Home Away from Home for me - the food is as authentic as it can get outside India. And indeed does justice to the famed Chettinad Cuisine and the name it bears.

The prawn 65 (shrimp), paneer tikka masala, and chicken tikka masala were soo tasty I couldn’t stop eating them! Highly recommend the parottas as well. Really hard to find authentic chettinad food in the NYC area so highly recommend!

Amazing experience dining at anjappar! The service was great and the food was served hot and delicious! They have both north and south indian veg and non veg options which was very convenient for everyone’s restrictions. This is the best indian restaurant ive been to in NYC and i will be coming back very soon. We ordered the kulipaniyaram, thali, lassie and superb cocktails!

The decor was poor very minimal , the food was good , but I would have preferred little less salt in my food The spice level was okay for the nature of the restaurant If you like spicy food that’s a place to try at least once for a change . The biryani was supposed to be their specialty did not impress me but one can try Dosa was not upto the mark.

This is the kind of authentic, inspired Indian food that can otherwise be hard to find. Freshly-ground spices, tons of variety. Just get a Thali, or one of the lunch specials with many different dishes, and let it guide your palate.
