Enjoyed the excellent food & service—however the prices have “gone over the top”. We have enjoyed dining at Martin’s over the years after our annual community Las Posadas on Sunday evening, but I regret to say we’ll be looking for a more affordable/value next year.
We enjoyed our dinner at Restaurant Martin. The starters, including the butter roasted lobster and a celery root/cauliflower soup were both excellent. Main dishes (blue bass, lamb chops and beef tenderloin) were all delicious. Desserts were wonderful as well. But it was our server who made the evening. She was so helpful AND a lot of fun!!!
We had duck which was delicious
Scallops that were divine
Tenderloin that was scrumptious
Fish that was okay. The garbanzo beans were a bit crunchy .
Love lunch at Martins -- always great. Service is good and soups are wonderful.
The tenderloin was in two pieces--one perfect, the other a dried chunk of roast beef. Anthony Bourdain predicted how this might happen: left overs in the kitchen.
Martin's is a quiet and intimate setting with excellent food. Chef is especially adept at fish.
We celebrated an anniversary there and everything was just perfect.
I wish I could eat here every meal! I was incredible!
Fresh, delicious seasonal offerings that never disappoint.
It is always a pleasure to eat here! The food is excellent and the service is professional.
Food was impeccable and the service provided by Anielle seamless, gracious, and friendly.
We saved Restaurant Martin for our last night in Santa Fe and thoroughly enjoyed every bite!
The service was excellent and we enjoyed a quiet room all to ourselves.
Butternut squash bisque
Homemade ice cream for desert
Every single thing we had was delicious, interestingly flavored with many notes to enjoy. The servings were plentiful and perfect with exception of the homemade ice cream, that I could have had twice the amount to be completely satisfied. It was offered, but I declined and glad I did because it kind of left me wanting more of this wonderful chef’s dishes!
Restaurant Martin will definitely be on our list of favorites to recommend and return to next time we are in Santa Fe!
Wonderful experience. Perfect service. Beautiful presentation. Good value. Nice ambience. Avoid annex.
Nice intimate setting. Server was pleasant and knowledgeable. The flavors were to savor. We had both Chef's special of the night, appetizer and entree- we were pleased. We'll be back.
Our third meal here in a month, Thanksgiving special menu. Everything was perfect.
We have dined at Restaurant Martine for the past 4 Years at Thanksgiving. We get the traditional turkey dinner every year! The only thing I do not like is the mashed potatoes have garlic in them. They offered no alternative this year. 3 years in a row, we were able to get them without the garlic. Other than that, this restaurant is amazing!
We will never make a reservation here unless we can get seated in the "house" where we had previously had a great experience. The "BARN" where we seated was a mad-house. Waiters were actually running to get food or items from the "house" and were in such a hurry as to put tableware on with their hands on silver, glass rims, etc. The constant opening the door let in 38 degree cold and my wife had to wear a jacket. One of the toilets was completely out of TP. The noise level was increased to the point that she had to put in ear plugs. The noise could have been prevented if some the ambiance included something "soft" on the walls or hanging from the ceiling, both of which had nothing and the north wall had roll-up doors for summer time dining. Removable drapes might have helped. The only thing that was up to our standard was the food. It was super in taste and presentation.
Went to Martin for Thanksgiving. Squash soup was outstanding but it went downhill after that. The beet appetizer reminded me of the nuveaux cuisine from the 80s with 4 tiny things on the plate with no flavor.
The turkey was fine but nothing special. I had the beef tenderloin with braised short rib. The tenderloin was ok and on the rare side with gristle. The short rib was 50% fat. The mushrooms were minced rather than whole. Hoping dessert would redeem the meal but didnt happen. My deconstructed pumpkin pie looked much better on the plate than it actually tasted. No flavor and cookies were nothing spectacular. Pumpkin filling was bland. For $85 prix fixe it was over priced and disappointing. I would go back to experience on a regular night but never go on a holiday.
The food very tasty, presentation excellent, service team attentive, accommodating and responsive.
Martin is a restaurant boy go back to!
Jessie was great !!! Perfect Thanksgiving Outing for the family!!! Perfection!!!
