Food is great one of the best in the area.
Deserts - need improvement, tried it twice and no more, they need a new baker.
Ambiance- very nice, but seriously replace that old carpet already.
Special restaurant for a special occasion. Food and service exceptional.
Arrival: We were seated in what I call the yellow room (just after the reception desk on the left). All the chairs had stains on them.It was very cramped and bright.
Main course: After asking receptionist for a seating change we were accommodated by the fireplace, not as private but far better than the yellow room. Our server was very nice but the food was mediocre. We ordered the beef Wellington and the Ahi tuna. The tuna was over cooked and the beef Wellington tasted like hamburger on a bun. The filet was not tender at all. I asked for medium rare but got it medium well.
Special occasion: I had left instructions during the reservation that it was our anniversary and it was not acknowledged. On the website there are photos indicating anniversary celebrations.
Desert: we shared the citrus pound cake. The cake was little dry. It should of been more moist
I’m a big fan of supporting local dinning but my first experience at Bully X was not pleasurable
at this day and age restaurants should have a gluten free menu, this place did not have a gluten free menu. In addition they were outragely overpriced.
Food, drinks and service were excellent. The only issue I had was the cost. Prices were a bit steep for this area and are my only complaint. I would go back for special occasion.
Great food but it stops there
Handicap parking / u take ur life in your hands
Handicap entrance locked
Service slow waitress kept apologizing
Place smells of mildew
AC ducts black
Needs to close down and do a complete makeover inside and out including driveway and broken picture window
Everything about this restaurant is fabulous. The food is delicious and their specialty cocktails are incredible. We always enjoy this place but this particular day the service was very very slow which was disappointing. And it was practically empty. But I would still recommend it to anyone and will continue to visit.
Food was very good , but service was terrible, 10 mins there before asked if we wanted a drink , took over 5 mins to come back with 2 beers , didn’t know how to pour a beer into a glass. Asked for 2 glasses of wine to go with entree, never received the wine , had no clue how to waitress. she wanted to take our order before we even got our drinks , no clue
Awesome service from Giselle and Celeste. Both were super attentive and professional.
Real, good food provided by this chef, who has 2 or 3 other restaurants in the region.
The Sole was delicious, one of the best I’ve had.
Across the Beef Wellington was great.
Creme Brûlée was fine.
We were there to celebrate my mother in law s 89th birthday and the staff made her feel special. That along with great food made it a woonderful memory. Thank you to Peter Kelly and his staff.
While the food is excellent and it’s a nice ambiance, this was my 5th time there over many years. EVERY time I go the servers are stretched way too thin and service suffers badly. Given the prices and poor service we decided we won’t be returning. Couple that with a bathroom that needs renovation and much needed air conditioning, it’s unfortunate. It’s so close to being a very special place but misses the mark since those same issues have never been addressed.
Peter Kelly’s restaurants all are outstanding. The food, service and ambiance are extraordinary. And everyone who interacted with me and my date - Jonathan the valet, the young lady who checked us in as we entered and our waitress Arra made us feel welcome, special and like family. Thank you a wonderful experience!!!
Service was a little rushed. Only 5 minutes between appetizers and the entree. Next time we will wait to order our entree until our appetizers are served. Otherwise, perfect!
Went for the 20 course brunch. Not a single served platter was more than mildly warm. Meat cuts were low quality but too cold to eat anyway. Service was poor overall. One server tried to be helpful but had to find her to get anything more than water. Was never offered a drink the entire 3 hours we were there. Food was terrible and again no one even asked.
Experience was so bad I wouldn’t eat here again for free.
Everything was delicious, service was timely and the restaurant itself was very relaxing, will be back.
The most extraordinary wild mushroom bisque I have ever had the privilege to enjoy.
We had a delicious meal. The service was mainly good. We had to remind our waitress to bring out a drink that was requested with the meal. The food was delicious. I let them know about our anniversary, and they wrote happy anniversary on our dessert plates which was a very nice touch. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. A definite do-again!
Wonderful dinner as usual. Mary gave terrific service and it was nice seeing Peter.
Very good food, excellent service. Good menu in terms of variety.
The space is very dated and needs renovation desperately. Broken windows, stained carpets and banged up walls. Waiter appeared disinterested however the manager was knowledgeable and helpful.
Knowing what the chef/owner is capable of left me disappointed in the food. He has done so much better in the past/elsewhere.
The food and wine were both outstanding. The Beef Wellington was done to perfection. The waiter moved us to a more spacious table as we were there on a week night and it was not that crowded. We were not rushed, and enjoyed conversation and great food at a leisurely pace.
