    I want to love this place but unfortunately I do not because of the menu and low value. The menu is all over the place and does not offer appetizers. When we asked, it was a small or large salad or the mussels. Everything else is miniature sized and entree pricing. I had the duck leg which was prepared well but the duck definitely needed salt, more flavor. My partner got the pasta which was overrun with carrots (who puts big carrots in pasta??? Just carrots at that?). It definitely felt like I was paying for overpriced hotel food and I was not a hotel guest, but a local resident. Overall this place needs some serious culinary refinement and direction. A+ on the design and ambiance. C+ on service (I had to ask for S&P 3 times and was given 2 pepper mills - duck was cold and only one bite left).

    It may have been an off day, but it was clear that the restaurant was understaffed. As far as I could tell, there were only two people in the kitchen and they were supremely backed up. We were seated around noon and didn’t even get our coffee until 30 minutes later. The croissants we ordered while we waited for our food didn’t show up for another 30 minutes and our food was ultimately served about 90 minutes after we were seated. At that point we were dismayed to find that our French toast was badly burned and our pancakes were undercooked. All that was truly edible was the salad, which was kind of a bummer. I’d give it another chance, but it was a disappointing experience and not what I expected from a Michelin bib gourmand restaurant. I felt terrible for the staff, who were doing their best to keep up and did what they could to make it up to several patrons who had similarly frustrating experiences.

    This was my first time visiting. We decided to have Father’s Day brunch here. The service was pretty good - Hans took care of us and he was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. My only complaint is that the food took extremely long to come out. Our reservation was at 11:30 am and we didn’t get our food until about 1 pm. I don’t know if the kitchen was just backed up on this day or if this is the norm, but we were starving by the time the food arrived. Hans was apologetic, which we appreciated. I would visit again, but I hope the wait time is significantly shorter.

    It was a Friday night and they have live music, that was great. Service was really, really slow but understandable as there weren't many servers. I visited this hotel 3x's that weekend so I definitely like it! The SMASH burger was so delicious!!!!!

    Food was good. The Branzino was overpriced though. Server was friendly but forgot to bring a second drink and forgot to put in one of the meals. Both ended up on the bill though and the wait time for food was very long even though they weren’t busy. I won’t return since there are so many options with the same level of ambiance and good food but better service.

    We had been to American Son some years ago and were excited to go back. But this experience was not nearly as good as last time. We got seated immediately, but 30 minutes later all we had was water. The waiter was friendly and energetic, but he was covering way too many tables to give us much attention: he had to be reminded to tell us about any specials or to make any recommendations about the menu. The wine list was incredibly sparse and out-of-date -- they didn't have the first two wines we ordered, so they ended up selling us a lovely bottle from an even older list at a discounted price. The food quality was also hit-or-miss. Some dishes were quite good, others tasteless and/or marginal in quality. I am hoping this is just post-pandemic reopening pains, but I was disappointed by this visit to American Son. At this time, I wouldn't recommend it, but I am hopeful they will get their swing back. Overall, the experience was still OK, but not enough to make me want to return or recommend it at the moment.

    The food is always disappointing here. It always seems like you're opting for a "hipster" vibe rather than food that simply tastes good. The location + vibe is excellent, just wish the food wasn't always such a disappointing experience.

    From the start, our table was unsteady and moved from side to side. Very limited menu options for a Mother's Day brunch. We ordered two omelets but only one came out....had to remind the waiter that the 2nd one was not served. Not a good experience!!!

    I'm chalking this rough experience to them being understaffed on Mother's day. That being said the whole restaurant was on a Prix Fixed menu so it was unfortunate to see that food was still coming out of the kitchen cold.

    This could be one of the worst restaurants I have gone to in a long time: 1) Waiter: A completely inexperienced, inattentive individual showed up to our table 15 minutes after we sat down. Then he gave us waters and said “be right back.” Then when taking the order, he didn’t know something about an ingredient and, instead of finishing the order taking and then finding out, he disappeared mid-order to get an answer. We barely ever saw our waiter again as he never checked in on us while we waited 45 min for our eggs to arrive. Nor did he check to see if we needed anything after they arrived. Then we were left to wait another 45 minutes for our third course. By the way, it was Mother’s Day and there were plenty of waiters for only 10 tables! 2) Food: a complete disappointment. My red pepper bisque came out cold and unexciting. The gluten free scone was worse than a store wrapped version you buy in Whole Foods’ freezer section. The omelette was just egg with a few veggies. But then there were the “deserts”. The FRUIT & BERRIES was worse than a fruit cup from 7 11. The Lemon Cake was dry and tasteless. 3) Decor: Boring. The table they sat us at required us to push the tables together. I am not sure why this restaurant is still in business. A crisis like the one we just went through surely put us out of our misery as a society from the wretchedness of restaurants like this one.

    Made a reservation for Mother’s Day brunch with my wife. First, the website didn’t say anything about the menu being limited, but that what the case upon arrival. Received a phone call telling us the time limit is 2 hrs (understandable). We ordered from the menu, but they were out of one of the few items we could order. The server was overwhelmed with his 3 tables, and it got worse when more people came in. He also tried charging us for a mimosa we never received. Final verdict: over priced, poor service, and we got out in 2 hours - would have been quicker had the service been better. Disappointing experience.

    We came here for brunch and had an overall bad experience. I ordered a shakshuka and the eggs were raw. We had asked for some bread to go with the dish (what's shakshuka with something for dipping?) and it took over 15 minutes for it to arrive. Espresso machine was down, which I understand happens.. and is outside of anyone's control. The service was not great. We were there for two hours and the waiter only came to our table once. We had to get up a few times when we wanted to order an item. The one thing going on for this place is its ambiance. The restaurant is gorgeous.

    Was very disappointed in my meal. I ordered the yellow curry and it had no tofu. I asked the waiter about it and he said he would go check. He came back with uncooked sliced tofu in a condiment container and said nothing. In addition, the curry tasted like a soup. Extremely disappointed

    The service was very choppy, slow, and apathetic/inattentive m at times. Maybe due to the lack of staffing and motivation? The shrimp dish was so under seasoned that we asked for salt to apply on our own. And the rest of the food was fine, not great, and didn’t justify the pricing.     The food was great - my wife and I came here for our first date anniversary. We enjoyed the quiet and greenhouse ambience as we sat outside. The Eggs Benedict were wonderful, though the amount of “everything but the bagel” seasoning on the avocado toast was a bit decadent. Seasoned potatoes on the side were a pleasant surprise though- loved the flavours. All in all, a quiet and casual afternoon with decent food.
