Restaurant Eugene Ratings and Reviews
We tried the six course tasting menu and were truly surprised and delighted by each artfully presented dish. All ingredients were seasonal and freshly prepared in creative combinations which pleased the pallet. I would never have thought to put together some of the items-- such as one course which included roasted fall vegetables with a spring flavored ice cream and smoked meat bits--- but it proved to be a delicious combination. We had a number of different servers, all very professional with some more personable than others. Left feeling well fed, entertained and happy with the entire experience. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Restaurant Eugene is a treasure. The staff is amazing, so dinner there is a personalized experience. The food is amazing, imaginative, and presented beautifully. We went for a special anniversary meal and they treated us like we were very special guests. It's expensive, so only a very special occasion for us, but Eugene is our favorite restaurant in Atlanta, no question.
We went to Eugene for my birthday this year. Exceeded every expectation. Service was unbelievably good. The food was incredible. In Atlanta you can’t go wrong going here for a special occasion. The only other restaurant I would compare it to would be Bachanalia and I actually think the service was better here. Will definitely be going again and recommending to others.
My date and I opted for the 6 course meal. It is a surprise what you will get. We were willing to taste what the chef wanted to present. There is not one thing that I ate that I thought was delicious or enjoyed. The food tasted good is all I can say. The culinary experience seemed to be more about the display than the taste creation. The servings matched the pictures I saw online prior to my visit, dainty. My impression is that the restaurant caters to the southern palate. The first thing we got to try was a macaron filled with pimento and cheese. Unusual. We had a little taste of caviar. (The open table site won't load my picture.) Our salad or what replaced the salad portion of the course was cherry tomatoes (whoops, I do not like tomatoes) with elaborate toppings of some dry iced frothy, smokey, dense - okay not sure what it was because it wasn't cream? I think. It was accompanied with some type of basil paste. The main course was thick cut of smokey Canadian bacon and smokey pork belly which I think is surprising because I would not consider those items as gourmet or fine dining. We do not eat pork generally. Some bacon accents to a meal would be acceptable to us. Did not think we needed to disclose this as a dietary restriction while dining at such a fine restaurant. The 6 piece course we selected was $95 per person. The service should have been better than our expectations, which are not high really as we are pleasant, patient and not demanding. We noticed that we were not being tended to and waited for the wine we wanted. If you need to make the diner wait, make sure they have their cocktail to ease their patience. The wine wasn't topped off whenever the server came to the table. I have had far better service at a lesser dining experience.
Amazing!!!! Food was delicious, service was great. Took my husband and family there for his birthday. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone loved their cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees, desserts, coffee. So glad to have had such a great dining experience. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
Justin, Alex, and Jaman were so great and fun to talk to. The food was literally indescribable. The tasting menu was an experience unlike any other. I'm a grunt and don't have a lot of money, but we planned and saved up for this night, and we both agreed we can't wait to do it again! Thank you so much!
We had the pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at Rest. Eugene this past weekend and were happy to be able to secure a reservation at a month out. Someone called to confirm a fews a head of time and we shared our occasion and also a dairy intolerance that I have. We had a very warm greeting and nice note congratulating us when we arrived for dinner. The staff confirmed my no dairy request and discussed menu options, recommending the chef's10 course tasting menu. I was a little hesitant as this is very pricey, about $190 per person. Since it was a special occasion, we decided to go for it and the staff assured me that the chef can take of my dairy intolerance with the tasting menu. And we were off on the tasting journey and opted for wine pairings as well. Throughout the evening, the wines were 100% on point. We really enjoyed all of them and were glad to try things we otherwise would not have selected. The food- I am so conflicted about the food. Overall, the everything tasted wonderful. There were many fun and interesting flavors and combos. There was always a lot going on in a tiny portion on the plate. There were many inventive and scientific ways of preparing food and technique. My one HUGE problem was dairy came on my plate several times. The times that the dairy item was subbed off, the substitute item was often a piece of grilled fruit. For this price point just as much thought should be put into the subbed item/dairy free plate as the regular plate. The hefty price for the meal didn't reflect in the dairy free plates. And of course I couldn't eat/taste all of the food that was brought with obviously creamy sauces/butter cooked on or with them. I ended up picking around it for a half nibble I could enjoy. I was really disappointed about this.
Now about the service- I've never been to a place with such an eye for detail and attention for everything. That was completely top notch and wonderful.
Restaurant Eugene is likely our favorite spot for gourmet dining in all of Atlanta. We never tire of the ever-changing menu, decadent food and perfect wine pairings. The staff is amazing, with knowledge that is sure to impress. It;S as near perfect as you will find.
We dine at Restaurant Eugene just about every time we visit Atlanta. This trip we indulged in the small tasting menu with a wine pairing too. Everything was excellent and the service is impeccable. They also always have interesting craft cocktails on the menu.
Restaurant Eugene is easily one of the top 2 or 3 restaurants in Atlanta.
We had been to Eugene's multiple times in the past, and had been generally pleased. This time, however, the service was poor. The food was tasty but both our dishes were barely warm. We will not be returning, unfortunately.
One of the best dining experiences in Atlanta, Linton Hopkins has created an instant classic restaurant. With an incredibly talented chef (Chris Edwards, previously of Holeman and Finch) and front of house staff, the experience is second to none in Atlanta even compared to the venerable fine dining icons like Nikolai's Roof, Aria, Canoe, etc. I rank the service, culinary creativity, and wine list above any of those spots. Kudos Linton, on nailing it - looking for more great things out of the Resurgens Restaurant Group!
