Best steak I ever had.
A bit overpriced for the food quality which was good but not great especially for this city. Service was good, but we had trouble hearing our soft-spoken waiter. Kitchen staff enjoyed staring at my date. Monday’s are the not the best night for dining out so I was glad to have a fine dining establishment to go to on the evening, but don’t think I would repeat with so many other good options most nights.
Our evening was a wonderful, memorable experience to top off our time in New Orleans! Everything was so well thought out and delicious, including our charming & knowledgeable servers. Just perfect!
This was my first time at R'evolution. I had to see/try the Death by Gumbo. We also had some charcuterie and wine. All were wonderful!
Next time I will come back for the steak.
The wait staff needed a bit more polish for a restaurant of this caliber.
Our last night in New Orleans. Next time, this will be our first stop. Elegant. Wonderful food. Exceptional service. Perfect atmosphere for conversation. They are not trying to turn tables as fast as they can. They're trying to create an impression worth remembering.
A very good, formal restaurant with outstanding service and an innovative menu.
The service is as good as anywhere and appropriate to the expensive, but excellent menu.
The problem this restaurant faces is that it wants to be formal, but is attached to a hotel and dependent on tourist business. A hard line to walk. On the night of our visit, we had a very loud, crude group of eight in the small section where we were seated. Seriously, they're wearing shorts, tossing desert across the table into each other's mouths, broke a glass and were LOUD.
After a few minutes of this, we asked for a different table. Told that the big party was near the end of their meal, we rode it out. It took a bout 20 minutes for them to leave...when they did there was an audible sigh of relief from our neighboring tables...and the staff.
If you have good neighboring tables, this restaurant can be everything it aspires to be. Formal, excellent cuisine, outstanding service. If not, it can be a jarring experience.
Given that that loud and obnoxious table probably had a ticket of over $1,000 I'm not sure what the restaurant could have done differently. We were delighted with our meal and service, but would be cautious about returning. Perhaps mid-week would be better.
One of the stops for a birthday celebration. Received many suggestions for this restaurant and it turned out to be a great place to have dinner. Many thanx to the staff especially Rory.
We love this establishment!! We will aways make a point of coming here when we visit New Orleans. The Live Jazz Brunch on Sundays is truly an excuse to spoil yourself or those you love!
The food and service were "over the top" outstanding. The four of us had different entree's and everyone was very pleased with their meal.
The most memorable meal we ever had... fantastic food, perfect service and a marvellous tour by the maître d’..A perfect evening.
Just amazing in every way. I didn’t rate it high in value because it’s not a value concept. The space is elegant and tables aren’t cramped in on top of one another. Service was flawless and the food is delicious. The turtle soup and the crab beignets are must orders. I’m a huge New Orleans fan and have eaten at most top restaurants. This is my new absolute favorite.
Had a birthday lunch. Very enjoyable. Food and service were good. Pricey.
We had a reservation but still had to wait around 10 minutes to get a table. The dishes weren't that hot, it seems that they sit a while before arriving to the table. We requested to warm up one of them, which they did pleasely. But the food was delicious, you could feel all the textures and seasonings. In the end a good surprise is a box they bring with little deserts!
The reviews are right on, the menu is full of wonderful choices, the Lobster Gnocchi is my favorite. Great cocktails and a wine selection for every taste you desired.
My friends that night gave the restaurant 10’s. Make reservations ahead of time they’re always booked up...
Wonderful food and service but some tables can get very loud and take over the dining room.
Management should try to subdue over zealot tables.
Would not go there again. We came on the night of a birthday, and received inattentive service. We placed a reservation ahead of time that we were celebrating, and our waitress could have cared less. She seemed annoyed and not very knowledgeable when we asked questions about the menu. The dessert we ordered was cold and stale. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and our dinner was pretty good. However, for a $400 dinner and drinks, it was not worth what we paid. Disappointing to say the least.
Outstanding dining experience! Modern interpretation of NOLA classics
Everything was top notch. Service, food and experience. I have eaten at fine dining all over the world and this was exceptional.
Absolutely Wonderful. Food was great, service was excellent.
What a delight! Our meal, the service, and the decor were all very worth the visit.
This restaurant is a must go to. Food, service, and ambience is outstanding. Death by Gumbo is a none miss. Everything from appetizers to entree to dessert is phenomenal. Great presentation and preparation. Unbelievable!!! One of the best in NOLA.
Excellent restaurant. Great ambiance and service. Interesting menu, something for all to choose from. Extensive wine list.
You absolutely have to try these crab beignets. They're served with four different remoulades, each more tasty than the last. The wine list was impressive, the bartenders were amazing—we came early for cocktails and it was wonderful. Our actual meal was to die for; my husband had the best steak of his life, the truffle mashed potatoes were delicious, and I had an incredible rack of stuffed lamb with the airiest corn cake I've ever eaten in my life.
Oh, and dessert? Do not miss the creme brulee cheesecake.
Not as elegant a space as expected. Food was not as advertised ie:Foie Gras hard to find in biscuit
My husband and I were visiting New Orleans and a friend told us we needed to go to Sunday brunch here. There was A jazz trio that played quietly, room by room and the food was unbelievable. The crab Beignets alone, were with the visit. Truly, one of the best meals we have ever eaten!
