Restaurant Eugene Ratings and Reviews
Everything about this place was impeccable. My wife and I did the $125 6 course tasting, we were so excited in the days leading up to the reservation as we had been there several years ago and it was great. The staff is impeccable and funny when they want to be, the dining room is beautiful, although a little stiff and quiet (very hushed talking) and the presentation of the food is museum like, beautiful, pretty, awe inspiring. But and it was a very big but...probably half of the courses were just bla. looked beautiful, but completely lacked in taste. I eat at restaurants all over the US as a sales person, lots of them, lots of really good ones, I was just shocked. Then I noticed a fair amount of empty seats on a Saturday night at 8:30 and realized maybe the word is out and we just didn't get it. For $250 plus drinks, we were expecting a lot more taste.
Best restaurant in Atlanta!!! no doubts! We spent our 10th wedding anniversary early February 2018 and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The food was incredible, the plates looked like pieces of art, the explanation of each dish and wines was awesome, an OUTSTANDING service, beautiful decorated place.... We had the tasting Menu and it was an incredible culinary trip!
The Eugene Team was aware about our anniversary and from the very first moment and until we left make us feel so special. They transformed our special night into a memorable one that we will never forget.
Last but not least let me CONGRATULATE all the team at the kitchen for their amazing cooking! They are so talented! Congratulations!!!!
So Pretentious. Waiter frequently interrupted our conversation to ask if everything was 'Delightful', but never appeared when needed. He offered unsolicited advise and information (the history and reason for claypot cooking) but he could not tell us what the main course 'Southern Vegetables ' consisted of ('maybe risotto'). It took almost 3 1/2 hours to serve us 3 courses. Painful!
Much of the food was simply odd. An hors d’oeuvre of pimento cheese in sweet macaroons? A thick bland benne seed pudding with sweet whipped cream. My main course of 1 small quail was tasty but ever so tiny. The pork duo was quite good. Nothing was good enough to order it again.
We were disappointed. We’ve enjoyed the restaurant in the past for special occasions or when we wanted to treat ourselves, but this time the food was overly rich and there were too many amuse bouche pre-appetizer courses and rich breads served. It was all just too much. This was our sixth visit but I doubt we’ll ever go back. They might want to think about lightening up a bit.
I went to Restaurant Eugene for a special occasion, my partners birthday. I made a reservation through OpenTable, I did have to place a debit/credit card on file to secure a reservation.
There is complimentary valet, we arrived inside and was given an amazing seat, the ambiance is dimly lit and romantic. We had 4 different servers, they serve as a team and provided an excellent service. They really made my partner and I feel special and the food was amazing. We will be returning for the tasting menu and they do accommodate for allergies.
I will absolutely be returning and I highly recommend Restaurant Eugene. They are highly knowledgeable of food, pleasantries, and their level of service is untouchable.
This meal was truly outstanding! We all agreed it was one of the best we have ever had. Impeccable service and attention to detail. The quality of the food was top notch- sophisticated layers of flavor and taste. Beautifully presented and the passion and talent of the chef shows through every bite! Lovely decor and ambiance. Quiet and a perfect spot to converse and actually be able to hear your fellow table mates. If you are looking for a special place to dine in Atlanta you must put Restaurant Eugene on the list...you will not be disappointed.
We celebrated our wedding with Restaurant Eugene. The staff provided impeccable service and excellent cuisine. The Eugene tasting menu was exceptional; definitely the kind of meal we wanted to mark our special day. There were so many courses, I lost track of all the wonderful dishes, but we particularly enjoyed the caviar appetizer. The main course, New York strip and foie gras, was incredible. The host served us a complimentary champagne toast and every employee we encountered congratulated us on the wedding. We can't say enough good things about the experience. Thank you!
It used to be the best service in Atlanta, it isn’t anymore. It is expensive and it used to be worth it and that is no longer the case. I have food allergies and they used to make certain I would be safe. That was not the case this time, I was served food with something I’m allergic to. They failed to adjust the wine pairings and I had to ask for a different wine as beef carpaccio and Chardonnay don’t go well. This used to be my favorite, it makes me sad.
We tried the six course tasting menu and were truly surprised and delighted by each artfully presented dish. All ingredients were seasonal and freshly prepared in creative combinations which pleased the pallet. I would never have thought to put together some of the items-- such as one course which included roasted fall vegetables with a spring flavored ice cream and smoked meat bits--- but it proved to be a delicious combination. We had a number of different servers, all very professional with some more personable than others. Left feeling well fed, entertained and happy with the entire experience. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Restaurant Eugene is a treasure. The staff is amazing, so dinner there is a personalized experience. The food is amazing, imaginative, and presented beautifully. We went for a special anniversary meal and they treated us like we were very special guests. It's expensive, so only a very special occasion for us, but Eugene is our favorite restaurant in Atlanta, no question.
We went to Eugene for my birthday this year. Exceeded every expectation. Service was unbelievably good. The food was incredible. In Atlanta you can’t go wrong going here for a special occasion. The only other restaurant I would compare it to would be Bachanalia and I actually think the service was better here. Will definitely be going again and recommending to others.
