I love Restaurant Martin. The Angus beef sandwich that I ordered was delicious. My friend had an omelet and she said it was very good except all the delicious caramelized onions were at one end of the omelet. She had wished the onions had been spread throughout the omelet.
We stood at the host stand for nearly 10 minutes before anyone even offered to seat us. Our server, while very nice, was obviously handling too many tables. They were out of the wine we ordered. While the Restaurant wasn’t full, we were offered a table with a view to the bus stand and restrooms. Our entrees took another 20 minutes after we finished our salad.....Don’t think we’ll be going back.
Really lovely outdoor patio, and food was very good
Unwelcoming attitude from everyone but host. Sea bass very good but one was delivered undercooked and a bit of an attitude about asking to have the piece of fish cooked Confusion bill related to service charge + gratuity which was listed twice but not added twice. Not completely accommodating food allergy forcing customer to only have one option.
Martin has the best food in town. Always innovative and changes often. The portions argue for having only 1 course because they are quite large. For lunch 1 course is all most of us can do. However, his appetizers are so spectacular that room must be made at dinner.
The service ranges from OK to not-so-OK. That is surprising because this restaurant has a reputation for good relations with its servers. At lunch recently, the wine appeared only after I asked whether I had remembered to order it.
Our party had the beef short-rib sandwich, salmon ceasar salad and pork-belly enchilada. All excellent but the enchilada, in particular, showcased Martin's ability to take a local staple and make it sing.
The wine list is good but, as in all Santa Fe restaurants, the lack of corkage fees makes the prices unreasonable. If you search the list you can, barely, find a couple of wines that are only 2.5 times retail. Most range from 3.5 to 4.2. An outrage but no worse than any place in Santa Fe.
Expected better from a James Beard finalist. His dinners are better than his lunches. Mediocre food at lunch. 2 cups of soup, one salad, one sandwich - about $70 with tip - oh, yes- also two iced teas. Probably last time.
Our dinner was great. The dishes were vibrant with many flavor profiles. The wine selection was good and Julian, our server, was fantastic. He knew all the components of the dishes and was incredibly polite.
Service very slow. Outside patio lovely. None of us felt the entrees were wonderful as we had been led to expect.
A great find on this trip to Santa Fe! Creative menu and excellent service. Quality high.
Excellent food and good taste profiles. Worth the price for a special meal.
EXCELLENT FOOD IN SANTA FE, A BIT OFF THE BEATEN TRACK BUT LOVELY PLEIN AIR DINING, AND ATTENTIVE STAFF. MOST IMPORTANT, THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS. OUTSTANDING. AND NOT OVERPRICED FOR THEFABULOUS PRESENTATION ANDFLAVORS. JUST DELICIOUS. WORTH THE WAIT.
This was for Mother’s Day Brunch. We had made a reservation and showed up 10 minutes early. We have very well behaved kids and we all sat down. The waitress was very rude to our table from the moment we sat down for some reason. There were many other tables with kids. At first I thought it was me , but then my husband looked at me on her 3rd encounter with us in disagreement and finally my kids said something.
She didn’t go over the drink menu with us and made us feel like every time we asked a question she was doing us a favor. Our son has severe nut allergies and we asked her if there were any breakfast options for him and she flat out told us no.
We’ve been looking forward to Restaurant Martin’s for a long time because we are fans of his and his book. We should have left the restaurant but stayed. Maybe she was having a bad day. But for that price point expectations are higher.
The bus boys and ladies were all professional and we think they realized her unprofessionalism.
It was a nice Mother's Day Brunch. The entire plate was attractive and delicious. An evening meal another time was equally well done.
Martin's is always a winner for us! great food, excellent service with no rushing of diners.
A great evening with fabulous food. A quiet cozy restaurant with great service and a varied wine selection.
Fantastic menu, warm and welcoming staff. First-rate.