So my wife and I were very excited to try this well reviewed restaurant during a recent trip to NOLA, the disappointment started from the moment we entered the establishment. So we're seated in a not so great area in an otherwise 1/3 empty restaurant 15 minutes after our reservation time which we were early to , high traffic table by the kitchen, service was good, not great, they take our drink order and appetizer order. My wife ordered her entrée and I narrowed it down between two dishes so I asked the waiter for his recommendation and naturally I took it and placed the order.
Appetizer was essentially tasteless, hidden under a layer of spices, underwhelming at best. Then the main course came out, my wife ordered the Redfish and I the venison oso bucco, It was as cold as my water glass, like it just came out of the fridge, a $30 plus meal cold as next day leftovers. Naturally I sent it back and ordered a soup instead; had I ordered a full entrée it would have come out after my wife had already finished her meal, so what's the point? the manager came to apologize, as expected. So what would a seasoned manager do? Offer to comp the meal? overboard for sure, how bout a free desert for the table? Nothing, he offered nothing but an apology.
The night got worse as they seated us next to a very loud table, even two waiters made comments to each other as to their behavior. You would think this same manager would politely ask them to tone it down a notch, never happened. At the end of the evening I ended up dropping almost 2 bills for a seriously disappointing experience and left hungry.
These guys may have once had a great restaurant, but management needs a serious lesson as to how to not only prevent a bad meal from leaving a renowned chefs kitchen, but how to handle the aftermath as well. NOLO is a seriously amazing foodie town, don't waste your time or money on this establishment. There are so many better options out there.
Really fabulous, which says a lot considering the many excellent NOLA options. The food and service were outstanding. Terrific wine list at all price points. Fresh warm bread, crab beignets to die for, and delicious lamb, risotto, and quail. It doesn't get any better.
Delicious. Really enjoyed it. Had to wait 30 mins after our booking time to be seated but the cocktails at the bar were good. Were recommended to come here by our cooking class chef, and were not disappointed. The death by gumbo was excellent as was my venison shank. Enjoyed the surprise cabinet full of sweets at the end too.
Restaurant R'evolution was pretty good. Great service and ambiance however the venison I had was not cooked right and was a lowlight. The drinks, wine list, appetizers and my wife meal were all outstanding. It felt like our waiter steered my to the venison because they were trying to get rid of it not because it was amazing. It should have fallen off the bone but was quite tough. Overall 4/5 but better restaurants for the price in NOLA.
Dajohn, Rory, and Ishmael made us feel like special guests and catered to our every need. What a fabulous evening!
The food here was absolutely phenomenal. The beer battered crab fritters are a must try
My meal was excellent. Beet salad and scallops
and fois gras. My wife had fish and It was just ok.
A quieter, more refined restaurant than most in New Orleans with tables spaced well apart. The service was friendly, informed and efficient. The food was excellent. The oysters done 3 different ways were delicious as was the black truffle steak tartare. Extensive wine list and good recommendations.
Everything was excellent, the service, the atmosphere and especially the food. My wife and I were on vacation in New Orleans. We made a reservation based on the reviews we read. I had the redfish, and my wife had a lobster dish. The food and presentation was outstanding. They surprised us with a light desert that was not listed on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.
One of the best meals I've ever had. The service was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end, we felt like royalty throughout our experience. The food was sensational - gorgeous preparation, delicious flavor and ample portions. The space was exquisite. Reminiscent of old world dining. Cannot wait to return!
Excellent food one of two best restaurants in NOLA
The superb reviews we'd read before reserving a table did not oversell this magnificent restaurant. Prepare to be spoiled with exciting food, impeccable and thoughtful service, and no sense of hurry. This was a very special meal for us.
Went for Easter Brunch. The restaurant is lovely, a comfortable mix of fine dining and casual atmosphere, and in a convenient location. We showed up a few minutes early for our reservation but were seated in about 5 minutes.
We had appetizers, drinks, entrees, and desserts. There were only two things that prevented me from giving the full 5 stars. 1.) We had the grumpiest of waiters. He was proficient as you'd expect, but he seemed overwhelmed and his demeanor impacted us negatively. (We are a quiet, polite family of 4 and were quite sober.) Maybe he wasn't the best choice to schedule for service on a day as busy as Easter. There was also a sizable mistake on our bill. When I pointed it out, the waiter tried to explain where I was mistaken without proofreading the bill himself. Once he actually looked at it, he agreed to make the $30 correction. 2.) All of the meal items were good ( a couple actually the best of the week) except for the one most highly recommended. Death by Gumbo: interesting idea and good flavor but whoever thought serving a little quail BONE-IN in a liquid bowl of roux was mistaken. Half of this went uneaten because I couldn't figure out how to do it gracefully.
Service was excellent. The e had a nice quiet brunch with a nice jazz band playing background music at just the right volume. The food wasn't as good as we had hoped. Everything except the bacon was spicy, ranging from mild(meat pies and potatoes) to fairly spicy(quail). If you like spicy everything then this may be your spot.
