   Great entrance to start of your dinner experience. Loved the food there. Get the dessert platter and try the bougatsa! Great place for a date.

   My and I had a great meal at Hydra with another couple (best friends). We had never noticed it or heard of it before that night. The service, the drinks and the food were amazing! Not your typical Greek restaurant look but very unique and great atmosphere. The Saganaki and the four spread appie was a great way start. We tried the organic Chicken souvlaki, lamb chops and spanakopita. All were beautifully seasons and grilled/cooked to perfection. Super impressive.. Our friends aren’t keen on seafood or we would have indulged in one of the platters. They look incredible!! Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert to finish things off… We’ll definitely be back for another time and can’t wait to check out the other dishes. Can’t wait!!

   Absolutely delightful! We love this type of cuisine- fresh, tasty, whole fish deboned table side, served with a smile. We had a superb server, Erenee who made fantastic recommendations and looked after us with care, as did the rest of the team. Beautiful and large restaurant, street and far parkades steps away. Great location for a walk afterwards. The happy hour specials (drinks and food) were also fantastic.

   We were a group of six people, and the server helped us to decide what to eat. The result was amazing. We had some appetizers which h we shared, then we had a four-pound salted fish and a whole leg of lamb, with associated vegetables - delicious, not to mention the wine and cocktails.

   At a glance, one might mistake Hydra for a Greek restaurant. It’s not blue and white, but many of the menu items are what you’d find in your neighbourhood Greek place. But no Greek salad (!) and no Retsina… unless we missed it on the wine list. The decor of this second floor establishment is very attractive. We were a bit taken aback by the advice that we had an hour and a quarter to finish our meal. Is this a fast food place? But service was fairly prompt, and we were looking for a light meal. It was Valentine’s Day, and the room was very busy. Our dinner for two consisted of the Ceviche, the Prawns, and the Octopus, paired nicely with a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet. All were delicious. We would go back, but we would hope not to be told that there’s a 1.25 hour time limit next time.

We also offer a fabulous Greek salad, titled the Tomato Salad. We are quite famous for the offering. We try to not give dining times, as we want our guests to enjoy themselves. I am sorry you were given a limitation. I presume this occurred on Valentine's day or during the DOV Festival. I will follow up with the team and you will more time to relax and enjoy yourself on your next visit. Claire

   First time in Vancouver and we decided to drop by Hydra. The service was a little bit off as we didn’t get greeted by a hostess and had to talk to a server to ask about getting a table. Once we got a table, the place was really fancy and the ambiance was very great! Just wished that the server was a little bit more helpful. He would check on us time to time but it was a bit hard to ask about anything from the menu as he seems a bit in a rush (there weren’t that many people there). Sometimes, he will just be standing in the middle of the room looking at other guests so it was a bit hard to get his attention. Other than that, the food was amazing, the bathrooms were clean (there was an audiobook playing about Greek Mythology which was a first for me).

    The service was amazing…not only from our server, but everyone else working together as a team. The food was absolutely Devine!!! My husband had the prawn souvlaki dinner and I got the steak souvlaki and we swapped a skewer each. Wow…. The tiger prawns were giant and there were 8 of them! New favourite place to dine forsure

    Amazing! I had to change my reservation and I was able to arrive earlier, luckily for us it was happy hour and we had a delicious dinner for a very reasonable price, I love greek food and this place didn’t disappointed me, definitely recommend
