I have been to Restaurant X for brunch several times and it never disappoints. The traveling buffet always has options galore, and always delicious. The fixed price includes unlimited champagne, but if you must pay for anything else you order from the bar. Seems like there should be an option for at least one complimentary cocktail for non-bubbly drinkers.
Love this restaurant but the back room needs some updating.
My wife and I found ourselves free from the children and decided to frequent the restaurant we go to for special occasions
Found a nice wine at the bar and had a bottle with dinner. My wife had the tuna and I had the venison. Excellent presentation and delicious.
Despite the good food, the restaurant decor and upkeep leaves a lot to be desired. Upon entering, there is a musty smell. The main entrance chandelier had a few lightbulbs out. The chairs at the initial table we were seated at actually had stains on them - we requested a change to a different dining room. The ladies room was quite dirty with broken sink handle No one is keeping an eye on the appearance of this place. We have been coming to this restaurant for over 40 years. Until we hear about a complete overhaul, it will sadly be our last visit.
Fantastic evening, better than we remember after being away for a long while. Every bite of every meal was excellent. Every dish was prepared with attention and care. We were not rushed and never unattended by all servers. Will not wait so long for the next dinner here. Highly recommend Beef Wellington. It was perfect.
I have been coming to first Bully Boy, now Restauant X, for over 40 years. That says something about this restaurant. To me it’s a very special place to dine. Never had a problem with the food or service.
Wonderful as always We love the beef Wellington and the service is always excellent and most professional. It's not inexpensive, but not outrageous and well worth it--especially for a special occasion. Service is exceptional too.
Really good food, service needs improvement.
Overall ver nice
Upscale but not stuffy. Great food. Great service. Very nice evening!
Restaurant Week menu had a wonderful variety of selections. Food and service was excellent as always!
Great food as always , the service left something to be desired.
Went during restaurant week. The choices for all three courses were very appealing and
allowed for a variety of tastes. The desserts were exceptional . The portions were perfect and those lemony garlic potatoes were delicious. I look forward to going back again.
Even though it was restaurant week and they were packed, we has excellent service and our food was delicious. Can't wait to go back. Try the short ribs, you won't be disappointed.
Restaurant X never disappoints! The service is on point and the food
is beautifully presented and tastes even better! Worth the trip!
Years ago the food was absolutely delicious. Now it was good. The fish dish I ordered was amazing in the past and this time it was not good and I could not even eat it. The tables are close together. the servers kept bumping into my chair as they walked by and no one said excuse me but the waitress we had was nice. The dessert I ordered was supposed to be a warm apple cake but it was not warm and the scoop of ice cream was really a half of scoop.
We went there for restaurant week. The food and service were great. They were able to accommodate larger group of people. The only thing is the valet parking where it takes a little longer to get the car in and out.
Service was deplorable! The restaurant is very outdated and looks dirty. Wobbly tables n chairs. Bare lightbulb in the restroom. Saw waitress twice. No second glass of wine for us! The food was very good. Too bad I had such a terrible experience. For the price I expect more.
In the past, this restaurant was really good; however the food was very disappointing this time. We had to send the chicken back because it was dry and tough. We opted for the beef Wellington and the salmon. Both were very mediocre. Not going back there!
Excellent service and food!
My husband and I are fans of Peter Kelly restaurants. I wasn't wowed this time around however. I found the food to be overcooked, losing flavor in most of the dishes. The ambience is still nice, and the service was fine with a very attentive bus person who made up for the waitress taking the check paid without any acknowledgment (we left a standard 20% tip). I think the bus people at more elegant restaurants should know not to clear plates until all are finished.
First time out without the baby. Almost 6 months old.
The only problem we encountered was the hostess did not provide the every day menu as it was restaurant week. I would have ordered off the menu as I love the Beef Wellington. I wish Mr. Kelly would put it in the Restaurant Week menu.
Food good except dessert, which I usually find disappointing here
Service was not at usual level but adequate
Had fun will continue to go
Great dining experience. Friendly attentive service. Artistic presentation.
