1958 Cuban Cuisine
There is Cuban music, Cuban art and scenes of Cuba on the walls. And you can smell the results of culinary work of our authentic Cuban kitchen.
Welcome to 1958 Cuban Cuisine!!
I thought it was cold inside very drafty!
I had to tell them to turn down music 2x!
Food was just plain.....
I like Cuban Pete's in Montclair so much better!
They had a big party on the one side of room and super noisy!
I guess because no carpet on floor just loud!
Won't go back!
Can’t wait to go back! The food was delicious. The menu is exciting and I can’t wait to try some other dishes. The service also could not have been better.
We discovered this place in the summer its amazing!! Food is authentic and fresh!!! Same room for dessert the best FLAN and Tres Leches ever!!!
We loved our dinner there! Three of the four of us had the skirt steak with the chimichuri sauce - it was cooked to perfection! Although it was a bit noisy, we enjoyed all of the action and birthday celebrations. The service was exceptionally friendly and excellent👍
I had Churrasco a La Cubana - so delicious! I look forward to going back and having it again!
Interesting, delicious food. Good service. Convenient location.
The BEST Cuban food anywhere!!! Just like home cooking.
We enjoyed having dinner with friends on Saturday night. The food was great. However, the noise level was too high for me. We could barely have a conversation with the others at our table, without shouting.
Delicious authentic Cuban food on the south side of Westfield. A gem of a place with great food and service. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu and quick to make you feel at home. The atmosphere is loud on the weekends but a great spot enjoy with family and friends. I highly recommend!
Excellent food and service. The only negative is that it's a little loud when it's crowded and you're sitting near the center . I prefer eating outside during the nicer weather than being inside. Overall, I highly recommend.
Always a great time at 1958 Cuban Cuisine! The food is always yummy and the staff is always warm and friendly.
Food was good but place so loud it was painful. Conversation was dreadfully difficult. Chef doesn't heed temperature requests: everything is dry and overcooked.
Always love our experience! Great food and friendly service!
Warm staff, great food
Awesome food and service. What would make this place 5 stars is offering Mojito and Sangria mix!
Delicious food (the oxtail was full of flavor and melting in your mouth), pleasant ambience, great hospitality and service!
Louis the owner was charming and the food was excellent. The oxtail and paella were on point
Great location across from the Westfield train station!
Food was delicious, great service and friendly staff. Even the owner came over to welcome us to the restaurant for the first time. Definitely will be going back.
Let down the restaurant was basic and food not outstanding
Phenomenal food with service to match! I took my husband there for his birthday and he absolutely loved it. My meal was so delicious I didn't want it to end! Fyi: It's byob. Also it's a small place so reservations are best.
Fourth visit and didn’t disappoint. Service was on point and food delicious as always. One criticism is that most of the meat dishes are very well done. I prefer rare meat so would be nice if there was that option.
I'm happy to see a restaurant in this space that has gained some notoriety and some traction. Doesnt get the walk in traffic as the otherside of town. Food was reasonably priced for a BYO. I am not a Cuban food expert. I found it a little bland, but I will go back. Service was excellent. Best flan I have ever had. Wife and daughter loved their meals.
Great Place to eat, But it gets too noisy and everybody is yelling to hear each other.
This is my third visit. Appetizers continue to be great- love the empanadas. I ordered the loom of pork and was surprised to find that it was shredded and very fatty - to some extent this is my fault because I’m told this is typical Cuban. The shrimp dishes are very good. Be aware that there are limited side dishes- and while the menu reads sautéed vegetables what you get is steamed cauliflower and broccoli. Not very exciting.
I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars for everything, like I have in the past, because food & service wise, it deserves it. However, the noise level was so high, we actually couldn’t hear each other (and this was a friends get together-Lots of catching up to do). Sadly, the noise level took away from our overall experience.
My first visit food and service was fantastic Authentic food, great flavor, friendly and efficient staff.
A great addition to the Westfield-Cranford dining scene. 1958Cuban has an authentic menu which makes for new food experiences to those who haven't been or haven't been to other Latin-American countries. I had the shredded beef; the other diners had the mahi-mahi and shrimp. The coconut bread pudding was yummy, too, btw.
I liked everything about it, but it was a bit pricey! For only myself and my husband or bill was $70! I think that's a little over the top for this establishment!
Went here with a friend for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Food was absolutely fantastic and authentic. Even the cafe con leche was to die for. Our waiter was absolutely lovely and the owner even came over and said hello. We will definitely be back! I wish i lived closer! Oh and BYOB is a plus too.
Luis and company are awesome! The for is great! If you haven't been you're missing out!
It was very enjoyable. Service was friendly and checked in several times during dinner to make
sure all was fine. The food was excellent. great place.
Fantastic food fantastic service - A+ experience
Cuban food was delicious. A Restaurant I am sure to return too.
We were greeted by one on the owners in a very friendly and welcoming way on our way in the door. The food was well cooked and not too large of a portion. It was just right. Our bill for 2 with a gracious tip was only $72.00. We brought a bottle of sangria with us although a nice wine would have paired well with our food. I would recommend this place for a peaceful and satisfying authentic Cuban meal. Enjoy.
Food was excellent. Very good service.
Authentic home style cooked Cuban dishes. Dinning here is more like being at a family dinner than being in a restaurant.
We will no longer need to wait for family dinners or make our own to enjoy Cuban food.
We've been here four times and have been totally satisfied!
AND-really nice sized portions to enjoy.
Don't forget to take home portions of congris and maduros to enjoy with dinner at home-you won't be disappointment.
Loved the food but the noise level was so loud my husband and I could not have a conversation.
The Cuban menu was authentic, and delicious. The staff and the owner were accommodating and friendly. Worth the drive from Brooklyn!
Food was excellent, as was the staff. Definitely try the empanadas, They were amazing! I got the Cubano sandwich which was a large portion, very filling.
