Mike was a terrific server—knowledgeable and warm. Food was either delightful (Brussels sprouts, sweet potato “fries”) or so-so (mushroom soup, flat bread). Wish other staff kept water glasses full, cleared more quickly.
Server was knowledgeable and personable. Food was good but...my (high) expectations weren't met completely. Overall, a welcome addition to our local dining options. I will go back and hope for an even better experience.
Great place, great experience, nice ambiance........................................,
It was noisy and crowded. We are not hip. This is not for anyone who is not hip.
It should not advertise itself as upscale pub food. It is a bar scene.
This place is mixed. Interesting drink menu and some tasty and innovative bar drinks. Penicillin gets a thumbs up as does the whiskey sour. Wine was good but had to request a glass that was clear and clean. Food needs help. The eggplant appetizer was very good. But a filet mignon should never ever ever be chopped up and served in unrecognizable bits with equally unrecognizable chunks of potato, mushrooms, and broccoli all in a uniform brown. The cheesy gunk on top was cold and unappetizing. The Uber salty bouillon/Worcester sauce was terrible. And the bronzino, while tasty, was on a greasy bed of sautéed carrots. Flavor was good but greasy fish is a surprise.
Funny enough as soon as dinner was put down we realized we had ordered the identical meals the last time we were here. Not many items on the menu and the one vegetarianish entree was spoiled with veal broth.
So. Didn’t like the entrees then or now. If they can fix the food issues the place would be good. Some good points but I think I’d stick to the small plates. Except the soggy flatbreads.
Keep at it— the location is good and drinks are great. Service and people are also good!
Had been here for lunch a few months ago and disappointed. However recent dinner was delicious. The charred octopus and branzino were outstanding. That said the noise level on a week night was unbearable and the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired
Great food-loved the pretzel rolls, the smoked carrots, the chicken and the burger. Also had a homemade snickers bar for dessert that was fantastic!
It took forever for someone to take our order.
The service was good and our waitress was very nice, unfortunately most of our food was not. The brussel sprouts were the highlight, very yummy. For our entrees we ordered the roasted chicken which was very dry and the short ribs which were too fatty to eat. Additionally, we noted when making the reservation through OpenTable that we were celebrating a birthday, and no one inquired when we arrived or during the course of our meal.
Went once for dinner - love the menu and choices!! Went second time for Sunday meal - very abbreviated and not very healthy options. Vibe was very bar hang out to drink as opposed to gathering for Sunday meal or with fun friends. Not festive or inviting...
If bruch stays same, I won’t get back for anything but dinner. If this was my first visit, I wouldn’t return. I’d like to see more thoughtful, diverse, and balanced (healthy and indulgent) options on “brunch” menu. Maybe some cooler vibe for all...live music, more inviting outside seating, Nage tv’s and heaters outside? Lots of options...but defining needs a lift
Great new place. We needed a place just like this in our neighbor. Highly recommended.
Amazing service, bartender lastnight was amazing ! Liz and Taylor were awesome as well thank you guys for a great time as always. This has now been my second time in and I’ll be back for a third and forth I’m sure :-)
A great spot in the heart of historic Ardmore. A great job is done in the realm of creative cuisine without being too contrived. The waiter was extremely well informed and detailed selections at length. He talked us into the Ripp Fries, which I would have avoided... I'm glad he did.
An overall solid experience.
Amazing food, service was personal and took time to connect with patrons, cocktails were unique and tasty. Highly recommend this place!
Great food, drinks and more. Awesome place. Truly enjoyed our evening.
Service was very friendly and attentive. The chef is first class, ALL the food
was delicious. I had the "Crab Louie" and my friend had the Signature Burger,
both dishes were outstanding. We also had some of the many types of Whiskey to try.
Very convenient, went to a show next door at The Ardmore Music Hall. Will Be Back - For Sure.
Ripplewood is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant on the Main Line. The menu is original and the food is delicious. The service at yesterdays lunch was outstanding, with special attention given to the birthday girl, who was my guest. Everyone was friendly, knowledgable and genuinely happy. When you go, do not miss the Brussel sprouts...oh my goodness! I know that sounds crazy, but they are out of this world. The food at Ripplewood is all made in house, and you can tell! Don't miss this very special restaurant and bar.
Simply excellent. Service, food (amazing), drink menu and good seating options, including a secluded patio
My favorite part about this place is the service. Professional yet relaxed. A great place to meet, enjoy a great meal and good drinks. I have been here about 3 times now and cant wait to get back for many more.
