Food, experience, staff it was all great. Great evening with a friend
Excellent food and service to match. Friendly down to earth staff who were very attentive to our needs and personal tastes.
Food was exceptional from the cocktails and appetizers to the dessert. Complimentary digestif and chocolate was a bonus and very nice touch.
We had lunch for the first time at Pennisula Ridge. The food was excellent the service was great and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. We will be back.
Have been at Peninsula a couple times before, with good experience.
This time, Saturday lunch, the service very very slow with restaurant half full; and
the food mixed...don't have pizza or crab cakes - cold and dried out.
Great value for what we had. The wine was lovely, the surf and turf was great and we would definately return!
First time dining at peninsula ridge- Sunday brunch. It was wonderful. Warm scones with drizzle of white chocolate. Beautiful presentation of all dishes. Crab cakes and Caesar salad for starters. Large size - good dishes to share
Entrees served hot Vegetarian frittata , poached eggs, trout and a burger were ordered. Everyone
enjoyed their meal. We tried the Chardonnay - clean crisp wine for brunch
Very nice setting, server was super nice and knowledgeable, food was very good. What more do you want
has really improved over time. Waitress was excellent.
My husband and I went for dinner. I received a gift card from work when I retired in June. This was our first visit to the Restaurant.
The food was amazing, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was wonderful with the great views of the properties' rolling hills. As the restaurant is in wine country, the wine was superb. The chef did an amazing job with the beautiful main courses, salad and presentation.
We will definitely go back.
Tracey, our waitress was superb from the moment we sat down to the very end of our meal - gave suggestions that were spot on - she was overworked as she was the only waitress for the entire ground floor. Food was superb - we started with the crab cakes to no disappointment then, my wife had the surf and turf (always delicious) and I had the pork belly w sea scallops also delicious - we opted for the walnut tart desert and that didn't let us down at all w complimentary drink from Peninsula Ridge - the evening was a wonderful night out - we will definitely be back in the not - too - distant future !
Superb lunch. Great menu choices. Excellent presentation. Friendly and prompt service. We received a gift card to visit a while back and we would definitely return. Reasonable prices for this type of higher end restaurant. Beautiful view of the lake from our table and elegant dining atmosphere! Thanks to Jeannie for making our lunch with friends one to remember!
Nice restaurant, but I can rate it only 4*
We went early on a Saturday and got a very private table just off the front door/ greeting area.
The wine (their own) was excellent. I had the chicken, probably one of the best I've had. I was really pleased. My wife had the fish dish which was also very good.
We hadn't been there for about 12 years, and after our meal decided this was bad judgement on our part and we are looking forward to going back. We actually returned the next day to purchase some of the wine that we had!
Place is nice, wine is good, food is not. Diner quality food for lunch. Inch of butter on my burger.
Excellent as always. One of my favourite restaurants for lunch or dinner.
Overall it was a great evening, the Surf and Turf was great. I thought being a winey restaurant the wine by glass was a little overpriced @$15.00 ... when the same wine sells in the winery for $24.00.
We were there for a Valentines lunch. It was superb!!!
My wife and I decided to try the dining room following a recommendation from a friend of mine who lives in Etobicoke and was familiar with the Winery and the dining room.
It was a very enjoyable evening. The food was very good, the service was attentive. The only negative was the location of our table (which we had chosen BTW) because it was not well lit. The ceiling lighting was behind my wife, and my chair backed into the fireplace. We hadn't wanted to be in the middle of the room, but I guess we chose the table without due care to the lighting.
We also didn't know there was additional seating on the second floor, which might have better met our expectations. Next time perhaps.
Wonderful dinner. Great staff. We've been here before and we will go again.
The service was great! Server was very attentive and educated in wine. The food was delicious. We come here fo all special occasions.
Delicious food, beautiful setting & excellent service!
Our new year's eve at Peninsula Ridge was ideal. Great food, wine and service. Will be back!
Good food - good service what else do you need. Rated noise level high but that was due to a "loud mouth, know everything patron" ! No fault of the restaurant .
Lovely, cozy dining room with a spectacular view of the vineyards. The Rose was excellent!
