Since its beginning in 1824, the long tradition of The Oban Inn dining experience has been enjoyed by generation after generation of our returning guests. Open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday.

Very positive experience. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. However the portion of trout was extremely small relative to other menu options. A little disappointed that the menu had changed but the website still shows the old menu. Would recommend based on the overall experience.

Lovely setting for my birthday dinner, window seated by the gorgeous gardens in the dining room. I was overwhelmed with gratitude that my favourite dish of lobster pasta was prepared special, even though it was no longer listed on the new chef's menu. Thank you all for a great birthday dinner.

A wonderful experience. Crab cakes appetizer and chicken supreme for main dish. Our server helped select perfect wine from BIG HEAD winery. He was so informative and ensured a perfect evening. A window seat overlooked manicured gardens and fountain. Excellent experience.

We ate dinner at the Oban in on May 28th with another couple. The dining area is cozy albeit a little warm temperature wise.The dinner commenced with our server informing us there was a new chef and he was in the processor revamping the menu. There were some changes that were not reflected on menu, mainly sideshow entrees. No big deal. After ordering our predinner drinks, we informed of some alcohol not in stock. Ok I get it. We ordered our starters and main courses. The crab cakes and caesar salad were good. The mains were the special: lamb chops - very good, lobster linguini- very good, salmon - was ok, rib eye steak - only about a 1/4 inch thick and chewy. The steak was ordered med rare. Approx 1/2 of the steak was rare. Definitely underwhelming experience. The server did remove the steak from the bill as only about 1/3 was eaten. Don't think we'll be returning especially with so many other options available in NOTL.

Food was mediocre. Waitress was chatty with everyone and service was very slow. They seemed short staffed for a busy upcoming weekend. Restaurant had loud frank Sinatra music playing which made it feel like a bar and hard to hear conversation with my husband. Dessert choices were very few. We ordered ice cream which was not as good as our store brands and the crunch they claimed was shortbread crumbs tasted stale. Not a great experience at all.

Like counting on the quality of an old friend, this is the experience of the Oban Inn. Exceptional quality of food, atmosphere, comfort, great staff, excellent wine list, just like you'd want to do it for your own best friends.