Great food. Good Craft Beer. Great place to get together with friends in a casual atmosphere with good food and drink.
Food was what we expected. Service was lacking. To start, weren’t ready for our reservation time (why make a reservation if I’m still going to wait as long as walk-ins???). Water glasses were never more than half full, apps came out at different times, and waitress never stopped by Our table after the main course was brought out.
Good food. Super nice service. Great location next to music venue, convenient to park once, eat and see show.
All staff members were very friendly and accommodating, especially our bartender, Shannon, and the food was outstanding. This place has a nice atmosphere both downstairs and upstairs and has an outdoor section for nice days. Tried the whiskey sampler which was good - will order that again next time. We will definitely visit this place again.
First time dining here - staff was absolutely pleasant and food was incredible! We didn't have anything leftover afterward, very good!
This is the second time that I have eaten at Ripplewood. It has a great ambience in the bar area. We ate upstairs which is a little bit quieter. The waitress was great-very upbeat and happy to recommend things. The service was great by waitress and servers. We ordered several plates to share. Everything was delicious. Brussel sprouts were fantastic. The Charred Octopus was delicious! I feel the portion size is a little small for the price. The drinks are priced similar to other restaurants in the area. I would definitely recommend it and will go back again.
First time here. Brunch menu looked good and all the food we ordered was excellent. Great brunch cocktail options. I recommend the Bloody Dragon.
Waitress was attentive knowledgeable and overall great service!! The brussels sprouts were delicious as well as the smoked octopus. Burger was outstanding. Really enjoyed the margarita and also had a zombie which was very strong & delicious. Ended meal with a warm brownie - cookie with vanilla ice cream in a mini skillet- omg good! Great vibe and plan to go back with friends this fall!
We went for Friday dinner - definitely need a reservation, though there is bar seating. We enjoyed this new place - good food, lively, good service, not quiet and intimate but fun and energetic. Adrienne, our server, was helpful and attentive. We sat at a hightop near the bar, which was fine (though legroom was weird for my 6' husband), didn't get to check out upstairs. We went for 4 sharables plus a dessert and two drinks. Did not walk away stuffed, but were happy with quantities. Highlights were eggplant dip, raw tuna app, caesar salad and "brookie" (brownie/choc chip cookie combo). Rose sangria was tasty and not too sweet. Will happily return.
Terrific overall experience! Can’t wait to go again!
First time visitors on our way to a concert so didn’t have time to sit around. Didn’t tell the waiter Mike this because he was quick with everything without conpromise. Very pleasant experience and I shall return
We loved it here. We had the Zucchini & Corn Flatbread which was so good. The cheese plate was awesome and there was a Dulce de Leche sauce that was such a great and new alternative to honey. My favorite drink was the Snapple Facts - vodka, peach, and basil. Delicious!
The savory swiss cheese sticks were served with the tastiest pesto sauce made with a tangy olive oil, and I couldn't get enough of the steak tartar. You could tell the meat was fresh. For the entree, we had the Brisket, which was delicious, succulent, and definitely enough meet for two! Kudos to the chef. We will be back.
Great addition to Ardmore! Food and service are excellent!
Great new neighborhood spot zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I was looking forward to checking this place out after hearing so many people recommend it. If it was not for our waitress Erica, I probably would have walked out before we even ordered anything. I would have walked out because nothing annoys me more than making a reservation and being seated at a high top table next to the bar. The tables and stools were super uncomfortable and I couldn’t cross my legs. At 8:00 on a Thursday night - these apparently the only tables available. My husband enjoyed his whiskey and I enjoyed some red wine. We had 4 shareable plates - the street corn was my favorite, the fries which were good, the grilled shrimp were a little cold but tasty and the cheese board. But Erica saved the evening - she was helpful, attentive and very personable. I don’t know if we would every go back for dinner unless we go out with a group and could get a regular table but the food and drinks were good and worth checking out.
Was great, a teeny bit rushed, but otherwise excellent
Very good food. The burger is phenomenal. The beer list could have more of a regional focus with better IPA’s. Great addition to the neighborhood.
Cool spot with great food and service. Friendly staff and great “gastro-pub” fare. Worth a visit.
Robust meats. All items far too salty, and or saturated and soggy . Lighten the sauce on everything, short sell the salt and allow the foods and flavors to be. Too heavy overall for portions. I'm sure they will do well if they find balance. Lovely staff and culinary craft.
Great food and amazing drinks! A little pricey but worth it for a fun night out with friends!