This is a 4 star restaurant so expect quality food, terrific service, a great atmosphere, very low noise level, and of course, 4 star prices. It is the ultimate "you get what you pay for" place. Easily one of the best meals we have ever had. Presentation was very nice. Beef and fish that could not be better. Items arrived when they were supposed to and the temperature was spot on. If you are in Santa Fe, try to book a table at Restaurant Martin. You will not be disappointed.
We’re from Austin and come to Restaurant Martin every time we’re in town!
We had a wonderful experience at Restaurant Martin. Made a reservation a few weeks ahead for a Friday evening. We were seated promptly and the hostess made us feel welcome and explained a little about the menu, then returned a bit later with more detail after we got settled. The breads were delicious. We shared a beet salad as an appetizer. One member of our party ordered the pork entree and two of us had the vegetarian option. All the dishes had a delightful balance of textures and flavors. The sauces were exceptional.
The service was nicely paced; the courses moved along but were not rushed. We especially enjoyed the quiet atmosphere that was conversation-friendly.
delicious food, great wine list, good service! 100% recommended
Interesting menu with excellent food. Attentive service. Limited wine list. Setting is a bit ordinary (we were seated near a service station): the chef's talents and culinary arts are top notch and deserving of a more sophisticated space and atmosphere to exhibit his creations.
This restaurant is very good. The service was very attentive and courteous. The food was excellent! Highly recommend.
Just okay, sadly. One dish - the soup - was outstanding. No idea why people rave about the “Mac and cheese” - so little flavor.
The overall quality did not live up to the high prices. While some individual offerings were excellent, my duck breast itself was blah...and tough. The apple dessert was over-thought: too much "stuff" going on. Maitre d' and server were were knowledgeable and solicitous. The surroundings were serviceable but very plain. It was an expensive dinner but, overall, didn't feel like it.
Truly authentic gorgeous food. Unlike any food anywhere else in Santa Fe.
This was our first time to dine at Restaurant Martin. The service was great and the food was excellent. They have a nice selection of wines and, while we did not visit the bar, it looked very cozy.
Martín Rios has been doing a great job as chef. There are several restaurants in Santa Fe that we visit regularly and love, but this has always been our favorite. Saturday night was even better than ever and the conversations among the four of us would be frequently be interrupted by one of us saying how wonderful the new lobster appetizer is or how this months version of the tuna main course is the best ever.
As always Martin’s is a dining experience like no where else. The creativity of the food is genius. This is a very special restaurant. The hostess, Jennifer is very friendly.
Nice atmosphere in a Santa Fe house with excellent cuisine.
The tuna dish was without taste with an unappetizing presentation. The service was not good. The ambiance was poor.
Service was very slow in spite of few customers. Food was below average.
Sorry to say not worth it.
Food was good, but not worth the price!
Service was dismal, waitress was dis-organized, scattered and kept intruding in our private conversations.
Ill not go back!!
Went there the other night for dinner and had a nice meal. The Caesar salad was excellent, the chicken breast was very good. And the vegetarian dish was OK, but not very inspired. The biggest complaint we had was the service. it took 2 1/2 hours from when we arrived until we left. Had long periods of sitting at the table with out any food in front of us. My suggestion is they need additional servers and/or help in the kitchen.
I love this restaurant for lunch ! I had the Tuna Poke salad three days before and fell in love it and had to go back for more .Unfortunately the tuna was not nearly as fresh as it was the first time.
Incredibly sophisticated food and flavors. Nothing too overwhelming but the flavors and dishes fit superbly. Absolutely the best chef in Santa Fe and probably much of the Southwest USA. Don't miss your chance to try this cuisine.
One waiter was working all the tables. I suspect he was not happy about it because he appeared visibly rushed and frazzled. Service was very slow and the waiter never apologised for it. He also did not ask us how anything tasted, if we liked our wine, or if we needed anything else. Had to ask for water to be refilled. We actually got up and helped ourselves to dessert menus because they were never brought to us. My $36.00 entre was overcooked and rubbery. I had heard great things about Restaurant Martin and can only guess that we hit an off night due to being short-staffed. It was a great disappointment.
