We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and we'll definitely return.
I been here many times and it been better when it comes to service. The food as always is amazing
But for some reason the place was
More load than most time
One of the wine glasses was dirty with a bit of wine left from the last service, no apolgoy as we brought it to their attention. The bus boys pouring the water and placing the bread down did not say one word of acknowledgement. We could barely understand the waiter , who seems to have been promoted from Buser to waiter for the night. The service needs attention and the menu needs to be changed it’s been the same for years.
Dining room where we were sitting was very cold! And the service was not on point waited 1/2 hr to order dinner and another 1/2 before we were served appitizers.
I made a reservation at a restaurant week. I did not know that there is no restaurant week menu on Sunday brunch. The restaurant was lovely, but I was very sad that I couldn't eat the restaurant week menu.
Went for Restaraunt Week and as usual, had a great dinner with my family. All the food was delicious and plentiful. The wait staff was very attentive. The only negative is that it seems as though the restaraunt needs some sprucing up. The state of the decor is not commensurate with this caliber of restaraunt. Perhaps either cleaning or replacing the carpets and some painting is in order.
Our dinner was , in one word, excellent. If you get there soon, a great seasonal choice is the flavorful "mushroom cappuccino" (exquisite soup). The St.Peter's Fish (tilapia) was also perfect. We have been here before, and service was always spot on - this time we did have a brand new server (not at all experienced) who tried very hard - and will probably be really good with some experience under his belt. He was, we all agreed, earnest in his efforts to please. We will definitely be back.
We frequented this restaurant in the past and like it, but the service and food quality appear to have fallen substantially. I seriously doubt that we will dine here again.
Great meals but could improve the parking lot (needs to be repaved) and interior could be updated and window cracked
Wonderful place to eat and the seafood is exceptional. Chef James is awesome!
Peter Kelly sure hasn't lost his touch. Always wonderful as both host and cook, he's at his very best during Restaurant Week where his competitive and imaginative instincts come to the fore. Great meal, great vibe, great staff. Huzzah!
The service was very slow. We arrived at 6:30pm and were seated right away. Restaurant was not full at that time. The appetizer was not served for at least 45 mins. Then the entree took a long time and the dessert was served two hours after we were seated. The food was very good but it is hard to sit for a meal for almost three hour. The people seated at the tables near us were served and finished way before we did.
I had a really terrific time here with my family for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. All of the dishes we had were excellent, with good sized portions and delicious food! I would highly recommend it!
Waitstaff was incredibly friendly and very accommodating. Apps and main courses were absolutely delicious for HVRW lunch. I was disappointed by the desserts since they are very sweet, but I have turned away from sugar, so I'm probably not a good judge there. My husband enjoyed them (but did agree they were on the sweet side). I had read some reviews complaining about the decor - we didn't mind it. There are a few scuffs and cracks, but the only one that really stood out was the crack in the window. Otherwise, we felt it was very cozy and comfortable.
I had dinner with a group of 10 people. The restaurant had a wide selection of appetizers and main courses to choose from; everybody raved about the food. The wait staff seemed exceptionally experienced and friendly. We would all definitely return.
Honestly? Food was great. Could use more wait staff during special deal times. But more importantly Mr. Kelly needs to spruce up the place. Lot needs paving building needs paint and touch up on the outside. Just my opinion. My guests thought the same.
Although Restaurant X is a big place, each of the dining rooms has a unique comfort and coziness to it. The food is prepared and presented beautifully with wonderfully balanced flavors. Just like X2O, the dining experience always leaves you happy. The wait staff is very attentive and personable. We love Peter Kelly's restaurants and his well trained staff.
After all these years , this is still the classiest restaurant in Rockland. Their restaurant week lunch is fabulous and very generous portions. The scones and honey with the tea were a great touch. Bravo!!
My wife and I went to Restaurant X during Rockland Restaurant Week. Despite being crowded for a week-night, the food was, as always, excellent and the service was prompt and professional.
I highly recommend Restaurant X.
My only criticism is that I really believe it is time to update the physical facility.
Delicious food and service. One of my all time favorite meals in Hudson Valley.
Even during Restaurant Week, Restaurant X and Bully Boy delivers great choice and amazingly tasting meals.
Good food selections, nicely presented. Great service great wait staff.
Excellent service and delicious food is what keeps us returning.
we had a very nice sunday brunch. about 16 courses one better that the last. is expensive but worth it. am going back in december for brunch again.