We have been coming to this restaurant since we moved to the county in 1967 and it has always been our choice to celebrate special family occasions. Our grandson's bar mitzvah and my 50th birthday were held here as well as engagements and other celebrations. This particular evening was our 56th anniversary and this is the first time since 1967 that I have ever given this kind of review. As always, the food was truly wonderful, but the service was not good at all. I know it was restaurant week, which was not a consideration when we booked, but we have been many times during restaurant week and never encountered this problem. The wait staff was very harried and we had to ask multiple times for things. We were also disappointed that the lemon tarte and the special Restaurant x chocolate cake were not available. Would I let this stop us from coming back ? No, but I felt you should be aware of this and perhaps hire additional staff dueling restaurant week.
It was all wonderful...except the noise level. We were in a room with several tables that were very boisterous and we could barely hear each other across the table. Perhaps one of the rooms could be served for parties of 4 or less so that there would be less chance of a "party" group.
food was good. a bit on the expensive side. nice place getting a bit dated. men's room very dated.
would go back for special occasion .
The Sunday Brunch is an experience. Endless champagne and 15 -18 Tapas served in a reasonable sequence. In the sun room or by the fireplace, you can have a conversation.
Great food. Great waitress. Great evening. Very busy during Restaurant Week but once seated the evening went wonderfully. Waitress was very attentive and the quality of each dish was top of the line. While the segmented room set up can lend to noisy spots, we were able to carry on a conversation without extra effort to be heard. Overall the dining experience was top of the line. While it was our second reservation there in the past couple of months, we already are planning our next visit.
Restaurant X is one of my favorite restaurants. On this occasion it was complete chaos. People were 20 deep crammed into the entrance way waiting for tables. Im not sure what caused this. It ha never happened on any previous visit
good food, good service , but too noisy to have an intimate evening
I frequent this restaurant, so know it’s not the standard, but the service was so poor, my friend and I ended up skipping dinner and just having apps and dessert.
Always good. Never ever had a bad meal here. The menu runs the gamut form traditional dishes like beef wellington to global and eastern delights like thai shrimp and miso cod. The sunday brunch is AMAZING!! come hungry.
Amazing food and amazing staff. They helped me plan out my engagement proposal and helped make my night something we will never forget.
Went for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. Menu offerings were varied. All our selections were well prepared and excellent. In addition, Management had the good idea to offer a few reasonably priced wines bottles. The service was very attentive, prompt and professional. Bravo
WENT HERE FOR HUDSON VALLEY RESTAURANT WEEK LUNCH. EXCELLENT PRICE FOR AN EXTRAORDINARY MEAL. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS FARM TO TABLE MY HUSBAND HAD THE SALMON TARTAR AND I THE FOIE-GRAS BEEF APPETIZERS. AMAZING!! I HAD AN APPLE BRANDY AND MY DATE A HUDSON WHISKEY COCKTAIL. FABULOUS! MAIN DISHES WERE PORK TENDERLOIN WITH FARRO AND KALE AND YUZU SALMON SO TASTY! AND FOR SWEETS THE ORGANIC CARROT CAKE AND CHOCOLATE TIMBALE WITH CARAMEL WAS DELISH. STAFF WERE AMAZING. GREAT CHOICE.
Bingo! Peter Kelly and Brother and Co. do it again.
This was not my first time at Restaurant X and this visit was excellent. On a cold, winter night we appreciated the warm, cozy atmosphere and decor even more than previous warm weather visits. The salmon tartare and the burrata appetizers were delicate and pleasing with the accompanied greens while the short ribs entree was fork tender. The homemade cinnamon gelato was a nice complement to the crispy apple fritters. A nice red wine and cappuccino rounded out the meal. The service was pleasant and attentive regardless of a full dining room.
I grew up going to Bully Boy, and as the years passed the service, food and ambience all dwindled away. The service help didn't even speak english!! REALLY this is allowed) It is not anything that it should be for the price of the meals today. I will not return anytime soon.
Amazing quality. Great atmosphere
