Experience New York City’s largest all-season indoor and outdoor rooftop bar featuring multiple bars, live DJs, bar bites, cocktails, rotating seasonal pop-ups, and epic views of the Empire State Building skyline. Located on the 18th floor, this rooftop bar offers unobstructed views of the Empire State Building and is situated in the heart of Midtown, just blocks from New York City’s most popular destinations, including Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, the Theater District, and Times Square.

We are a 21+ venue, except during our brunch hours on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 am to 3 pm, which is open to all ages. Physical ID is required; copies are not accepted. All reservations have a 15-minute grace period.
Reservations are optional. Walk-ins and large groups are strongly encouraged.

Our server never came to take our order unless we called her over for drinks order then for dinner order and finally to leave and pay ! It was a little ridiculous

5:15 pm reservation in a non crowded ‘restaurant’ service lacked. Took nearly 50 minutes for a drink to arrive. Cool decor for photos. Great music. Food was good enough.

Disappointing Experience Despite Beautiful Scenery Magic Hour Rooftop has a stunning view and beautiful decore—there’s no denying that. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. We waited an excessive amount of time just to be acknowledged, and the staff seemed uninterested and overwhelmed. The menu was underwhelming, with limited and uninspired choices that didn’t match the hype of the venue. It’s a shame that such a beautiful setting is overshadowed by poor service and a lackluster dining experience. Definitely not worth the visit.

I was so excited to take my daughter (home from college) and my sister (visiting from out of town) to Magic Hour for the Blooming Rooftop experience. I booked our table three weeks in advance, and we all dressed summer chic, ready for the perfect photo ops. After all, this place is known for being Instagram-worthy, right? Unfortunately, when we arrived, we learned that the entire side of the restaurant with the Blooming Rooftop display was closed for a private event. We weren’t even allowed to walk through and take a quick photo before it started, which would have been enough to avoid this negative review. Our server was wonderful and apologetic, and it was clear she had only just found out herself. The team offered us a round of drinks and pastries to make up for the situation, which we appreciated, but it still didn’t make up for the disappointment of missing the family photos we were so looking forward to. If I had been notified in advance, either during booking or via email or text (they have my number), I would have gladly rescheduled. That heads-up would have completely changed the experience. Advice to Magic Hour: Consider offering a gift card to disappointed guests for a future visit. It’s a simple gesture that shows goodwill and gives people a reason to come back and enjoy the experience they were hoping for. Advice to future guests: If you’re planning a visit to the Blooming Rooftop, especially for the photos, call or email the day before to make sure that area is open to the public. I wish I had.

Super fun atmosphere and tasty drinks. Great bar music but pretty loud. Not comfortable seating but great view of the Empire State Building.

Overall, not our type of place, claim of being a rooftop bar is a bit extreme. The space we were in was technically a roof but you faced into the building and had no view. Poor set up. The second bar had a small outside area and a better view but was overloaded with fake flowers. It was gaudy but again some people were really enjoying it.

Overall my experience wasn’t the best. Staff wasn’t attentive. Service took very long. Wait times were prolonged by not being able to find waiters. On my reservation it said celebrating a birthday and no one acknowledged it, even after being reminded. Other tables weee able to celebrate birthdays. Food was ok. Ambiance and decor made the long drive worth it.

Slow service (not the staffs fault, they’re clearly overworked and had WAY too many tables per section. Food was good, but only offered the brunch menu (very sweet, very limited). Wish we could have ordered off the full menu. Beautiful and fun, but mostly people taking pictures. If that annoys you, maybe pick another place. Good place for corporate outings IMO
