I had the rack of lamb- fantastic and the portions were great- you will not leave hungry like you might at some high end restaurants
Worth the money
Lorena’s was the best, as always! It is our favorite go to spot for any occasion.
Service and food are excellent. Both times I have been, the experience has not disappointed,.
Truly a special evening with flavors that were outstanding. Looking forward to another opportunity to eat there again!
Excellent, the best great service, great food , fantastic service.
Lovely place! Attentive service; very good food!
My wife and I had a fabulous experience at Lorena’s Saturday night. Pea soup amuse bouche, crab crepe, tartare, duck and lamb were all deftly prepared with layered flavors in a classic style. Service was excellent with an engaged staff from the head, back and buss waiters. Expensive yet value is provided if you understand and appreciate the labor that goes into chefs creating the flavors experienced. Bring a good bottle of wine (or two) and enjoy a truly memorable evening!
The best restaurant this side of the Hudson River! We are so lucky to have Lorena’s so close to us!
Wife and I went for our anniversary. Service was excellent. Apps were great but entrees were just okay and dessert was bland. I expected a lot more from this fine dining establishment.
Apps - Crab Crepe and the Foie Gras (both A+)
Entrees - pistachio crusted duck (A-) and Lamb (C+)
Dessert - Chocolate Lava Cake (C)and Coconut Pana Cotta (C)
Lorena’s has been one of our favorites for several years. But this Saturday night meal failed from service to ingredient quality to preparation. We did not receive menus for an eternity, luckily having our wine opened at least. Even the bread was late. When we finally had menus, it was along wait to order, then a longer wait for the appetizers, then forever before the entrees that had obviously been sitting long enough to lapse to luke warm. The duck confit salad had too much dried duck shreds, wilting frisée, and few of the beets and other promised ingredients. The cod was old and the species suspicious. The lamb cooked right, but served late. We don’t know why, but we understand energy may be siphoned off for a new venture, forcing understaffing. We want this meal to be an anomaly, but we’ll not be going back soon.
Fabulous food and fabulous service.
I was glad to see Lorena was open for lunch, and very pleased to see very reasonable prices and nice selection on the menu. The food, service and ambiance were the same as at night, and thus had a lovely lunch there recently. Two apps and two entrees were $44, along with a Bordeaux from the basement, and voila a fabulous lunch!
It was hard to make a selection from the menu because everything sounded so good. The food was delicious! Our server was knowledgable, friendly and professional.
Outstanding! Crab crepes and duck were out of this world!
We had a lovely dinner at Lorena’s. The menu was full of interesting and unusual selections, all well prepared and attractively presented.
We went on a Sunday evening for our 28th anniversary. We were greeted at the door, and seated immediately, we did have a reservation. The food, service and ambiance were top notch. Great flavors and a wonderful meal.
My wife and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary and could not have been happier. While expensive, the food is unbelievable and well worth the price. My wife had the warm crepe and rack of lamb, while I ordered the seared foie gras and venison. The staff was very professional and pleasant.
What a lovely intimate French restaurant in Maplewood, New Jersey. Excellent service, marvelous flavored French cuisine...great background music .. not only French.. but lovely Brazilian and Argentinian sounds, reasonable price point. The menu is simple, with daily specials that make your eyes sparkle! My sister and I love French cuisine and try to go to different French restaurants..but we will have to cheat with a return visit to Restaurant Lorena’s!
Just a note, the beauty to this restaurant is that you BYOB which is great to bring your favorite Sancerre or Chardonnay! Drop by the wine store directly across the street.
Food was ok but way too expensive for the experience.
Lovely dinner on repeat visit
Cozy little restaurant. Limited but good selection for lunch. Went to celebrate a birthday and it fit the bill as a nice, special occasion restaurant. Good service. Delicious food and desserts.
I dined at Lorena’s for brunch and had an amazing experience. The crab and mushroom crepe should not be missed. The atmosphere is sleek and quiet.
My wife and I had a Sunday brunch to celebrate our anniversary. This is a delightful restaurant. Food and service were very good. We will be back.
Amazing especially with Adrian’s attention to detail
The Oysters were chilled to a perfect Temp and complimented with a delicious vinaigrette. The hoped the warm lump crab crepe wouldn’t end. I ordered the filet mignon for my entree which was prepared medium-rare (and came out exactly as ordered) and did not disappoint... another great evening and dining experience at Lorena’s. Bravo Chef Campos!
WOW! First time dining at Lorena's. Had honestly never gone due to BYOB (we prefer a drink to start our dinner), and 20 minutes from home. We've really been missing out. Had duck confit and fois gras appetizer, and steak and venison entrees. Even the vegetables and bread were great. Each dish was delicious, service was efficient and friendly, cannot wait to go back!!
We've been to Lorena's 2x now. Food is always very good. Important item - this is a very nice restaurant but no liquor license so if you're a drinker make sure you've got your bottle in hand. We've gotten the banana dessert twice and realized we don't particularly care for it (2x we ordered it because we had forgotten we had it).
We always go to Lorena's when we want to have a great dining experience. The food is consistently delicious and the portions are not microscopic. From the salmon tartar and wild mushroom soup to the pan seared scallops and delicate sea bass, our dinner was exceptional. Decadent desserts, coffee panna cotta and chocolate molten cake, and 2 cups of wonderful coffee , rounded out a memorable evening. If you have a great bottle of wine and are looking to pair it with some great food, go to Lorena's, you will never be disappointed.
Bday and they surprised us with a dessert!
Service and food are always excellent. We have never been disappointed.
The duck breast, the scallops, soup were excellent. BYOB - so great value and great choice.
Outstanding service and out of this world appetizers.
Spectacular..as always! Wonderful food, professional service and BYO keeps price down....and quiet! A quiet jewel in NJ dining
This was the finest dining in NJ! The duck entree was perfect and the crab/mushroom crepe was exceptional! The venison and oyster specials were perfect as well.
Fabulous experience and food as always! This place is a gem!
One of the best restaurant meals I've ever had! Oysters were the freshest I've ever eaten, the meat was perfectly cooked, and the Panna Cotta was delicious. If you haven't gone yet, reserve now.
We loved it. Its a bit more expensive than what we typically spend for a dinner out but definitely worth it. Great service complimented the wonderful cuisine.
