   The rooftop bar had a great atmosphere. It was nice to have a couple drinks up there before going down and eating dinner in the dining room. The food was incredible!! Highly recommended!!

   Restaurant is clean and modern. Service was good. Food was subpar. My daughter ordered the cheeseburger which she thought was only a step above McDonald's. The Caesar salad I had was swimming in so much dressing I could not eat it. The pork belly tacos were the ony highlight.

   Surprisingly great. I was caught a little off-guard at first, because the restaurant hadn't appeared as I'd expected, nor was it busy -- as I had anticipated for a Friday evening. All of my apprehension, however, dissolved as I worked my way through the food. My only recommendation would be a larger, more extensive wine list, but being a hotel bar, it may not be reasonable. Great first experience!

   When we first got there, we were asked if we wanted to eat inside, outside, or on the rooftop deck. We chose the rooftop deck and headed up. It wasn’t until we got up there that we learned it was a different/limited menu so we headed back downstairs and chose the outside patio. Everyone was very nice, but i don’t think the staff had much training. When we asked what was in the potstickers (the menu didn’t specify) she told us they were vegetarian. I don’t eat pork or beef so we ordered them. Once they arrived we realized they had meat in them so we asked her to check on the ingredients and she came back to inform us they did have pork in them. Luckily the rest of our party could eat them. The food was ok - the appetizers were better than the main dishes. The drinks downstairs were good. We went to the rooftop for more drinks after dinner and the bartender said they had “Sam Adams Summer Shandy” on draft. My boyfriend ordered that thinking it was Sam Adams Summer Ale and she just got the end of the name wrong, but it was Leinenkugel. My friend’s boyfriend ordered a blue whisky drink which was mostly blue curaçao and included a packet of sugar 🤷🏼‍♀️. Needless to say it wasn’t good. TLDR: Staff is friendly and location and decor are nice. However, food was ok and staff (greeter, server, bartender) did not seem well-trained.

   The menu had plenty of variation in choices and the food was really good. In the end, we felt based on the experience and ambiance, it wasn't a real destination restaurant for us. Very glad we tried it and looking forward to getting back for brunch sometime.

    We ate on a Saturday night and there was hardly a soul in the dining room. The hostess/waitress directed us to the rooftop bar to eat, but it turned out they didn’t serve dinners up there. We felt like she didn’t really want the business downstairs despite the lack of patrons. Anyhow, we headed back downstairs. However, the dinner menu consisted of only five entrees. The choice of wine was lower level, primarily, yet they still wanted $7 per glass. I assume the place is new, and it is in an interesting spot of the city, but they are not ready for prime time yet. I’d give the place a few months if I were reading this review. We probably won’t be back. There’s too may good choices in town to waste another dinner on this place in my opinion.

    I would not recommend Eliza for a brunch buffet. The eggs benedict were awful, the English muffins were rock hard. The buffet was not replenished often, no one was maintaining, cleaning it up. We stacked our used plates on our table and they remained there for most of the meal. It cost me $91 for 3 people and the gratuity was added. All that was served was one mimosa and a bloody mary we got everything else ourselves, you're welcome! The only highlight was the lovely woman at the carving station. We tipped her, she was actually serving people, smiling and friendly. The beef and salmon were delicious. We love Eliza, enjoy the jazz brunch but the Mother's Day buffet was a fail.

    The service was great and the food was delicious. The patty melt is incredible, the Korean chicken sandwich also incredible. This restaurant isn't what you might expect in a hotel. The food was tasty and original and the service was awesome. The environment of the place was comfortable as well. Check this place out, you won't regret it and you will have a very delicious and satisfying meal.

    Jazz Brunch was a lovely event for our family group. The food was excellent (try the cinnamon swirl bread). Only criticism was that the kitchen could not keep up with the full house and the wait was longer than we would have liked. Beautiful space and easy parking.

    Cheeseburger was good, fries very dark, unlike on N. Highland Avenue. Server told us that the salads are large so we shared greens, beets, chèvre and apple salad which was very good.