Menu for restaurant week was limited. Food was fair to good. Servers were adequate but not good enough for a restaurant with their prices. Chairs were not comfortable. Very old with no padding .
The first thing I noticed about Restaurant X was the great service. My boyfriend and I were provided water, bread and butter within a minute of being seated. The service was great throughout the entire dinner and our water glasses were never half full. The food was just amazing. I cannot explain how good the flavors of the dishes were and would instead recommend anyone to just experience it for themselves. My favorite and most memorable part of the dinner was dessert. I wish I could have spoken to the owner(s) to let him, her or them know that I really appreciate how special Restaurant X made my anniversary. I had selected anniversary as the reason for my reservation booking, but I didn't expect our desserts to have Happy Anniversary written in chocolate sauce on the plates with a candle. 5 stars in every category and 5 stars overall!
Our waitress Veronica was friendly, polite, an very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was served in a timely manner, not rushed, and was cooked to perfection. We had a delightful evening.
We had a great dinner, brought my daughter with us, she loved it.
Food was excellent!!
Service, ambiance, staff and of course the food were amazing. They never disappoint. Our party of four all had different chose different items from the menu and everyone was thrilled with their choice. Salmon, Pork Roast, Ribs, and St. Peters Fish were great. Portions were amble and no one went home hungry. Our thanks to Mr. Kelly and his wonderful staff.
I LOVE coming here, hands down our favorite restaurant anywhere! Wish we could come more often, everything we have ever had here is delicious. (love the brussel sprouts).
We went during Hudson Valley restaurant week. Fantastic meal, we had the short ribs, served with polenta and Brussels sprouts. Excellent choice, we’ll order it from their regular menu the next time we go.
We will return. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service.
I brought my friend for Restaurant Week!! It was outstanding! The food selection was the best and our meal was wonderful!! We weren't rushed at all so we were able to enjoy our meal and each others company. Our server was Pablo and he helped us with our wine selection and our meal. He was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back!!
They food was carefully and lovingly prepared. The options for the menu fit well and were interesting and variable
The wait staff was attentive and happy to be there
The flowers were spectacular and the fireplace ambience was cozy
Went for Hudson Valley Restaurant week but will return often. HVRW menu offered many choices. The gnocchi was out of this world and needs to be a standard. The pork was moist and tender. The best!
Thanks food. Good..service experience good...,
Unfortunately inside and exterior rundown
Embarrassment to bring business clients
Fix facility. Asap...
Lovely lunch during HVRW. I met a friend for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at their wonderful menu. Many times during restaurant week other restaurant’s special menu is somewhat sad and unappealing. This was not the case here. Many interesting choices to decide between. We decided on the butternut squash flan and the gnocchi, both were delicious. For entrees we got St. Peter’s Fish with a bit of Rock Shrimp in tasty sauce and the chicken dish. The sauce on the Rock shrimp was delicious though I wish there had been more as the fish, which seemed like Tilapia, needed the sauce to bring it up to extraordinary. So those bites with sauce were delightful. It was served over basmati rice. My friend enjoyed her chicken dish. Sadly can’t say much about it as I didn’t try any though she enjoyed. We both knew in advance that dessert was going to be too much and we happily took it to go. We did enjoy the Cabernet which came locally from Hudson Valley. Topped it all off with some cappuccino and some wonderful time catching up with each other while enjoying the pond out the window. The rooster and chickens provided much entertainment. Our waiter was excellent. We will be back again.
Been going here for years and Years, but we were so disappointed. Place is completely dated, which we knew but now the food quality has gone down, wife had a fish dish that was sub par and my pork chop was undercooked, huge no no!
The positive side is that now we know and both agreed it will be our last ever visit.
Very disappointing for such a well known restaurant owner.
The fish was dry. Last time we had it it was excellent.
Great food and good service and Very Attentive. Nice ambiance with view of pond but slightly cold on a nice day. Fireplace by Bar was romantic and cozy.
We had roast chicken, beef Wellington and coconut cake. All were good and beautifully presented, the coconut cake is enough for two.
Initial service was a little sluggish in a busy Saturday. After a couple of visits when we hadn’t decided (ok we were yapping) the waiter disappeared and it took 3 tries and ~20 minutes to get him back.
We are by the fireplace near the bar. Pretty.