My moms birthday and we had a wonderful experience with the wait staff each person was over the top polite knowledgeable on the menu. the bartender was just wonderful and personable. She let us taste some wines at the bar before selecting a glass making the experience very nice. Food was tasty and well presented. I had the Berkshire pork chop was cooked perfectly. On the downside, Tired decor time for an update to this century. Overall, a pleaser
Our party of three went to Restaurant X / Bully Boy for dinner. The food and service were very good. The flavors in the mussels in broth and the soft shell crabs with potatoes and mushroom appetizers were wonderful. I had the Beef Wellington entrée – it was delicious. Then we ordered dessert - coconut layer cake, crème brulee and caramel cheesecake. They were bland and dry. I was hoping for a better ending to my wonderful meal. Overall, the food and service were great and worth spending more on. I would definitely go back.
I've been going to the Restaurant X & Bully Boy Bar for over 10 years now and it remains to be my favorite Sunday brunch place. One has to pace himself to enjoy the 18 course meal to the end and it gets better and better climaxing with the rack of lamb. The service is good, however the waiter staff seem a bit rushed and they have spilled some sauces on the table clothe very close to my clothe. The noise level is extremely high, so definitely not for a quite romantic brunch. I will definitely go back!
Service was great! We were celebrating so we were a little loud but servers laughed with us a did the patrons at close tables. It was a fun evening. The best part was our delicious meals! So happy we decided stay close to home.
Always a great meal. I had the Beef Wellington and she had the veal hanger steak. Excellent!
Restaurant X is a special place! The wait staff was extremely professional, and the atmosphere was cozy and charming. And of course the food was exceptionally prepared and we enjoyed every dish we ordered.
Good food & service
As usual food and service is excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant needs a major renovation.
Food, ambience and service were very good however, the courses were served too quickly so dinner was over in an hour and 15 minutes. I would suggest slightly spacing courses to allow for tine to enjoy a family dinner.
Excellent service and great food. I give it two thumbs up!!!!
We took some friends to Restaurant X to celebrate Father's Day and really enjoyed the Sunday Brunch experience. The staff is courteous and attentive and the food is very good. They cook a lot for Sunday brunch so try not to eat everything and pace yourself!
I always adore the Restaurant X brunch. This is the first time back after several years. One thing I noticed is a significant amount of meat. I am not a vegetarian and enjoy meat. However, perhaps a good idea is for the restaurant to remove a couple of meat courses - we had Canadian bacon soon followed by pork and soon followed by ham - for example. My suggestion is to add some interesting and wonderful vegetarian courses in lieu of so many meat courses. The pastas offered were outstanding. Desserts amazing. Thank you!
Peter Kelly is the ultimate restauranteur ! the food the staff , the location all superb.
I've always been a fan of Xavier's Restaurants, and although the food is great, the overall look of this restaurant has gone downhill quite a bit. When driving up my husband and I thought it was closed - it looked dark and the grass was severely overgrown. We were seated in the main room that had a lot of windows - and unfortunately the sun was setting and they have NO blinds at all.
All customers facing that window were blinded for 45 minutes to an hour. To top it off, the windows were filthy and one was even cracked from top to bottom. One window had an old wood slat blinds, but it wasn't one of the windows with the sun coming in, so wasn't helpful at all.
We most enjoyed having a nice cocktail at the bar before dinner - the bartenders were very friendly and the bar area was very cozy and warm. The food was good, the wait staff were friendly and accommodating and it was a 'nice' anniversary dinner - but I don't see us going back here for our anniversary next year. We will go back for dinner I'm sure, but I can think of a dozen other places I wish I had gone for this special occasion dinner once all was said and done.
Restaurant X used to be a favorite of mine. But when I was there a couple of weeks ago I was quite disappointed in the service, the food and general appearance of the restaurant. The dinner was at best adequate.
We had a window seat looking out over the pond and parking lot. The parking lot is a disaster waiting to happen. The window in the other room that could be seen from our seats was completely whited out , I’m assuming from moisture due to poor sealing , the carpet going down the steps into the room is worn , the chair arms were all worn and shaky and I tripped on the rug while leaving because it was not smooth.
The waitress was not properly trained , not her fault , but still annoying.
I don’t think I will be returning. I dined at this restaurant quite often even bringing friends and relatives who live out of town. I used to go many times without reservations to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat at the bar.
Quite a disappointing experience.
Food was excellent. Service was very pleasant but extremely slow. 3 hour dinner. Delays to get even water.