Unfortunately cannot recommend Restaurant Martin. The Tenderloin was undercooked and the service was simply adequate. Seating was not the best as we were placed next to a loud group despite tables in the same general area that would accommodate our party. I would not classify the noise level as energetic but just loud.
Charming local Santa Fe restaurant with a very talented chef who prepares complex, beautifully presented dishes using fresh local ingredients. Taste and quality of food is outstanding in a very competitive market.
Wonderful food and a delightful environment. We will be back soon and often. The French toast was extraordinary.
Fabulous food as always. The brûlée with a hint of lavender was over the top delicious.
Wish you had a Happy Hour!!
Food was amazing! The big problem, and it is big, was that as a party of 8 we were in the back garage. The noise was so malignant we could not hear the person next to us. It seriously detracted from a dinner with close friends and colleagues who don’t see one another that often. If we had known, we would have gone elsewhere. We will be back and often hopefully, but not over four people, and we will know not to sit in back,
The food was excellent and service and atmosphere was very good. New restaurant for us as some of our previous favorites were becoming complacent and average but still desiring Santa Fe pricing. Will come again.
My wife and I ventured up there from Albuquerque and it was well worth the drive. The food was excellent and creative. The presentation according to my wife , who took pictures of everything, said it was too nice looking to eat. It did not stop me. Hope to get up there again soon.
Our server, Jordan, was a very pleasant professional. The prawns, salad, beef tenderloin and wine were everything we expected.
An excellent Santa Fe evening.
Our reservation was at 6, so parking was easy and service was quick. We both had the chef special sea bass which was excellent. Our server, Julian, was very attentive and informative. We have been here several times without disappointment.
Whenever I visit Santa Fe, I crave a Sunday Salmon Benedict with lobster. Simply delicious!! A beautiful presentation with very tasty bites!!!
Brunch was a relaxing experience here--the food was very good, the service attentive--but I'd say that the dinner menu at Restaurant Martin is more exciting. Not many surprises on the brunch menu, though it was all executed well.
Incredible food, wine, service!
I had friends visiting from Texas and wanted a special place for dinner. Restaurant Martin lived up to all of our expectations. The gourmet sized entrees, while not huge, were well presented and melted in our mouths. The fish was amazing! It should be noted, however, that without sound absorbing decor, the restaurant can be noisy making it hard to converse. It had been a while since I ate there but it is now at the top of my list.
The food, service and ambience were exceptional. For us as locals, this is a special place.
Great entrees, superb desserts, warm, relaxing environment.
Martin’s is always filled with delicious tastes and memories.
Interesting menu, good food. Slow, un-attentive service. Website menu outdated.
Love their Sunday brunch !
One our favorite spots. This visit was for a friend's birthday who enjoyed the vegetarian plate. The pork belly first course and the main duck were superb. However, although I still highly recommend this restaurant, there were a couple of rough spots during this visit: the service was not well timed, my Caesar salad was very overdressed, making it limp, and the seabass was a little over cooked and therefore dry.
A wonderful dinner, perfectly prepared and presented! The service was beyond excellent, thank you all for your care and attention to every detail.
Although good, there was nothing stellar to recommend the meal that I had at Restaurant Martin. The salad was fresh and the chicken moist and tender but the typical attributes which normally distinguish a salad as a chinese chicken salad were missing here. THere was inclusion of soy sauce in the dressing and a few fried noodles on the top of the salad, but nothing else identified this salad from any other.
Delicious lunch. Excellent choices on the menu. It is great that they can do such a gourmet lunch at those bargain prices.
Lovely restaurant with excellent service and very good, but not totally inspiring food (at least to my palate.). Good place for special occasion.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend who had also visited Santa Fe. We were all looking for a lovely evening out to celebrate my brother in law's birthday & all of us being together. The food was superb and very creative. We all (4 of us) had different dishes and each was was wonderful. I had the salmon dish, which was outstanding. I always like my salmon rare and they did it perfectly for me. I would highly recommend this place when visiting Santa Fe or if you live there and haven't gone yet, you are missing out! A wonderful dining experience.
