Everything there is exceptional! Highly recommend!
Staff was so lovely to us. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. We had chilly experiences with the staff in the past so it was really nice to be greeted so warmly by all.
We were impressed with the room.
The salad was - well - weird and not good tasting.
The entree was good - not wonderful.
We will come back
It would be nice if the food was more predictable.
But it was a good experience and we’ll come back
Great tasting menu. Fantastic service. Wonderful wine pairings.
Returned to this restaurant after years of remembering it fondly. Upheld our memory of an extra special experience. Actually went this time to celebrate my birthday. The concierge service, the ambiance were top rate. The food was superb, not just terrific. The preparation was notable and the subtleties of taste were demonstrated the skills of the chefs. This is a must return restaurant and we won't wait long to do so.
First of all, let me say that the service we received was perfect in the old-school way. While there were no major complaints, I will say that restaurant experiences have evolved, and this style of dining now seems forced, pretentious, and unnecessarily formalized. The interior decor feels somewhat “corporate”, the suits and elevator jazz felt formulaic, and the food left little to the imagination. I was pleasantly surprised to find Dirty&Rowdy’s Chenin Blanc on the wine list, but the menu didn’t keep pace in its daring or innovation.
Wife’s birthday and invited two other couples to join as a surprise. Went very well, and we all had the tasting menu which was fabulous as always! Wine selection was extraordinary and went really well with the courses. Rezervation was for 7:30 and we left after midnight!
Second year in a row having my birthday dinner at RE and it did not disappoint. Service is wonderful and tasting menu is so fun. Wine recommendations were spot on too. This is close to being on par with fine dining in NY.
The experience started off strong, but after the entree was served, things went downhill fast.
It took a very long time to get our dessert order placed. Our coffee was not fully brewed, so we were served light brown water from a french press, and no one was around to provide us with our bill.
After hearing so many things about this R.E., I was very surprised by how the evening ended.
Exceptional dining experience by the staff. We chose the tasting menu and the staff made sure that vegan options we made to meet our needs. Very attentive staff who explained about every one of the courses and the difference between vegan and non-vegan, sourcing of the food, etc. We got the opportunity to meet the chef and his staff who were very cordial and made the dining experience standout even more. We have been to Restaurant Eugene a number of times but this was the best by far. They brought out a birthday cake for my wife who is vegan and had special cocktail for us to celebrate the event.
My anniversary dinner at restaurant Eugene was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable and the food was wonderful.
We started with drinks at the bar. Alex made a delicious vodka and hibiscus cocktail. We then moved to the dining room for a full tasting. Of the 8 courses my favorites were the trigger fish and the steak. I also enjoyed the full wine pairing. To be honest it was a lot of wine! They were expertly chosen, thank you Jenny! The staff were knowledgeable about all of the dishes and were immediately able to answer my questions. I don't think my water glass was ever empty thanks to Nick. Our server Charles was very pleasant and professional-he made sure we had a wonderful time. The jazz playlist was excellent, a perfect compliment to my evening. My extended gratitude to Chef James and the entire staff for making my anniversary an amazing experience.
Food and beverage simply the best. Ambience complements the food
We enjoyed a family celebration. The maitre’d and team made the event very special. We had several dietary requests and preferences, and all preferences were honored.
Made happy memories!
Our first experience at Restaurant Eugene did not disappoint, and in fact, far exceeded expectations. The pictures online of the food and environment do not do the restaurant justice. We were blown away with the atmosphere, very swanky and elegant. The service was the perfect amount of attentiveness while still allowing us to enjoy our experience as a couple. You can tell everyone that works there is very passionate about what they do, which contributed to the overall experience. We partook in the full 7 course menu and we’re blown away at the creativity, presentation, and taste of every course and in addition, were very accommodating for dietary restrictions without losing flavor. We cannot wait for our next experience!
Very good service and food was just delish. Crab potage appetizer is to die for. Trout and pork dishes were good. 7-layer chocolate cake was also really good. Not many reasonable choices for wine but gin and vodka selections were a nice surprise. We'll be back.
