About Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch
Overlooking the beautiful, rolling hills of Diamond Bar, the Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch at Cal Poly Pomona boasts one of the valley's most romantic & chic settings. The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch is a student-operated restaurant, serving both lunch and dinner. The restaurant is part of the Hospitality Management curriculum at The Collins College of Hospitality Management at Cal Poly Pomona. In the restaurant, students rotate weekly through various positions, including management, in order to learn all aspects of a hospitality operation. Some of the finest professionals in the industry facilitate student learning. The faculty team includes Chef Ernie Briones, Lesley Butler, Barbara Jean Bruin and Chef Scott Rudolph.

The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch is an ideal location for private dining and special events. The restaurant can accommodate private groups depending on the size and scope of the event, based on availability. Guests are welcome to order from a pre-set banquet menu or work directly with a chef on faculty to design a unique menu for your event. Based on seasonality, menus may feature items from the culinary garden or other Cal Poly Pomona-grown products.
Reservations and a banquet contract are required for all special events.

When I arrived the hosts had pleasant smiles. Felt comfortable from the start. We had a cozy table with a nice view. The whole staff was very professional. Our waiter Stephen was very helpful and sociable. I would definitely recommend it to friends, family as well as co-workers.
This place is hard to find. It is a student-run restaurant in the Cal Poly Pomona campus. Google Maps failed us. It is at the end of Horse Hill Drive on top of the hill overlooking the 57 freeway. The food was great and very reasonable for a 3-course meal. The menu is prix-fixe with an appetizer, main course and dessert. There are at least 3 options to choose from for each course. We will come back here since we live 15 minutes away.
It's a nice restaurant and it's great to give hospitality students the experience cooking and serving. The service was fine, but WAY too much. We had multiple servers/managers asking us how everything was and whether we wanted anything else -- over and over again. Frankly, it interrupted our conversation too many times. Once or twice is plenty. The kids were cute, however, and it's hard to get upset when they are trying so hard.
Brooke F. did a great job making sure our dining and drink needs were met. She was kind and professional. She made helpful suggestions and did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our dining experience. My husband and I ordered the from the pre fixe menu - $30.00 for three courses. Great deal! My first course - the Ahi and avocado poke - was delicious - beautifully dressed. Our strip steaks were fantastic . And the complimentary pretzel rolls were scrumptious. This place is a hidden gem. That the food was prepared by culinary students is just wonderful. They did a superb job. We hope to return soon!
Afraid to give a worthy 5 rating, because it's difficult to get a reservation. It must be noted, the restaurant has always lived up to my 5 star rating. The food is well seasoned, I ordered a steak sandwich; which I never due to lack of tenderness, the steak was absolutely tender. Son ordered fish, of which he absolutely raved over. Next time. If I can get a reservation, I will order the turkey club, daughter in-law stated it was carved turkey and not commonly served processed poultry.
Good food! This is a student run restaurant - the service is very attentive. The menu is set for a quarter with weekly specials. I had an affogato for dessert when I was there - it was very good. Every item on the menu looked yummy, so I had difficulty choosing. I went with the strawberry salad - 5 stars, and the club sandwich - 5 stars. I appreciated that the fruit cup with the sandwich had blackberries in it in addition to melon and pineapple. Good combo. It's a little tricky to find the restaurant - just follow the directions on their web page. Great to see the students learning the ropes.
My long-time friends and I thoroughly enjoy lunching at Kellogg Ranch. Years ago, we were part of a ladies group which regularly met at your fine restaurant, and utilized Cal Poly meeting rooms as well. It is truly a delight to return to Kellogg Ranch and we thought the new décor very current and lovely. Your staff has always been excellent, too.

Really nice ambiance - quiet, modern interior, and an AMAZING view of the rolling hills around Cal Poly! Have seen it at night and it is even prettier with all the lights. Would be a great place for a date night.
Shared many of the items. I'm not much of an appetizer person, but theirs were fantastic! I am a lamb-hater, but the Lamb Huaraches were yummy, the shrimp ceviche also, and everyone raved over the avocado bruschetta (it was gone before I got a chance!). A nearby table ordered the steak fries which also looked really good. The catch of the day topped with pineapple salsa was delicious. Also the turkey club. My daughter devoured her spinach and strawberry salad. I didn't try the Pozole, although I wish I had. The person who ordered it said it was a little too spicy for their taste, but I thought it looked really good! The Cobb Salad was also yummy, although I did miss the bacon.
I was waaay too full for dessert, but did try a bite of the berry cheesecake. Really good, and I liked the fact it was not overly sweet.
It is student-run, so it is fun to watch them learn all the aspects of running a restaurant. With this in mind, allow plenty of time - we had a very relaxed lunch - all three courses took 1 hour 45 minutes.
The menu changes each quarter with a new group of students. It's fun to see the students at work in the kitchen and serving you from the moment you walk in. The food is always tasty and offers a nice chose in all the options from appetizers to dessert. We meet as work colleagues that never get a chance to talk and share. We shared appetizers, and desserts. The students work so hard to make your experience the best. The tips go towards scholarships so that the "hands on" learning can continue. Learn by doing.... the Cal Poly motto is certainly carried out here.
The food is very good but the experience trumps even the cuisine. The entire restaurant is run by students at Cal Poly Pomona. They pay great attention to detail, as well as to their patrons. Having been before, I took several first timers and they too were raving about the restaurant by night's end.
im a former collins student so i know that dining at the rkr is always going to be a unique experience. the food was amazing, excellently prepared, and our server was friendly and accommodating. i know its cheating a little to know the inner workings of the restaurant but im really proud of our hospitality program. it was a wonderful evening and i got to share the experience with a non-collins college student who loved everything and hopes to come back again soon!
We attend an annual calligraphy conference at the Kellogg Center and chose the Restaurant for a change in venue. The students that staff the facility are anxious for the patrons to have an optimal dining experience. Food is quite a good value, and staff works hard to accommodate our tastes.
I really enjoyed myself. The service was outstanding: very attentive and friendly. The food was tasty and was delivered in a timely manner. My only 2 complaints were that the chicken on my Beet Salad had a lot of skin and a little bit of gristle, and the chocolate cake was a little dry in my Blood Orange Chocolate Cake.
Student run and managed at Cal Poly Pomona's hospitality college - very impressed with the quality of the food considering the students do everything. Would be a great place to bring kids/teens to for them to see other career options you can study in college.
The concept is unique and very cool. It's on the campus of CalPolyPomona, it's run by students from start to finish. Growing the food, harvesting, preparing and serving. Nice atmosphere and view and the service was excellent! The food isn't great, but it's good and overall they are doing a great job!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. It was my first time eating at this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone I meet.
