Quiet, quaint patio with amazing food and excellent service! Definite must visit for NOTL!
Workaround patio dining was pleasant and nice evening setting.
Nice garden setting. Great conversations with sever and other patrons.
Great food and evening. Surprised that they didn't do more with lighting, heaters and comfortable cushions for the seats. We were delighted to be out again. Thank you Oban.
Amazing food and great service. Food was fantastic (Sarah was our server). Patio was make due for Covid. Was shady so we were cold. Take a sweater unless it’s a hot night. Crowd was great and 2 people staying at the inn lent us robes. lol. Great night!! Highly recommend!!
Jimmy was an excellent server with a great personality. The food was superb as usual. Hope you can open again soon for indoor dining. Thank you!
Food was really good. Our server was outstanding...very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely go back.
unfortunately over priced
Great food, and a nice small restaurtant. The staff are very attentive and quick. Thanks for the good service!
Everything was superb. The chef accommodated the vegetarian request, the waitress (Alexis) was kind and attentive, food was great and the Niagara wine, as always, simply perfect. Despite the Covid restrictions, we felt very relaxed and had a chance to truly enjoy the dinner. We can definitely recommend the place for even most demanding patrons.
Just nice to go out to eat !
Food and service were amazing. Our server, Sara, was outstanding! We already made reservations to come back on Saturday!
Our waiter was amazing very knowledgeable on everything we asked him...food was fantastic my BF said it was the best steak he’s had in a longtime...thank you for a lovely evening
The food was tasty, and portions were generous, but we found the menu selection ordinary, with no surprises. The presentation of the food was nice, the service very friendly, but overall, it didn't convey "fine dining" - e.g., no amuse bouche or even bread while waiting for the meal. But if you are looking for a tasty meal in a relaxed environment, this may be the place for you.
Amazing food and service!
Outstanding Christmas Day Dinner in a very beautiful elegant dining room. Wonderful staff, Sarah, Aleksa and Jimmy. The butternut squash soup the best we have ever had! The turkey was excellent, and the stuffing-Wow! Beautiful Creme Brule and a decadent chocolate cheesecake with orange ice cream! We travel a lot and this is one of the best meals we have ever had! I am hoping the Ontario lockdown is over by February so we can come here for Valentine's! Hope to see you all again very soon!
This will be a new Christmas tradition. After the death of my husband at Christmas 2019, this has not been an easy year for grieving. Didn’t want to celebrate Christmas ever again. Decided to do something different so we wouldn’t miss him so much and looked for some place to have Christmas dinner. We used to drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake together and always wanted to stay at the Oban Inn. My daughter and grandson were not too keen on the idea but we were all very impressed with the occasion and so glad we did it - thank-you so much for helping us make new memories. Next year, hopefully, my other daughter, her husband, and my other grandson will be able to travel here from Florida to be with us at the Oban Inn for Christmas 2021. In the meantime, I’m sure I’ll be back during the nicer weather and the lockdown is over! Thank you again.
Not very exciting menu
My husband and I live abut 45 minutes from NOL and we stayed at the Oban Inn as a treat to get away before the holidays. Besides the fantastic location, one of the big benefits for us was the lovely restaurant inside the Inn.
We went for dinner, the staff were very attentive and the food was fresh and delicious. My husband said that it was the best Creme Caramel he has ever had.
The restaurant was quiet, with a romantic setting and tables were far enough apart to be COVID safe.
Food was very good as was service. It's not a very large space where we were and since tables are limited to 4 people all of the same residence it was quiet as expected.
Food was delicious! Beautiful Christmas ambiance, will be back for sure
The appetizers (crab cakes, Caesar salad) were very good. But the entrees were surprisingly very salty. This included the lobster pasta and the salmon (ie the roasted potatoes that came with it.)
Oh yes the lobster was over-cooked and chewy -- so the overall meal was disappointing. Nice ambiance and service was very good. And so was the creme caramel dessert. Not sure we'll return.
Food was excellent. Server...Jimmy was a delight and provided entertaining service!
Food is fantastic. Superb quality and taste! Their crab cakes is one of the best.
Amazing dinner. Always a little hesitant about dining at a hotel restaurant. The salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had the duck. Again delicious. Desserts are made in house. Finished with a little ice wine.
The crab cake appetizer was wonderful---full of real crab! I also had the pasta with lobster and really enjoyed it. The wait staff were also very attentive and helpful.
Limited menu mostly seafood
Deep fried crab cake disappointing
A lovely restaurant for a special 10th anniversary dinner.
What a wonderful atmosphere! The food was absolutely delicious. I felt comfortable dinning indoors even during a pandemic and the wait staff was wonderful.
We were disappointed. The dining room was very noisy and cold. My wife’s salmon was overcooked. I had the scallops and shrimp dish. The scallops were quite good, but the shrimp was tasteless; it needed some kind of sauce. I was also disappointed in the dessert — a creme caramel that was quite bland.
Great food and great service.
The food was good and we had very friendly service.
The location is very good, the dining room very nice. The food was well prepared and presented but the menu is very limited. Wine list is limited to local wineries only. I would think foreign wines should be available.
Dining room was great and we used this for both breakfast and dinner during our stay. The food quality and service were great during the breakfasts and dinners and practiced great Covid 19 procedures. Very safe!
My partner had the Lobster Spaghetti and I tried the Duck. The pasta was a huge hit with about 4 ounces of Lobster. The Duck while acceptable was a little dry for my tastes. However we will dine at the Oban again for sure!
Alexa took excellent care of us. The food was outstanding and surpassed our expectations. The room was lovely and comfortable.
We felt at ease even with the restaurants thorough Covid-19 measures.
Excellent restaurant with a limited menu because of the Covid 19. Great selection of Niagara wines. Will go back.
I was disappointed to be shown a tiny table by the door. I declined the sitting and chose another table. There were only two other tables occupied. The mussels were very good. I thought my wine could have been colder. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The asparagus was old and chewy. Very disappointing. Dessert of creme brûlée was excellent. The ambience was nice but felt the seating choice was insulting. I would not eat here again.
The Oban Inn is truly beautiful. The dinning area is very stylishly done. Our server Alexa was awesome! She was so pleasant and professional. She also made a great wine recommendation! The food was excellent. The only reason we gave it a 4 star rather than a 5 star is that the noise level in the window seating area was pretty brutal at times. The room simply does not handle noise well- it seems to amplify it with all the windows and tile flooring. I wouldn’t recommend it for people with hearing issues. If you are ok with a louder volume of background noise then definitely enjoy a dinner out at this place!
Great food, service and ambiance. We really enjoyed the whole experience.
