Restaurant Rebirth, an OpenTable 2018 "50 Best Southern Restaurants in America", features regional Louisiana cuisine perfectly balancing fresh local seafood and bold Cajun flavors. South Louisiana native Chef Ricky Cheramie honed his culinary skills in some of New Orleans' top restaurants including K-Paul's, Emerils, and Commander's Palace. He was also influenced by time spent cooking in Boston and Maine, including a stint at the renowned Grill 23. Chef Cheramie creates food for the soul such as Louisiana Seafood Chowder, Duck Bejeux with Oyster Himalayan Red Dirty Rice, and Mississippi Style Barbeque Pork Belly. Located in the historic Warehouse District, Restaurant Rebirth's dining room with exposed wood beams and original brick showcasing local art, is the perfect location to enjoy craft cocktails with fresh squeezed sugar cane simple syrup.
It’s really a superb place but if you made a reservation make sure they don’t give you the first seating option-we had ask for another table After having a reservation made weeks before we had to insist on another table away from the bathrooms! Have to say they finally accommodated us and the rest of the night was spectacular!
Excellent food and service outstanding! Well worth the efforts and monies-Will definitely go back soon!
Great food and attentive service in an intimate, inviting space. Must eats include the seared scallops, gumbo, and the complimentary cornbread. Will return when back in NOLA.
Great food and drink! Everything we had was amazing!
What can we say, another visit, another memorable meal.
From the amazing pork belly, gumbo and great cut of ribeye, Restaurant Rebirth is always spot on. I think we have had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.
This is the first time that we brought our son and he said he woke up this morning thinking about dinner.
Thank you Manny for making time to stop by our table. We cannot wait for our next trip back to NOLA as you guys are always at the top of our list!
The food and the service was outstanding.
We are from Chicago but every time we are in New Orleans we make it a point to visit Restaurant Rebirth. They have an inventive menu and lovely staff. 10/10 on every scale!!
The gumbo is one of the best in all of New Orleans! The chef is very creative. The menu is somewhat limited, but everything that we had was terrific!
This is a small intimate restaurant.
We’re very happy that we decided to dine at Rebirth on our last night in New Orleans. It’s a quaint restaurant. Our waiter was engaging and helped us to navigate through the menu. We started with cocktails and the Ceviche del Dia which is served with fried plantains. The ceviche had a nice, subtle heat to it. My husband had the Double Cut Cheshire Pork Chop. It was cooked perfectly and the sugarcane Creole glaze was to die for. All that it was served with paired perfectly with the pork chop. I enjoyed the Gulf Seafood Al Ajillo. It’s not a Cioppino or a Bouillabaisse but I guess you could say that its similar. The dish was delicious. I relished all of the seafood (fish, shrimp, oysters and crab claws) and the addition of the grape tomatoes to a flavorful sauce. We will definitely return to Rebirth the next time we’re in New Orleans and recommend it to our friends when they visit.
Nice place food was outstanding, staff very friendly. Will eat there again when in New Orleans.
This was one of the best dinners I have ever had!
The gumbo was the best ever, my fish was wonderful and the dessert was superb.
This was a a dinner for my birthday and far surpassed my expectations.
The kichen is very small. And the service very sloww. We need 1:30 for dinner.
Small, quaint restaurant with excellent service and food! Best gumbo we have had in a long time! We ordered porks, which were excellent, and came with two pork chops, enough to share! Definitely will go back next time in NOLA!
Food and service was great! Will definitely be back.
Collin was a terrific help when suggesting items for us to try. The duck was sublime!
Wonderful service and food. One of the best in NOLA!
The staff here works beautifully together in a true teamwork that makes everything flow. Food was brought out piping hot. The filet was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Where it missed the mark for me was I felt it was missing that personal friendly down home vibe. Ambiance felt a little stiff and while the food was good, I felt it was missing something. They definitely need to nix the cornbread. It was extremely dry and after you’ve had the cornbread at Willa Jean, well there is just no topping that. If you are nearby and hungry you won’t have a bad meal, but i wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again.
Just as good as when they opened 3 yrs ago
FIRST TIME DINNING AT REBIRTH. HAD RESERVATIONS FOR Friday NIGHT AT 8:00 PM.
Took a long time to be served. Waiter and staff were attentive, but long delay in serving. Appetizer was a ceviche and couldn't taste the seafood. My date ordered a pan seared red fish, generous serving and good tasting, but the Gulf Fish del Dia I ordered, a seafood bouillabaisse, had too much Cajun seasoning that numbed my taste buds. Overall 3 stars. New restaurant, so to be fair, I need to try it again in a couple of months.
I would definitely go back, but I’d get gumbo and pork belly and skip the fish of the day. Pork belly was really good- great flavor, greens were good (and I rarely like them) Enjoyed the gumbo (just got to have a few tastes from my husband’s bowl but I’d definitely order it the next time). Fish was just ok- kind of bland. Almost over cooked (just seemed almost dry). Needed something to flavor it up or something. Service was friendly but very slow. It wasn’t busy, but there was an usually long time between courses. All that being said, is go back for the appetizers for sure
Was the best experience ever.
Everything at Rebirth is perfectly crafted and each combination of flavors is unique as well as delicious. A restaurant worthwhile if your visiting, and with enough variety on the menu to warrant several returns.
This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The food was exceptional! The service was wonderful!
Everyone loved their dishes! No complaints. They actually thanked me for picking the restaurant for my birthday! Please add the birthday crab claws to the menu! I wanted to come back the next day for the shrimp and eggplant. I actually could have ate everything we had again. 😍
We had a wonderful dinner that did not disappoint. The Gumbo is the best we’ve ever eaten. Romaine salad with fried oysters was unusual and the combination of grilled romaine and crunchy oysters was perfect. The bread pudding was different, dense and worth every calorie. Alex was an attentive waiter that directed us to a perfect menu!
Amazing foodie experience every time
This was a fantastic dinner. I will definitely revisit when I am back in town.
Food was excellent and well seasoned. Service was also top notch.
Great fun place, vibrant and the food was overall good, our steaks were cooked perfectly sadly the crispy potatoes were over cooked an inedible but didn’t ruin a great family night out.
We were a party of 7 celebrating a birthday. Everyone enjoyed the food and our server was great. I would highly recommend for both locals and tourists! We will be back.
The service was top notch from the moment we walked in the door. Alex was our server and he found that perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. We were celebrating our anniversary and the chef sent out complimentary crab claws which were perfectly seasoned and fried to golden brown perfection. We were pleasantly surprised by the size and presentation of the shrimp and eggplant appetizer. The blackened redfish. Out of this world! Blackened and broiled to perfection. We will be back!
Amazing food paired with libations and exceptional service makes this resturant a goto; you will not be disappointed. NYC APPROVED
Loved the filet and the seafood in the butter sauce with bread, but the ceviche was just ok, the greens were too sugary, but the ambiance was great!
First time here was so good that we went back the very next night, which is extremely rare for my husband to do. Service was fantastic both nights. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back for more!
Superb food. Great service.
Never fail! Amazing flavors small and quaint
The wine list, ceviche, and our waiter were all great. However, the main course and desert didn't seem to be the same quality.
Business dinner...excellent food and service!
A refreshingly modern take on southern farm to table dining. Everything was delicious. Denver grass fed lamb was the best I've ever had. Double cut pork chop was cooked properly and the perfect blend of savory and sweet. This is 100% a restaurant for Foodies. Upscale dining with a relaxed atmosphere.
