Restaurant L Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful family dinner for a birthday celebration. Everything was delicious from the warm rolls to the chocolate cake dessert. Lots of options for all ages. Prices are definitely a bit high for a neighborhood restaurant but always delivers on quality and taste.
Pleasantly surprised! Our waitress was a gem (Ann i think her name was) she was attentive and helpful with menu choices. The shrimp appitizer was over the top. The burgers were great and the other menu options looked delicious on other tables. We really enjoyed our meal and the vibe here. Looking foward to our next visit
Excellent service and food. The appetizer special coconut shrimp was very flavorful. Lamb chops cooked perfectly and pecan crusted chicken moist with a nice berry sauce. Warm chocolate cake with caramel ice cream was yummy. The asortment of donuts at the next table looked great too.
Restaurant L never disappoints. The lobster and shrimp quesadilla was wonderful. My short ribs were very good - however the gnocchi was disappointing. My husband is never disappointed with the salmon and I was happy to dig into his mashed parsnips. If still on the wine list the St. Michelle Cab was excellent and only $50.
It was so loud and crowded. Four people were so close to me and drunk and loud. I️ kept
Looking at them to
Please keep their voices down and completely ignored me. We couldn’t wait to leave. I️ finally said they are rude and extremely loud and they laughed. The manager should control the patrons noise level. Also my clams pirtofino was watery and bland.
My husband and I aren’t sure how we missed this local gem since we’re always looking for someplace new. Well, after our very first visit to Restaurant L - it has move right up to the very top of our most favorites list. From the location, ambience, overall service to the spectacular meal. My husband started off with the beet salad that looked so fresh I had to give it a try and it was excellent! For our entrees my husband had the salmon which he says is the best he’s ever had. His only complaint was the portion size. Our waitress Michelle recommended the short ribs dinner (the owner’s mom’s recipe) and I have to say it was amazing! Good news... you can bring your own wine. However there’s a $15 corking fee. Overall.. I highly recommend Restaurant L and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Enjoy! 🍷
Nice, quiet, warm, enjoyable dinner location. Nothing screamed out a specific personality but after eating here I want to return. I simply enjoyed a very tasty dinner in a cordial setting with good service. They allowed us to fade and loll well after all other diners left. I lovely evening over all.
Restaurant L is a favorite of mine in Bergen County. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The staff is very friendly and right there. But the food is what keeps me going back. Everything is as if it were home cooked just for you. Very hot, very fresh, very delicious. I always feel like Im a guest at someones home when I eat there.
The bar area was small but an engaging bartender made up for it with great service and personality.
The dining room was even smaller.
The staff were all very nice but our waitress was way over perfumed.
The food was average.
No need for valet as the lot is huge for that sized restaurant but the older crowd probably appreciates.
We were expecting more.
Our cocktail was the "L" tini. I wouldn't order it again. Almost had a medicinal aftertaste. We started out with the eggplant appetizer and beet salad. Both were very good. For our dinners we had the Tequila-lime shrimp and Beef short ribs. The shrimp was totally tasteless and badly overcooked. The beef short ribs were excellent. Tender and juicy. A real winner. A lot of hits and misses. Hard to know how to rate this place.
We went to celebrate my son and daughter-in-law's anniversary. The reservation was for 6pm so the restaurant was empty. There was only one older couple dining. Both the kids enjoyed their meals. My husband and I had a totally different experience. He asked for his cheeseburger very very rare but it was medium well when he received it. I ordered eggplant napoleon which was described as crispy slices of eggplant layered with mozzarella and rigotta. The eggplant was cut very thick and had the skin still on it. It was a big pile of mush on my plate. The waitress did offer to get me something else, but I had completely lost my appetite by then. She really should have taken it off the check as I only had 2 bites but she did not. Dessert was fair.
The following day I had lunch there with a large group of people. The reservation had been made a week ago and it was too late to change it. Lunch was a much better experience.
Proper use of seating options was not utilized properly by staff. We were seated near a foursome discussing TV shows in a loud manner and then stayed long after bill being paid Seriously this is not a coffee shop.
Very limited wine list. Wine that was chosen was out of stock with no substitute offered.
Our waitress was lovely. Table service / pouring wine and inquiries regarding more beverages offered was lax
This is a regular go to place, we have not had a bad meal or bad experience to date. The restaurant is smallish so there is limited elbow room however the acoustics are not bad so quiet conversation is doable. The menu offers something for everyone even picky eaters.
While the hostesses were just great, the food was good. But our waitress, Ann, treated us horribly. The issue started when I believe, George, he was the owner, pointed and told the waitress to give the people behind us special care (my wife saw him point to the couple). While our service was below average, it just got worse, if that is at all possible! She didn't pay ANY attention to us at all. In fact, after she spoke to the couple for a few minutes, as she turned around, she looked at us as she was walking past, and said "Is everything okay?" But never stopped to hear us to see if we were okay. Completely unprofessional and for this reason I will not go back!
The food and drinks were very good. The staff were very nice however the service was very slow. It wasn't the same as not rushing us. We waited for over 20 minutes just to get our drink order. Once our food was ordered it was served quickly and was hot and very good.