    While the food was delicious, there were no dining patrons in the restaurant at a 6pm dinner hour....if this is the norm, Eliza wont be around long...not the best location to attract theater or sports crowd dining in town beforehand.

    We really enjoyed this gem and were disappointed it wasn’t busier on a Saturday evening (although the bar was hopping). The food and service were excellent and it has a cool, calming vibe. I had the pork tenderloin over squash ravioli, my husband had the Korean fried chicken thigh sandwich, and our guest had the gnocchi. All were quite tasty as were the 4 different cocktails we tried. We will definitely be back.

    Excellent food and service. If you would like to escape the business of Southside just walk over the bridge to Eliza.. We had a fantastic service and food. Highly recommended restaurnat.

    We had the special Valentine's day dinner package. Outstanding! Well balanced dishes with subtle and yet complex flavors. My only complaint was there was no bread to clean up the incredible broth from the main. Pleasant server, and very relaxing atmosphere. The acoustics are very good here. We often bring my Father-in-law for the brunch, because he can enjoy the conversations as well. Thanks, Doug

    This is a new restaurant in a recently opened hotel. We went for restaurant week in Pittsburgh. The food was very good and the portions were substantial. Service was excellent with a very attentive waiter. Although the decor was modern the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We went during the week so the noise level was low. The cost was reasonable and given nearness to Oakland it was a great alternative to dining in Oakland.

    Eliza is a hotel restaurant, and since the hotel wasn't busy there weren't many people in the place. So, while it was quiet, it was also a bit lonely. The food was good, we had a couple of appetizers, the brussels sprouts were delicious as was the korean fried chicken. A couple of us had burgers which were good burgers -- not too large and well cooked on a delicious bun. My sons had fries which were delicious. The service was adequate though not very professional. A bit too chummy in an intrusive manner. I will go back to this restaurant in the warmer months when the roof is open -- because the food was good and not too expensive.

    We had Thanksgiving Dinner at Eliza. It was delicious, well presented, fresh, good service. It was wonderful. We will go next year for Thanksgiving. We will go back for brunch.

    We went to Eliza for Thanksgiving dinner, so while we can't comment on their regular menu, the family-style midafternoon holiday dinner was perfect. The turkey was moist and tender, and the sides were flavorful and abundant. The soup - butternut squash with pumpkin seed and sage pesto - was a standout: a nice presentation and delicious as well. The décor is clean and modern, and the only drawback was that the heat in this recently opened building was not working properly, for which everyone who came to our table apologized even though it was nothing they could help. I will definitely go back to sample their regular menu.

    Great time celebrating friends birthday. Beautiful view of Hot Metal Bridge. Staff from management to server to bartender were just great. Food was delish- we had apps- Babba Ghonoush, Sprouts and peppers.

    What a disappointment! There are not any other dining options close to this new hotel, so it is devastating than the restaurant is so bad - and it is bad in every way. The service is amateurish and negligent, as if no one has ever worked in a restaurant before. The food is disgusting (grilled shishito peppers hardly cooked; falafel dusty dry; burger “had to be cooked medium well” [so why offer it]). And plan to wait and wait - to be seated, to order, for your food, and to pay. Never again.

    The corn beef hash is delicious. However, we waited more than 50 minutes for our brunch and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. There was no explanation, no apology, and no compensation. With so many choices of places to visit, this will make us think a second and third time before returning. Also, the sound of the air conditioning was very loud with a deep rumbling that really bothered two of our party. We mentioned that to the waitress who explained that once the music was turned on, we would not hear it, but we did not hear any music during our 2 hour meal, just the air conditioning's constant deep rumbles.

    Really can’t give a review since we never had any service. Was seated in a dining room with 2 waitresses working and maybe 6 tables occupied. After 15 minutes sitting there, not even water offered, and hearing one employee apologizing to the 4-top next to us about the poor service, we decided to head out. I think they need to do a soft-opening, if they hadn’t already...(or again if they had).