Lovely place that was very accommodating to our hurried luncheon!
We sat upstairs next to a drafty door. Our food was delicious and well plated. Our service was poor. Neither our waitress nor the bus person checked on us during the entire meal. I had to ask for a refill of my glass of water and my question was met with a quizzical and unpleasant response. Not five star dining at its best when only the food is superior.
We liked the relaxed atmosphere like being at a friend's home for dinner. The celebration was a birthday - what was nice was that none of the attending staff let on about any celebration until the desert which came out with a candle on it. The service was well timed and executed smoothly without a flaw. The ceasar salad was extremely tasty. The food was delicious from my wife's halibut, my surf and turf , my good friend's surf and turf and the birthday girl's salmon done to perfection. The steaks were perfectly cooked medium. All rubs and spices used added to the ultimate feast. The wine list was proprietor's wine and it did not leave us feeling like we needed a further selection. The Shiraz was delicious.
We will definitely come back again.
Enjoyed a truly memorable lunch. Superb food and setting. Will definitely be back to try more of their amazing dishes and won't wait for a special occasion either.
Great food , service and atmosphere. We’ll be back for sure.
A great table, in a classic mansion dining room, served by very friendly & knowledgeable people. And then eating the best entrees we’ve had in years.
What more can you ask for?
Had a very good time and meal. Room was a little cool as we were on the second floor. Beautiful location.
It was a lovely evening with friends. It completeled a great day of wine tasting in the area.
The food was wonderful, tasty, creative and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. The wait staff were attentive and very pleasant. Views from the restaurant across Lake Ontario and the winery are lovely. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed her birthday lunch.
Years ago, with talented chef 'Ned Bell' at its helm, owner of this winery fine-dining destination had the grandiose aspiration of transforming it into the 'French Laundry' of the Niagara wine region. Unfortunately, with only a short tenure, Chef Bell decided to depart for greener pastures on the west coast!
Although this sudden development was a devastating one, however, the owners managed to overcome the adversity and, through out all these years, managed to maintain this premise as one of the best winery dining destinations in the region.
With a fairly mild and partially sunny day, we decided to show our out-of-town guest a completely 'change-of-scenery' luncheon dining experience. Being on a quiet weekday, we received a very special treatment by having the entire upper floor dining room of the restaurant all to ourselves! Unexpected Private Dining treatment! What a way to impress our guest! Ha!
Currently, under the guidance of Chef Matt Hemingson, Peninsula Ridge is offering some delightful French influence cuisine with a rustic touch, using mainly local and Canadian ingredients. Food was well executed with some interesting and delectable taste profile. Casing point, a flavorful, fork tender grass-fed beef brisket and Steamed Mussels with Lavender, fennel and Bee Pollen! Portions were surprisingly generous and IMO, extremely good value for money. Service was charming, efficient and friendly. Decor and ambiance was quaint, romantic, quiet and artful.
BTW, of all the dishes savored, the star of the meal was an amazingly delicious ' Warm Local Pear Strudel with Forty Creek Whiskey ice cream and Chestnut cream '! Man! Was that goooood!!
The food is delicious!
Everything is fresh and full of flavour and the combinations are perfect.
All 4 of us loved our food and, of course, the wine is fantastic.
We'll definitely be back!
Wow - what a great experience! We were leaving wine country and looking for a place for brunch. We decided to skip the line-ups and bustle of downtown NOTL and stopped in at Peninsula Ridge on the way home. We now have another go-to place when we visit Twenty Valley and he Beamsville Bench.
Great setting, meal & service! Bought a bottle of the wine that was served, to enjoy again at home. One of our party had a birthday & the special treat after the meal was appreciated!
Food was excellent, intimate atmosphere and waitress was very attentive. Would definitely go back
We have always wanted to go here. Glad we did. Everything was great. Service, food, atmosphere etc. Nothing that we did not like. We will definitely be back
Creative menu with good presentation. Book early to get a reservation! Great views from the Niagara escarpment overlooking Lake Ontario. Laidback relaxed dining. Attentive but not overbearing service.
