Great neighborhood high end restaurant!
A tasty meal in a lovely room. I highly recommend this restaurant
I have had good meals here in the past, but this was a disappointing experience. The food was lackluster at best: a lamb pasta dish was lukewarm and lacked any kind of balance in the sauce (salt predominated and nothing else could be detected), the scallops were just okay (three medium sized scallops for over $30 is not a good value), and the chicken breast was tasty but the advertised crawfish were not in much evidence. Good beer. The beet salad was underwhelming because the beets, though good-sized, had not been roasted and so had little flavor, and whipped feta is not a particularly good choice--salty but not flavorful. Very good service, however.
Patois brunch never disappoints! definitely one of our favorites!!
Food was spectacular and the atmosphere reminds me of all the things I love about New Orleans.
Great place for special occasion dinner. Service was excellent; attentive without being intrusive and we never felt rushed in spite of how busy the restaurant was. Food was fresh and obviously prepared with care. Highly recommend if you want a great dinner away from the bustle of the French Quarter!
Very enjoyable ambiance !
It had been several years since last there - Patois is great as always. Friendly staff, our server, Emily was accommodating to our requests. Menu selection is always intriguing - the lamb & scallops were both great. The sauces require extra bread.
Wonderful service. Homemade bread and great lamb ragu app. Pork osso bucco top notch. Excellent sauces. Highly recommend.
The best local restaurant in New Orleans
Patois is such a neighborhood treasure. The staff are always incredibly lovely, the menu is periodically refreshed, and the food it always just fantastic. I adore this place.
Excellent food and service.
Excellent food, including a off-menu request for a vegetarian entree. Local favorite.
Excellent food and device in relaxing and quiet atmosphere
Excellent Easter brunch!
the two Entrees of fish and scallops were great.. All food usually great but the lamb ribs which we got as my sister saw a great review of them was not our favorite. Their mussels and octopus so much better.
I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to order healthy versions of menu items. In the past , it hasn't been possible. Both the beet salad and the flounder were delicious. Ask for sauce on side and less salt if you want to make this an everyday dining spot instead of just special occasions.
Wonderful meal and great, friendly, well-paced service. By-the-glass wine list was a little quirky, but the choices turned out well. Good original drink menu. Food was delicious with small, nice presentation touches helping the canonical French dishes stand out. Some previous reviewers mentioned the noise level, but it wasn’t distracting at all for an early Saturday evening. Three words of appetizer advice: Order the mussels.
We have been here several times, and always enjoy the food. Dinner and brunch are both very good. Parking is always a challenge, since this is one of the many great small neighborhood restaurants, but worth the trouble. Creative menu always. Very good service. Excellent sweet breads and salads. Oysters very good. Even the chicken dish is very moist. They often have rabbit dishes that are good. They always have some fresh fish that is excellent. We will continue to return. Only complaint is that they always try to sit you at the worst table even when you are first to arrive. They honor the request to change, but weird that it happens every time.
Staff, menu, food excellent. Noisy so hard to have conversation
Great setting In uptown. Fun quiet neighborhood vibe. Amazing menu.
ALWAYS CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT. Give me a break -- what more can I say!!!
The service was especially attentive and professional. The gulf fish almondine was superb as was the fish special of the day. All in all an excellent dinner was had in NOLA.
Fabulous as always. Local go to favorites . All the specials are great sweetbreads excellent. Best head cheese ravioli I ever had. Only had.
Patois was recommended to me by a friend, and exceeded high expectations. The food was outstanding, the service fast and unobtrusive, and the setting — a small, historic storefront and — was perfect. Very evocative of New Orleans and its cuisine, but with an updated feel and taste. Really superb.
Second time we ordered the scallops and they were the best ever! The mussels appetizer is a huge portion and would highly recommend for they were great and the light sauce makes it my favorite appetizer!
Took a dear friend to Patois for her birthday (lunchtime). The restaurant was near empty so we were expecting great service and of course, great food. The food was good, but not for the money. We each had an appetizer and an entree (they knew it was her birthday and no effort was made the make our lunch special, so we paid for one dessert that we split - not spectacular). My friend had a glass of wine. Would not recommend if you are looking for value. With tip, I spent $110 and some change. No bread was brought to the table. Service was OK, our server brought the appetizers in a timely manner but then disappeared for 30 minutes. Finally, upon returning to refill our water glasses, we had to ask about our entrees. She seemed surprised by our question, but went to check and returned shortly with our entrees. Probably would not return to this restaurant.
The food was delicious, main courses very well served. It has the uptown charming style, sophisticated and warm at the same time
Everyone was wonderful from the moment we walked in to leaving. Food was incredible. Service with Emily at bar before dinner was perfect. Dinner service with Kaylee was great. Our Uber Diver told us about this place! Thank you Garret!
Nice atmosphere. Very good food. Friendly service.
I requested some suggestions and the staff was spot on and were really broad of their restaurant and the food they served. The energy of the staff was super positive and confident in the menu. Great experience.
Steak tartare was excellent, as was the sweetbreads and osso bucco. Great service: quick and attentive. Great atmosphere.
Wonderful experience and amazingly tasty food
Excellent food! We had a broad sampling of the menu and everything was delicious!! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant was so built up by our friend's recommendation, it was difficult for it to come through. However, we have dined in many excellent restaurants in New Orleans and this was not one of the best. I had the royal red shrimp and pork belly, which was tasty but not outstanding. My wife had the beet salad, which was very large and the red beets were cut very thick. There was no subtlety to this salad whatsoever.
For main course, she had trout almondine, which was nice but very rich because of all the butter used in its preparation--she mentioned the potatoes were the best part of her meal. I had scallops served on greens, and they were excellent though very rich (again the butter).
We did have a pleasant experience. Our wait person had too many tables to give excellent service but the service was passable. We were just expecting better.
Patois is fast becoming one of my favorite restaurant in NOLA. Great Uptown place for brunch or dinner. Terrific food, impeccable service. I will be back very soon.
The food at Patois was amazing! We originally had reservations elsewhere but a local bartender suggested we check out Patois. Best suggestion ever! We had the gnocchi and sweet breads to start and the steak frites and pork osso bucco for main the main course. Everything was delicious.
We had a wonderful experience at Patois. The escargot toast special appetizer was absolutely delicious. The ambiance is exquisite, as is the service.
