The Restaurant at Gideon Ridge
A charming restaurant with lovely surroundings. We love to have dinner there whenever we visit Blowing Rock. The food is very good and the service excellent. The friendly staff is very efficient and accommodating. A great place to celebrate a special occasion. We'll be back soon.
A must if visiting the Blowing Rock area, romantic 5 star dining overlooking a beautiful mountain view - simply amazing
Menu is getting a bit repetitious, but still delicious - love the Spotify playlist
Hunter out does himself EVERY time we visit! The corn and crab fritters melted in your moth! The Asian flared soup with seafood was outstanding. Hunter and staff (we had Cory!) are professional and friendly, full of knowledge and on point! iIF you can GET a reservation... GO!! Until next visit! Michele A.
Great food in a rustic setting. We had dinner outside on the porch, enjoyed the food and our conversation with the next table. The blankets worked wonders when it turned chilly. Moved indoors for desert and coffee. Great meal.
Great as usual.
Our dining experience could not have been better!
Everything FAR exceeding expectation. It made our anniversary exceptional.
We can't wait to go back,
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Restaurant at Gideon Ridge. It was our first time there, but won't be our last time! The service and the food were outstanding. We also greatly appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the amazing view.
The very best restaurant! They have found perfection in every detail and every dish. The location is also magnificent. We had the seafood salad and pate to start. The seafood salad was fresh and tasty and the pate amazing! We each had the pork tenderloin and it was out of this world. It was cooked to the perfect temperature and was tender and the black lentils and asparagus each had their own delicious seasoning, texture and taste. Truly a work of art! We had the flourless chocolate torte and it was the best we’ve ever had. Jessica was our server and helped us with every course selection, was attentive throughout the evening and made the experience wonderful! The Chef also came out twice to make sure everything and everyone was enjoying themselves. Gideon Ridge is perfection!
Outstanding experience. Enjoyed outside dining.
We stayed at the Inn here and enjoyed dinner on the first night. The chef came to our table and talked to us about the entrees, taking extra time to tell us where the ingredients came from and how they were prepared. The food exceeded our expectations! The lamb sirloin was wonderful and the bananas foster dessert was more than delicious. The service feels like a boutique experience, they are very attentive and accommodating. And the views are spectacular! Beautiful property, very private and peaceful with lots of flowers and landscape. Will definitely be back!
This is one of the best restaurants my wife and I have dined at in quite a while. Great view, intimate setting, and outstanding food and wine selections make this a must stop visit the next time we are in the North Carolina mountains.
Food was over the top! Service was great, look forward to returning.
Great dining experience with outstanding views! The food is well presented with unique ingredients and a lot are locally sourced! Great interaction with chef and staff!!!!
A lovely meal with great food and great service. The wine list is overpriced and the only food glitch was that the crime brûlée we were served (citrus) was not what we ordered (coffee) and our server’s only comment was, “oh, I think they switched it out.”
The Restaurant at Gideon Ridge is a treasure. Beautiful location and views, lovely dining area setting, friendly and attentive service, and truly exceptional food. The thoughtfully created menu was executed to perfection on every part of every course. This is one of those places where you'll dream of returning. Anyone visiting the Asheville NC area should make sure to dine here at least once - you will not regret it!
The setting is beautiful, with a long-distance view of the mountains and the valley below Blowing Rock. We enjoyed a cocktail on the porch followed by a magnificent dinner in the beautifully restored old inn.
A wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant with amazing views of the mountains. Our server was friendly and helpful with our wine selection, and our salads, seared tuna, and lavender crepe dessert were all superb.
Even without the imaginative cuisine and excellent service, the ambiance and fantastic view of the mountains would make an evening there a special occasion.
Hunter and staff do NOT DISAPPOINT!! I have been to Michelin Star restaurants, Gideons’s Ridge never fails to impress. The lamb sirloin melted in your mouth. The scallops? Perfection. Hunter is kind to come out to greet and ask if there is anything he can do to make you’re experience better. Joseph, our waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and happy to help you decide on which choice would please your distinct tastes. From “ soup to nuts” you can not go wrong with Gideons’s Ridge; that’s if you can find a reservation. Hunter, keep being you, and thank you again for another superior dining experience.
Another amazing dining experience. Each dish is wonderfully creative, thoroughly satisfying in every way. Looking forward to the next visit.
We moved full time to BR four months ago. Gideon Ridge is on our regular calendar now, once a month. Chef Hunter is the best chef in the High Country. That is saying something because there are some really excellent chefs in BR, Boone, and Banner Elk. It’s the ambience, good service and perfectly flavored dishes that bring us back. You get to leave regular life for a while and ease on into mountain restfulness. All I can say, Chef, is thanks!
Everything was outstanding, from the sunset view over cocktails to the fabulous menu (we loved the winter brussel sprout salad), to the most polite and efficient wait staff.
This is the finest dining experience in Blowing Rock without a doubt. All 4 at our table ate every bite of each course without sharing! We were so pleased we immediately rebooked for the next weekend.
Gideon Ridge has been and continues to be be the High Country's best restaurant. Great location, quiet atmosphere, beautiful views, but most importantly, fantastic Food. Chef Hunter Womble does an incredible job sourcing some of the freshest local items and styling them into remarkable dishes. The seasonal menus give you a great reason (as if you needed another) to come back again and again. The servers are knowledgeable and provide that perfect level of service -- just enough but not too much if you want to linger. To top it off, the library and porch are excellent locations for a before or after dinner drink. This is simply a wonderful restaurant.
Fabulous dining experience!
The food was outstanding! It was our first time dining at Gideon Ridge and we can’t wait to go back again. It was the best meal Ever! Loved it! Service was exceptional with attention to every detail.
As always, the service is top notch. The menu is always different and wonderful. Chef Hunter uses only the freshest ingredients procured from the local area when possible. Our meals were high quality and delicious! Thank you for making our birthday dinners special!
I surprised my husband for his birthday and we stayed at Gideon’s Ridge and had dinner with them. The food was absolute perfection! The escargots were tender and perfectly cooked. The duck was delicious but HANDS DOWN the skate was to-die-for delicious! The chef is very friendly and stopped to talk with each diner, and gave us tips on how he prepared the skate. We plan on making this a yearly ritual (preferably several times a year)!
Amazing food!! We are never disappointed!
Beautiful property with a intimate atmosphere and awesome food !
Great staff. Great atmosphere. Great food.
Arrived a few minutes early, offered drinks and room to relax. The food preparation and presentation was out of sight. The taste could not have been better. We had a very nice evening.
It was excellent! The food was incredibly delicious and fresh and the waitress was so knowledgeable and attentive. Great wine and cocktails too! The restaurant is a beautiful inn with old world class, but not stuffy. Love the restroom as well. Very clean and well appointed.
One of my all-time favorite restaurants. Creative seasonal local options, perfectly prepared. Amazing experience.
We highly recommend. Most accommodating, with finally a location that people aren't rude where talking so loud that everyone can hear their conversations. The customers actually used great manners and etiquette.
Great food, great service, wonderful experience!
Excellent meal and great service.
4 courses were all excellent Pate’ through Double Chocolate Poke Cake. Boom Count it. 5 stars
