When we arrived on time for our reservation, the hostess told us she had no tables and none would be available any time soon. No apologies, only option was to sit at a communal table - which we eventually did.

Please don't waste your time or money on this restaurant--helping them out of the restaurant business would be a mercy to everyone involved. This restaurant was almost empty at 8:00pm on a Friday night, which should already tell you all you need to know. The food was flavorless (not so easy to achieve, for a Korean restaurant). They charge $5 extra for sizzling plates for bulgogi, which arrived cool enough to touch. Worst of all was the careless & sometimes disdainful service--as items arrived haphazardly, drinks and food were delivered almost randomly, and they didn't seem to notice or care.

I love this place, food, drinks and service are all perfect. The only thing is the ventilation which could be better. Strong cooking smells will tend to linger in your clothing.

Food and drinks were excellent (LOVED the crispy cauliflower, bacon kimchi, and al four cocktails we tried!) but one of our entrees came out nearly 10 minutes after the other one, which meant part of mine got cold while waiting for my date to receive his. Completely understand that it got very busy, but the dining room was practically empty when we got there (which was earlier than our reservation time) and there shouldn’t be that big of a gap in timing when serving two people at the same table.

We made a reservation. When we got there, the front staff had a long discussion away from us. They came back and asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar or in the front room. Our reservation was for a table. They brought up that Happy Hour prices were available at the bar only. I asked if they had a table and they said yes, but that Happy Hour was only available at the bar. Clearly, they had overbooked their reservations and wanted us to not take a table. We took seats at the bar. It was dirty. We asked for it to be cleaned. The bartender reached over and wiped one part of what was dirty. I asked for the towel and wiped off all of the parts of the bar that were dirty in front of us. We ordered and the drinks were fine. The appetizer was fine. The couple seated next to us was served their entire meal while we still waited for our entree. The bartender finally went back herself to get our food. The food was cold. We were dressed to go to a show. We weren't loud. We were on time. Your staff treated us quite poorly. It would take quite a bit to get us to try mokbar again. Mark Harder

We ordered a bunch of apps, all of which were mostly tasty, but VERY scallion-forward. If you are not a huge scallion fan, steer clear of the japchae dumplings, fried veggie pancakes, and brussels sprouts. Also, their kimchi portions were very small! The waitstaff was excellent, though.

I absolutely loved the food! Even with a gluten sensitivity, I was able to find appropriate food. Drinks during happy hour were inexpensive & very refreshing. Suggest early arrival because it seemed to quickly fill up after 6pm.

A delightful meal! Great scallion pancake. Vegan ramen excellent as was the hot stone bi bim bap. The place is beautifully designed. Service great. One of the best restaurants in the neighborhood!

Really good Korean kimchi bacon ramen! Good service and cool decor. Minor area of improvement - booth seating is a bit uncomfortable as it’s cramped and you hit your legs on the table bottom. I will definitely be back!

They were very accommodating when we had a couple of extra people added to our reservation. The large tables in back fit us well. We were able to hear each other well since the noise level was low. The food was delicious! We shared various appetizers and main courses even though the mains seemed arranged like a meal for one person. But it worked for a family style meal. The K-pop chicken was yummy—we ended up ordering more of that appetizer in the middle of dinner!

Food was nice but I made a reservation for my mom and I at a table....they didn't offer a booth- and it was my first visit. They told me I had to request it and won't allow happy hour drinks in the dining room....my 75 yr old mother wasn't comfortable and weren't very accommodating...such a shame as the food was very good.

Excellent option near BAM and Barclays Center. Good cocktails. Terrific home-made kimchi. "Rice sets" like a Korean "bento". Companions enthusiastic about their ramen bowls. Attractive, comfortable venue. What's not to like?

When we got there, they said they couldn't hold our reservation and that there was something wrong with their system, so I shouldn't have ever been able to make the reservation to begin with. They didn't try to make any accommodations for our situation.

Had never been here and waiter was very helpful in ordering. Communal tables are s not odd but it worked. Food is very good but not great. You won’t rave about anything here but you’ll have a nice dinner and a good time.

We ordered the galbi dumplings, a bulgogi ramen bowl with a sauce rather run a broth and the classic ramyun set. Also had pinot noir and the beer and soju shot combo. The drinks were good, the dumplings were amazing and the ramyun was really good. The ramyun portions were giant and the seasonal banchan were great. Servers were informative and friendly, but changed half way through the meal.

Mokbar was great! Our server was very friendly! They had an interesting selection of drinks, that were pretty good. The food was delicious; I would definitely recommend the ho'cake and vegan ramen. It is a little pricey, but the portions are large.

What a find! This place is close to our home but we’ve never noticed it. It has a super cool style with industrial modernist tones. I bought a Gilt voucher and accidentally let it expire (2 days prior) but the manager came over and still honored it! He also chatted with us, gave us recommendations and was incredibly friendly and attentive. We got a flight of infused soju, seasonal kimchi and ramen. All of it was delicious! All of the kimchi’s were very distinct and so good! The soju’s (pineapple, wasabi?, and sesame) were so tasty and the ramen was yummy. Now that we found this place, we’ll be back! Definitely recommend.

Went on a Thursday, food was interesting especially the Watermelon matcha. Service was a bit slow due to the restaurant being busy, but out waiter Harry was outstanding and very attentive. Wish more restaurant staff was like him. Will absolutely be going back with a bigger group and will be spreading the word about this gem.
