Serving Dinner daily, Sunday Jazz Brunch and Lunch on Fridays Restaurant R’evolution is the first joint venture of award-winning chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto, offering modern, imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Steeped in the diverse historic and cultural influences of Louisiana, the menu features not only the chef’s interpretations of New Orleans classics such as gumbo, po’ boys, and beignets, but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as “the swamp floor pantry.” Table-side service components play an important role in the dining experience, promoting guest engagement about the history and evolution of the food they are enjoying. Soups such as Creole Louisiana Snapping Turtle Soup and Death by Gumbo play on unusual presentations of these traditional dishes that date back centuries. Desserts showcase classical New Orleans sweets done in a new and contemporary way.

I personally don’t see what all the fuss is about, especially given all the amazing restaurants available in NoLA. We were seated in the room where the open kitchen/wood-burning oven is, which was fine but did seem a little like being relegated to “outer Mongolia”. Our appetizers came out very quickly, in fact, before our bottle of wine was brought to the table......which was a White and was not cold enough at all. Our waiter said he had had to chill it down because of the warm weather that day....huh? My shaved vegetable salad was o.k. but I kept tasting grit, like something had not been washed properly, and the portion was HUGE. The Lobster Gnocci main course was really disappointing; gloppy, bland, overly rich. Short Rib portion was tiny, and arrived barely warm.

I think this restaurant is living on its laurels and, for those prices, it is not worth a visit in my opinion.

This was THE most disappointing dining experience I have ever had! No at all what I expected from a John Folse restaurant. My party of 5 sat for over an hour and a half without any food. Others were served, we were not. No one could explain why or what the problem was. We eventually left. There is too much good food in New Orleans to waste my time and money here.

This was our second time dining in the restaurant and we will be back again. Top notch service! Luke,Katie and Kendal did a great job guiding us through the entire dining experience.... tons of surprises..great conversation..

We enjoyed a fantastic meal with great service! The wine list is huge. Thoroughly enjoyed the redfish, ricotta gnocchi, and lamb ragout pappardelle. The cheese offerings were exquisite, as was the cute dessert jewelry box. Only thing I wouldn't order again is the fire-roasted oyster appetizer-- there was no smoke flavor and too many breadcrumbs for my taste.

Service was horrible. No explanation about what caviar was what, same goes for the five cheese plate. We had to ask someone else to explain what we were looking at. Usually the service here is exceptional, this last time it was not. For the price, I expect a lot more. Definitely not going back.

Waited 10 minutes when we were seated. Ordered a drink and sat another 15 minutes before it came. Scallops came cold. Waiters consistently put the wrong food in front of us. Ordered a second round of drinks. Never came. Had to ask two more times to get a drink. Terrible service. We’re ignored. Would never go back

Everything was perfect! From the cocktails to the cute dessert treasure chest we were given at the end of our delicious meal! What a perfect valentines dinner!

Most of the food here was terrific. The problem was with the scallop entree. Mine came so salty I couldn't eat it. The staff was very nice and had the kitchen prepare a whole new one. Which was very good. Of course the problem with that was that it put the timing all off. I find that sort of mistake tends to ruin the whole experience. They should be more careful.

There is nothing about this wonderful restaurant that isn’t first class. Obviously the food is great. But presentation, service, and ambiance makes it a fine dining experience

One of the top five restaurants I’ve experienced. The service, the food, the beautiful atmosphere was perfect from the time we walked in. We had none in filet, oysters, crab benets, and gnocchi. All were outstanding.

Amazing. Service exceptional. Food delicious. We went for my birthday and everyone was so gracious. Colin, our server was one of the best we have had. He was so knowledgeable about the menu and so professional. We will definitely be going back.

Nice ambiance. Not pretentious at all but note that gentlemen wore jackets and collared shirts (few ties). All staff, from reception through the wait staff, were engaging and plesent with good food suggestions. We started with fresh oysters and “death by gumbo” which was unique. We both had the red fish for our entrees paired with a nice Sav Blanch and were very happy. We rounded out dinner with coffee and a nice desert selection. Good value for a very nice dinner. Great wine list with a range of selections - so it would be easy to get into trouble if desired plus plenty of modestly priced but still nice labels.

Service at the bar & in the restaurant was excellent! Food was amazing. Different take on nawlins cuisine. loved every drink to the last drop & every dish to the last bite! Had drinks every night at the bar during our stay @ the Royal Sonesta. We will definitely be back on our next trip.

Must visit restaurant and bar in New Orleans. Great cocktails, extensive wine list, helpful sommelier. Service was outstanding, yet unobtrusive. Food was superb. Crab beignets (need I say more?), were served with four different sauces - red pepper and saffron were exceptional. Caviar staircase is always a special treat. The venison chops were cooked perfectly and were sauced very well. The filet was a perfect medium rare and the crab topping was exponentially the best crab I had in New Orleans. We will go back any time we visit the city. Even went back later in the week to visit the bar. Pear’s No Excuse was the best cocktail I had this trip. This restaurant is at a different level from the other seemingly higher end restaurants in the Quarter.

Amazing service. Beyond amazing wine list. Great food. The staff was knowledgeable about the entire menu. Attentive without being annoying. Our server went through six plates before he used any because they were wet. Another table had dietary restrictions and I could overhear the server going out of his way to accommodate. Out dinner for two was over $250 but we got a great bottle of wine, a cheese plate as an app and dessert.

Had an important business dinner - they treated us very well and allowed the discussions to happen with few interruptions. Only 100 feet from burbon street makes for a quieter environment but still close to the action.

My daughter and I had dinner and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We had the death by gumbo which was delicious and they split it for us. We also had the crab Bieber’s which were crispy and served with different sauces - all good .
The ribeye with bake cheese crust was amazing g.
The restaurant is beautiful and the service was top notch.

The service was rushed, the food was overpriced. It was a very disappointing experience. We were looking for a relaxing high end experience. We left feeling that the service was expedited for no apparent reason. Our bill was over $160 without having any alcohol. This included one appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 vegetables because sides are not included in any of the entrees. It was not a good value nor particularly tasty. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Amazing experience. RR is a gorgeous restaurant with sensational creative cuisine. Service is impeccable. Definitely a must each time we are in NOLA.

Good food kind of stuffy. Had their seafood burger and oysters which were good. The wife had fish which was fishy tasting and ended up being a different fish than was described as snapper. Overall ok but there are better lunch experiences in Nola

My third visit and was really looking forward to dining here again as my last 2 experiences were fabulous with top notch service and amazing food. This time was just bad all around - seated in front of kitchen door in very informal area - asked to be reseated and was put in-between diner type area and main dining room. Gumbo was burnt, lobster like rubber bands, service was not professional at all. Waiter seemed to try but truly understaffed - the staff we did see were talking to each other or just running about - food was also served out of order. Totally unprofessional for what was once such a great dining experience. Will not recommend or be back again

Way overpriced for what you get food wise. Service was good, but they added gratuity automatically for a table of 6. Had they not done that I would have tipped higher. Drinks were not that great honestly. Stick with wine, etc.
