Great food ! Love the Ceviche, Lomo Saltado and Pisco! Love this place!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Went for brunch and didn't feel rushed - not always the case in DC.
Really enjoyed the food, especially the Lomo Saltado, but the pacing of the courses was far too slow. from drinks to dessert, our dinner lasted 3 hours with a lot of time just waiting to receive the courses. Additionally, the waiter was a bit unprofessional, as he insisted one of the ladies at our table to try her boyfriend's cocktail (Moscow mule) before ordering her own, as it "might be too strong for you" (of course, it was not).
The food was fantastic! My husband's Lomo Saltado Sandwich was full-flavored, and my shrimp Barlotto was a tasty new-to-me version of something I often order (risotto). My husband tried the Chilcano Clasico cocktail and it was perfect. Great stop before heading to a game watch. Recommend!
The overall experience was good but the pancakes were undercook.
Food was very good and real Peruvian
The food and service are excellent. Nice decor and comfort. We have been there twice, one at happy hour, it was a little loud for our taste.
We come from Peru and will keep going for the food and service. They have a good selection of Peruvian food (one of the best in the world) and they prepare it well.
Been twice. Great food and service. Unique cuisine for that part of town. (18th & L Sts., NW)
Terrific happy hour. Includes complete bev list including bottles of wine.
Happy hour prices are good throughout the restaurant til 7pm so you don't have to squeeze in at the bar.
I had heard about the restaurant and i was very excited to finally try it, what a great choice. Loved it!
Great food, the waiter was very knowledgeable about the cuisine and cocktail offerings, loved his suggestions. Friendly and inviting atmosphere. My team and I were there for a work event. Shout out to our server Yousef, he made the night even more special.
Great addition to the downtown dining scene. Interesting menu, nicely done space. It was when we arrived for an early lunch but was full - and much livelier by 1 pm. We tried a couple of the cerviches which were outstanding. The group sampled empanadas, a salad option and a pork sandwich that got raves. We’ll all be back!!
Excelente servicio y comida realmente deliciosa, el mismo sabor de Miami!!
Went here for a friend brunch and it was so good! I will be going again. Staff was super understanding of my gluten allergy and checked with the kitchen about my food. Food came out on time and everything was delicious. My friend doesn't like fish and she was able to find more than enough other options. One thing was that they seemed to only have two waiters on staff that morning, so it was sometimes hard to grab our waiter. But it did not hinder service.
The restaurant was awesome! Great food! Great service!
I thought this restaurant was great! I went when they first opened, so they have a few kinks to work out. Overall, the food was good (particularly the ceviche), the wine list was great, and the cocktails looked awesome too!
We were celebrating a special occasion, and let them know about it ahead of time. Everyone - from the front desk to the server, to the staff member who opened the door as we left - acknowledged and congratulated us. The food was delicious, beautifully arranged and very shareable, and the service was warm and unpretentious. We will go back!
Best PERUVIAN restaurant in the DC area for sure!! The ceviche was PERFECT, very fresh ingredients, almost like eating it in Lima near the Pacific ocean!! The octopus, anticuchos, causa, etc., were all delicious! Will definitely go back soon!
EXCELLENT SERVICE AND WONDERFUL FOOD!!
THE SERVICE IS VERY EFFICIENT AND EXPLAIN YOU EVERYTHING ABOUT THE MENU.
This restaurant was delicious and I would go back there again but I think that there should be more flavor in the food.
Great food and service, ceviche are delicious, the lamb shank was great.
The only issue is the noise is pretty intense
Yousef was an awesome sever, food was excellent. Great meal!
Amazing cuisine, cool decor and superior service - both times I went in past month, my server was Jessica who made an already excellent food experience all the better.
Food and service were great but we were seated by a big table and it was very loud. Acoustics are not great.
The food was delicious, but the noise level in the restaurant was a bit loud. Wait staff also seemed to be stretched thin. Despite this, I plan to go back and try their seco.
This was my third visit and, as before, everything was good. I went there at happy hour and had some tasty pisco sours. Although their causa sampler was not on the menu at that point (I guess it's on their dinner menu only), they made it for me anyway and it was delicious! This is a great new addition to the downtown DC dining scene. My wife is Peruvian, and she loves it, too!