We had a reservation but decided to dine at the bar after learning that the bartender just accepted a position at 11 Madison Park for a sommelier internship. Impressive. My dining partner is a Chef himself and so we decided to stay at the bar and just drill the bartender with questions the whole time. It was a great night with exceptional food and service.
We had the 8 course chef's tasting menu and the full service took more than three hours. A little long for a dinner in my opinion. There were some significant breaks between courses. Nevertheless, R|E is an incredible restaurant.
At Restaurant Eugene, you are certain to be taken on a culinary journey you wouldn’t want to come back from so soon!
It was my first time going to a higher end restaurant like this (and having caviar). There were multiple people who helped make our night really memorable.
One man, I forgot his name, but told the head chef it was my first time having caviar so he brought out more for us to enjoy. I thought having the petite tasting was going to leave me hungry and going to fat Matt’s after the dinner to have another sandwich but I was wrong. The meal was very satisfying.
The steak, the salmon, the soufflé, ... all very delicious.
Everything but the food was fabulous. Service and ambiance were EXCELLENT....if food was better would have been a memorable experience. Will try again just because everything else was soooo good and hopefully food will be better next time.
We were the only people in the restaurant after about 30-40 minutes. The table next to us had been cleared, table cloth removed and crumbs on the table the entire time we were there. Champagne glasses mismatched were not removed and I said later that we were not having a drink and they were removed. The biggest complaint I have is that chicken and country ham were advertised as part of the prix fix menu but it was $20 more for chicken. I did not appreciate the bait and switch. I have waited tables and know when you are not that busy things can get slack. Our waiter was very nice as was the case with the other employees. It has been quite a while since I dined at Restaurant Eugene and I will be back, but really hoping this experience was a one off when I come back with clients.
Never disappoints. Top notch service, food and drink.
Sommelier and waitstaff were excellent. Food was superb.
Pricey, but worthwhile! Great staff with an exceptional bar and capable wine list. Fantastic pacing and conception of the meal with excellent wine pairings.
Outstanding dinner. Chef’s tasting with wine pairings. Service was as outstanding as the we’ve come to expect.
Perfect. As always
Special occasion dining, highly personalized service. Expensive but not overpriced. Every course tasty and came as advertised
Perfect portions for the small tasting menu and outstanding service.
We love this restaurant. It doesn’t disappoint. We were attending a conference and recommended it to friends and all of them were very happy. Decent half bottle wine list.
Always consistently amazing.
Incredible, as always. One of the four of us is vegan and the chef prepared an amazing tasting menu for her in parallel with the regular tasting menu for the rest.
Outstanding food and service
Beautiful food, amazing service!! Can’t wait to return!
Working in the restaurant industry for the past 20 years, I have never had a better dining experience. Between the amazing staff; maître d', sommelier, waiter, busser, and everyone else who came to the table. The level of service is unmatched anywhere. This should be the standard level of service. I truly appreciate this. Thank you all for making a great evening even greater. We will be back many more times.
The food was amazing. There were no bad dishes. One of our party was gluten free and you would never know it from the quality and taste of the food. The service was beyond impeccable. Well done. I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend it.
Birthday, I can’t wait to dine there again
Excellent in every area, taste, presentation of dishes, service and ambience. This was for NYE and it was worth the price for the 7-8 courses.
Incredible Service! At a time when "fine dining" has gone so casual, it is refreshing to dine somewhere that truly takes care of you from the minute you walk in the door. And of course, the food is always exquisite here.
Outstanding food and service
I was mostly happy with my visit however I feel the amount of food and wine received did not feel adequate for the price paid. My wife and I had the 6 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. The food was most delicious and wine paired well with each course. I feel the portion size of each course and the amount of wine served with each course was insufficient. The tasting menu was made up of mostly smaller sized portions from the al a-carte menu. If we do return we will most likely order from the al a-carte menu as they had many delicious sounding options. You could order an appetizer and two full sized entrees with drinks for less than the price we paid for one person to have the tasting menu with wine pairing. I want to stress the food we ate at the restaurant was delicious we just felt we did not get our money’s worth.
