Restaurant Martin is the embodiment of a of a 20-year dream to create the perfect balance of refined and comfortable. Chef Martin Rios, and his wife, Jennifer, envisioned a certain ambiance where people from the community as well as Santa Fe’s many visitors could enjoy Chef Rios’ award-winning progressive American cuisine. This family-owned restaurant caters not only to tourists, but to a large and loyal local clientele. Chef Rios has been repeatedly honored for his innovative and pleasing combinations of flavors, colors and presentation. His unique style emphasizes fresh, local produce and organic meats and poultry, and reflects not only Southwestern and Asian influences but also his classic training in French technique. His list of accolades include the following: Finalist in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022 for the James Beard “Best Chef of the Southwest” Award Semi-finalist for the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 James Beard “Best Chef of the Southwest” Award.

    The service was poor. We waited 45 minutes between courses with no update regarding the extended wait time. Three of our six meals came to the table overcooked. The manager/owner however kindly took the time to come to the table and announce to us "we took the plates to the kitchen and our chefs looked at them under the light and have determined they were cooked to the appropriate level". WOW. This is our third attempt at Restaurant Martin. The food each time has been disappointing. On this particular visit the staff was disengaged and the owner was aggressively defensive AND the food was disappointing.

    Amazing restaurant. Had a wonderful time. At the end of our evening, Michael’s wife even helped us get back to our hotel

    We enjoyed having dinner on the patio. Although the day's temperature was a new record high, the patio was very comfortable. The four of us each ordered different entrees and were exceptionally pleased with the taste and service. We will return.

    My friend and I had dinner on the outdoor patio, August 6, 2025. The service and atmosphere was good. Wait staff very friendly and attentive. Food good, but not spectacular. The main issue we both had was that both of us are gin drinkers. We each ordered a cocktail and specified to the waitperson that we wanted Tanqueray or Bombay gin. My friend requested an Aviator cocktail which traditionally contains Creme de Violette and Luxardo. The waitperson failed to tell us that Tanqueray gin was not available and that the house bar only had New Mexico made gin and spirits. The bartender did not tell us until after dinner that he had substituted New Mexico made gin and something for Creme de Violette and Luxardo which he did not have. Both of us were disappointed in the cocktails. If the wait person or the bartender had told us this ahead of time, we would have changed our orders to a nice glass of wine.