Victor was our server and we had exceptional service. We were celebrating a coworkers birthday and we had a great time. Food and service was great.
Happy hour is a good deal for decent cocktails however beware there are no happy hour prices for food. The decor is non-descript and designed with scant sensitivity to acoustics. The noise level during happy hour was deafening...so position yourself to be very near your guest's ear, or mutually agree to eat in relative silence, or request dining outside (weather permitting). This place is new and hopefully in time will find its groove.
As someone who lives part of the year in Peru, this was a huge and pleasant surprise as the food is totally authentic, albeit present in a upscale manner. We were a group of 5 and enjoyed several rounds of excellent Pisco Sours (Quatro Gallos pisco) shared all of the dishes, including the Ceviche and Causa samplers and the Tiradito (very tasty and well prepared), the main dishes of Lomo Saltado and Arroz con Mariscos made us believe we were eating in our favorite places in Lima! The server was very attentive and explained the dishes to our guests. The only negative, which others have posted as well, is the noise level made it difficult to hear each other. We asked the greeter for a quieter location and she was happy to accommodate and we enjoyed the evening. A tad bit pricey, but well worth the price.
My second time at this restaurant and the experience was much better than the first time around. The first time we sat at the bar area for happy hour. Drinks were great but NO HH price for food. The bar area was super chaotic.
The second time I made a reservation in the dining area with two of my friends. Ordered 2 different cerviches; mixto and tuna. Both were delicious! Grilled octopus was so good we ordered a second. We also ate entree portion of grilled seafood (fish, shrimp, octopus, etc). All good and the service was excellent!
I would go back to eat the grilled octopus soon.
Note: The noise level is high. It is perfect if you get in to an argument with your partner! 🤣
Waiter was a little pushy
The place has fantastic food and great juices. The (very attentive) waiter told us the ceviches were recommended as appetizers but everyone in the group ordered one as a lunch main and had trouble finishing it. Every item was excellent and had a great variety of flavors and ingredients.
The phenomenal mix of flavors in the food, the freshness of the ingredients, the professional service and a fantastic atmosphere makes this one of my new favorites.
Excellent food and service
What a great night. My wife and I went to Pisco on a bit of a dare as we have never had Peruvian food. I just had no clue what to expect and how to navigate the menu. But from the time we sat down we were at ease. Jessica, our waitress, was great. We told her we had never been there before, but she made us feel at ease without being fussy. She recommended to sets of samplers to help us appreciate the cuisine and all of her recommendations (including the entrees) were thoughtful and personable. the food was yummy, the drinks were fun and the atmosphere was both visually comfortable, though it is a bit loud in there. I would recommend you go, bring friends who want to try something new and fun.
Loved it we enjoyed the drinks, the food, and the service!
As always had a fantastic brunch at Pisco yesterday... Love the food, the service and the ambience. Cant wait to go back.
This was my third visit to Pisco. The food is amazing. On this visit, the group shared appetizers to include Empanadas, Causa Crocante and Tostones. Everything was delicious. Their Moscow Mules are hands down the best ever. Others excellent drinks are the Strawberry Caipiroska (featured drink for October) and the Tranquilo Tropical. Angel was our server. He was attentive and very informative. He provided a perfect balance of service. We revisit again and again.
Great ceviche and appetizers!! Some of the best ceviche I have had in DC. Unfortunately, average dinner entrees and the side of papas fritas was incredibly disappointing. It’s very loud in the restaurant, so don’t plan to go with people hard of hearing. The service was also disappointing. I ordered a glass of wine before my guests even arrived and didn’t receive it (after numerous requests) until the entree arrived. They were nice to comp the wine but I may have ordered more than just one....
Out of town travel
While I want to say the best things about the food, the service seemed a bit unusual for a Thursday night. We were rushed and the restaurant closed down by 10:15, although we had a late reservation. It came off as unprofessional restaurant service etiquette to be clearing our plates while we were still eating and finishing our bottle of wine. The servers were nice, however, trying to get us out as they wanted to leave.
