I love the charm and feel of this cozy place. Our server helped guide along a wonderful food journey. I’m looking forward to my next meal there.

One of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. Had a new server this time who appeared to have some difficulties. This is the first time we had issues with the server. Food was awesome as usual.

The service was excellent, but had a extremely loud ambience. It was difficult to have a conversation with someone directly across from you. I ordered a seafood pasta dish, which reminded me of packaged Ramen Noodles. Needless to say, I wasn’t impressed. For the price I paid, it wasn’t worth it.

My second course was delivered while I was still chewing my 1st course. When I asked the waiter to slow it down, my 3rd course was delivered while chewing my 2nd course. I got a bad case of indigestion and had to bring 3rd course home for next day leftovers! Never will I order more than one course at this restaurant.

Lovely small restaurant, food was below average. Mussels were overcooked, sauce was delicious. Wagyu steak frites was served cold in center, sent back and was reheated en masse with the frites, now steak was overcooked, frites a soggy mess. I had to protest, waitress was embarrassed. Second attempt was better, not great for $41.00. Overall, mediocre. Sommelier was great and my 2000 Bordeaux expertly treated.

Wonderful neighborhood restaurant with great service and excellent southern cuisine. Best gumbo and pork chop I've ever had and I/m born and raised in South Louisiana.

This was a disappointing visit to Patois. Their website is woefully out of date/not updated with menu changes that date back quite some time. So when we arrived, what we had seen on the menu online and what was available had changed significantly. Our cocktails were delicious, but the rest of the meal was lackluster. The potato gnocchi in the appetizer were borderline burned on one side, the gumbo was oversalted, the mussels served with hard, over-oiled bread (and the oil may have been on the verge of turning...). I had been there before and had a wonderful meal, so perhaps I'll give it another try before crossing it off my list entirely. But in terms of quality/price ratio, things had taken a downward turn.

This was an especially good visit. I had a nice table in back with a view of the doorway. Ryan was my server-- much coveted. There's a nice brut by the glass available. The green salad was delicious and the pasta with shrimp was excellent. The only change I'd make is to lower the salt content. I should remember to ask for no salt because chef and I disagree on how much is required.
A mother and daughter at the next table shared their sheepshead with me-- it was large, light, and flavorful. Don't let the name scare you.

I love this restaurant. It feels like the neighborhood restaurant you visited that one amazing time in Paris, with the difference that the food is inspired by New Orleans. It's intimate, and people are having a good time. I have never had a disappointing meal at Patois; but gourmand that I am, the most impressive thing to me is how much the delicious food is elevated by the service and experience of being in those warmly lit rooms.

Drove here from French Quarter on NY son’s recommendation. It was a quiet night in the restaurant and we had a great waiter, but the food was a huge disappointment. I don’t know if we struck a bad night, but it was not a foodie experience.

Unbelievably good food. Very noce location, ambience and service. Overall a top rate experience. Only downside was it was a bit noisy (it was a Saturday night and there was a large (8 person) group in the room which was the main cause. I would expect it to be quieter on a weeknight.

The brunch service on a Sunday at 11am was not very good. I got a cocktail that was close to undrinkable. I ordered the shrimp and grits and half of the shrimp were peeled, tail on, and the rest were unpeeled, which was super unpleasant (I had a peeled one first, and then bit into a shell unsuspectingly) -- super unprofessional for a $22 brunch dish.

I had the steak frites. It was a hanger steak (meadium rare) over a bed of french fries. The steak was quite expensive (38) for its chewy texture and lack of flavor. I'm guessing I should have gotten a fish entree as it seems that's what the restaurant focuses on. I probably won't return; kind of a, "been there done that," kind of situation.

Excellent, creative cuisine often with surprise ingredients. Nice, well-chosen (if not expansive) wine list. Service slowish due to over-talkative servers, who won't be said to have eyes in the back of their heads. We have had the pleasure of eating every now and then at this charming venue over its 7+ year history. We have never been disappointed with its cuisine. Bravo, hear-hear!

We have been to Patois a few times before. Most of the time for brunch. This evening the dinner selections were all great for me and my husband. We ordered different items and both loved our choices. My salad with the farmers cheese was fantastic and my husband had a shrimp appetizer that he loved. My second course was a home made linguine with chantrelle mushrooms, parmesan and ash. It was a small portion but so tasty.
Both our meals were first class and so was the server. Caitlyn knew so much about each dish and was there when you needed her .
