size of the group (most tables were 2's or 4's), which seemed like a nice gesture from the wait staff to the rest of the patrons there. Nonetheless, nothing we did seemed to quell the waiter's hatred for our entire group. Every time he thanked us, he just said yes in an incredibly annoyed, monotone voice. He ignored us at all times possible and was generally incredibly rude to us.
The food, however, was fabulous. As previously mentioned, it was very cheap for the experience it gave, and though slightly too oily, the pizza was lovely, and there was plenty of choice for vegetarians.
Overall, it was a mediocre experience, it would have been brilliant were it not for the unfriendly waiter.
Great place to have lunch when in Herald Square. Nice restaurant with good food.
Nice open space. Eggplant parmigian is great! Butternut squash ravioli very good. I would definitely go back.
Service was not good on that day.
I initially went to this restaurant because it is so close to Penn Station (one long block and one short block away). That is one of the reasons I continue to meet friends there for lunch. I like the fact that they don’t rush us out if we linger after we finish eating. Finally, every course in the three-course prix fixe ($29) lunch I had there three days ago was delicious.
Food was mediocre at best and the kitchen struggled to get orders correct. Server was lovely. Disappointed.
I went with my mom and sister before a concert and it couldn’t have been better . We had drinks and split several small plates for dinner . Food was delicious very nice ambience inside and loved the tall windows.
Would definitely return .
The food was surprisingly good, we were a little apprehensive when we realized it was in the Macy's building but we thoroughly enjoyed our fare.
I have been to Stella many times and enjoyed it very much, this time I was extremely disappointed in the service - we had to ask for water about 6 times. No one asked how our meal was - the food was ok. servers were hardly on the floor. Then a mouse ran by...enough said
Not sure I will go back
We were celebrating my son’s birthday
The $29. Pre fixed lunch is a great value and reservations are suggested.
Love this restaurant! Convenient location inside Macy’s and near garment center. Food is delicious!!
Very nice location with great views out of the large windows and really pretty decor inside.
Food was very good and the service was excellent.
I will go back for sure.
Loved this Trattoria! Delicious food, great food, great vibe and right in the heart of midtown and Macy’s!
I have been to Stella a few times and the service is always varying. I feel bad because I think our waiter was new but he didn’t know anything about the menu and forgot to give us bread (second time that has happened to me out of five visits).
Always a great meal to be had here! Great ambiance and happy hour available as well.
Great experience lots of fun and great food and drinks
Had been before but tonight it was packed due to Elton John concert. I had made a reservation via open table & for some reason, they didn't have a record, but was able to accommadate, even though they had just turned a party away due to no reservation.
It was very loud!!
Order was taken quickly & food arrived fast as well, we had said we were headed to the concert. Pizza is soooo good as was the roasted vegatable dish.
Food was salty. I kept drinking water after I got home. Chicken soup wasn't very tasty. Not sure if it was meant to taste like that or not. It could be my unsophisticated palette. View and ambiance was nice.
Excellent food and service. Never disappointed. I find the menus interesting and tasty every time I go. Highly recommend.
Very good food and service. I had a good moment with my wife.
What a pleasant surprise!! Absolutely loved everything about this place! Received outstanding customer service, food delicious, and great atmosphere! Will return!
Would be great if you had a formal gluten free menu rather than rely on waiter’s knowledge
Good. But found the lasagna for two a tad overpriced. Was a very good dish however
Based on reviews, I decided to give Stella 34 a try. When I saw it was IN Macy's I was concerned, thinking the high ratings were based on the relief of shoppers to have some decent food. Luckily I went in and found the restaurant. The hostess, waiter, and food were far above 'mall dining'. Actually three days later, I wish I were in NYC, to go back and repeat the same meal again.
Service was good - attentive waiter. The food is always good and nicely presented. Just a simple calzone and meatball sandwich shared with a friend. I wondered why the price of the eggplant parm sandwich was $26 while the veal meatball was $18. Did not get to the manager about that odd pricing. Wonderful break in a once a year day of shopping at Macy's.
We enjoy our dinner and eill come back again in the future
Nice pizza, a better knife would have been better to cut it.
