The entire experience was excellent.
The Chefs Selections and Choices were excellent, and each portion was just right.
Appetizer was unique with the grapefruit addition adding the citrus to the flavour.
Tenderloin and Scallops were done to perfection and the smashed fingerling potatoes were unique, crispy and with excellent choices of spicing.
Creme Brule, home made whipped cream and in house macaroons were brilliant, and completed the meal well. I would definitely order all of this again.
The Service was wonderful with very pleasant servers and Alexa was very attentive. We were not rushed, and timing between courses was just right, especially with the New Years typical rush I had experienced at other restaurants. Social distancing had no concerns with their adherence. Plenty of room, plus intimate.
Great venue, food quality very good.
Amazing dinner at The Oban, honestly one of the best meals I can remember! I had the Rib Eye medium with fingerling potatoes a d asparagus was perfect; and my wife had the Chicken Supreme with mushroom risotto was amazing! Really nice romantic atmosphere, quiet, great service. Highly recommend!!!
It was an excellent dining experience.
The food as always was very good, I had the steak (excellent) and started with the ceasar salad also excellent.
The room was a little cool and could use some soundproofing (the shape means you can hear the conversations from the otherside of the restaurant quite clearly).
Excellent staff and good location.
Fantastic X-mas dinner. This was by far the best beef Wellington we have ever had. The salads were great as well. Service was friendly and they accommodated our request to be reseated for the purpose of social distancing. An absolutely delicious meal!
Waiter could of cared less, food was great but for a $400 bill one would expect a server who cared
The ambiance was romantic with a relaxing piano playing classical Christmas music. Andrew enjoyed a ceasar salad with a generous portion of smoky bacon I had the crab cakes crispy on the outside and tender and delicious on the inside. The steak was delicious and cooked to order rare and blue rare. Top it off with crème brûlé and you have a feast
Jimmy Was awesome.
He made our dinner outstanding.
Food was great.
Best dining experience ever! Beautiful restaurant, outstanding service and the food was amazing! Highly recommended.
It was great food and service. It was just a little cold in the Shaw Corner.
Great atmosphere, food is delicious. attentive service. The server recognized our anniversary by giving us some sparkling wine to celebrate. It was a very nice touch. We plan to stay at the Oban Inn and dine at this restaurant again. Amazing experience!
Last night was my first time in Niagara on the Lake. It's beautiful and the Oban is where we chose to eat dinner. The food was AMAZING. The Chef made tomato cabbage soup, by far the best I have ever had. I had steak, my boyfriend had the duck. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The atmosphere was excellent as well. The only issue I had was with out waitress. She was smug with us right from the time she greeted us. When paying our bill, we left a cash 30$ tip in the bill folder. I paid with credit. She looked at the bill after I paid and said " UM you didn't leave a tip". She looked at me rudly and I explained the tip was in cash.. Never have I ever been treated so rudly by a waitress. The only thing she had to say was "oh" and walked away. She did say thanks have a great night when we walked out.
This is the only reason I gave a 3 start for the service.
5 star all the way for everything else. ! Will definitely be coming back !
Great Friendly Service
The food was great. The waiter was excellent. He was very attentive and friendly.
I had the lobster spaghetti. The sauce and noodles were very good but the lobster didn’t stand out and a few pieces were watered.
Only Ontario wines. Flank steak done to perfection but with 1/4 inedible fat and grizzle.
Everything was lovely! It's a gorgeous space, beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. The food was what I would call Traditional Western - but beautifully executed and incredibly flavorful. We had the harvest soup for starters, followed by the charbroiled ribeye steak and the duck confit with berry glaze for mains. All were excellent. The vegetable accompaniments were fantastic - usually the meat is the star of the plate. Not in this case! The dessert was a bit of a letdown- house made icecream with berries and shortbread crumble. Surprisingly short on flavour.
Service was attentive, timely and unobtrusive. Wine pairings that were recommended were excellent.
Noise levels were low. Background music was classical piano. We were not rushed. Enjoyed a dessert liquer and called it a night. Very reasonable prices for the food and service.
Crab cakes, scallops and shrimp, chicken supreme. All good a little salty.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Oban Restaurant on Saturday Dec 11th. Our server, Jimmy was excellent and very attentive. Food was delic...hot...and delivered in a timely manner....very good experience.
We were seated in a beautiful cozy room with photos of famous people on the walls. We were told the signed ones were people that had eaten there. Our food was spectacular, server was very good. We will definitely return. Our only question (not a complaint) was, why is the local Niagara wines so expensive when compared to other drinks.
We celebrated a birthday and anniversary. The food was excellent and the service was great!
Amazing food and service
Great food, great service. The food prices were very reasonable but found the pricing for drinks a little on the expensive side. Would definitely go back.
The food was excellent. It was well paired and delicious. It was a hard selection but we were very pleased with what we chose.
The food and ambiance is why we come back year after year!
My first time dining at the Oban I wasn’t disappointed. It delivered the superb food, service and atmosphere my friends raved about. I will certainly be back!
All went extremely well very pleased ..food service 5star
We had an absolutely fabulous meal with friends at the Oban restaurant. I had the crab cakes and the shrimp and scallop dish which was magical! Friends who had the duck confit and the chicken supreme were also highly impressed.
Table not ready for the reservation.food service very slow
Tasey food but very tiny portions foe the entree.lovely venue.
Service was great!! Our entrees were delicious!!
My guest and I had the lobster spaghetti and the steak. Both of which were delicious and the steak perfectly done.
A charming Inn just off the main street in NOTL. Everything about the Inn and restaurant is charming a heart warming.
Our entrees were delicious, service friendly and ambiance inviting.
We certainly enjoyed our meal and felt the service we received was excellent as was the food.
Really great spot for dinner - take your time, try some cocktails! Fabulous food and attentive server (without feeling like you are being rushed). Get the mussels - they are to die for!
We preferred the chicken risotto over the steak, but everything came out hot, and were great (generous) portions.
A regular special meal destination for us. Reservations recommended in theater season. Food is scrumptious and the mains have excellent flavor pairings between the meat and vegetables and sauces.
If you like coffee after dinner drinks they have nice ones.
Good range of wines, roughly 40 whites and 40 reds.
Service is good, without hovering.
For the entrees, the angus ribeye steak was very good, the crab cakes were excellent, cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was great, dressed good for my liking. Although for the desserts very disappointed that they removed the hot chocolate from the menu, it was a great drink for families with kids, we were also disappointed with the coffee which used to be more flavourful and bold in the past but now found it to be more watered down and weak. But we also ordered a chocolate ice cream, which was very delicious and creative with the crushed shortbread cookies. Overall our meal was very good with some downsides.
We stayed at the original Oban Inn many years prior to the fire and were really looking forward to this visit. We dined at the restaurant on a Thursday night and it was amazing -- the service impeccable, the atmosphere enjoyable and was likely the best steak dinner we have had in many years. When we go back, we will definitely have dinner at the Inn again. Breakfast however was another story. Service again was impeccable. The food was disappointing. The eggs were cold and overcooked, plate was cold, the toast was cold and the number of potatoes overwhelming. We should have sent it back and were sorry we didn't. Other than that ... it was great.
Excellent service by Jimmy!!! Attentive to my husband’s Celiac disease.
Lovely evening & delicious dinner!
