About Restaurant Alma
Opened in 1999, Restaurant Alma is a casual fine dining restaurant, offering eclectic American cuisine and warm hospitality in a rustic historically preserved building. A high, open beam ceiling, exposed brick columns and concrete floors display the original space, while an open kitchen, banquette seating and gentle lighting contribute to an intimate and contemporary feel.
Alma is best known for sourcing the best quality seasonal ingredients available and features a high percentage of local and organic products. Our menu changes every six to eight weeks, offering both new and signature dishes. We feature both a three course tasting menu format, allowing the customer to select any three dishes from the menu for $59 and a la carte options.
Alma has been awarded 4 stars by the StarTribune and shares the #1 food ranking in ZAGAT for Minneapolis/St. Paul

Restaurant Alma Ratings and Reviews
We had an amazing meal for our anniversary! Even better recommendations from our waiter Dain. He was the best!
I haven't been to Restaurant Alma for many years and coming back was a treat! Wish it were easier to get into and could handle a 6 top easier, however, it won't stop me from coming back again and again!
Given the never-ending options in the cities and the fact that we don't eat out more than a few times per month, this is one of the few restaurants that we return to again and again when we want to relax, be pampered, and enjoy amazing food. I value the commitment to local and sustainable agriculture.
Alma has amazing service, cocktails, and food every time we visit. The rotating menu offers something seasonal and interesting every time. Alma is consistently the best dining experience in the Twin Cities and is amongst the best restaurants in the country.
This restaurant stands far above any other. This is not just a restaurant, it is an experience! The dishes are extraordinary like nothing ever done before! The menu items are unique with many layers of flavors. The staff is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. I could go on and on. If you are a foodie this place is a MUST!
Food, service and ambience were all perfect!! Our server Dain was perhaps the best server we have ever had—super attentive and knew exactly what we wanted when even we didn’t know. The wine pairings were fantastic and the food is definitely some of the best in Minneapolis. We will definitely be going back.
We had an amazing meal here for our 20th wedding anniversary, after having first been here for our 10th. Everything we ate or drank - from the olives and cheese nibbles to the bread and butter to the meal and the wine - were delicious. The server knew a lot about the menu and ingredients and made some good recommendations. We opted for a dessert from the cafe' instead of from the menu and it was the perfect thing to top off a wonderful meal.
We love Alma. We have always had a very good experience dining there. The staff is wonderful and the food is (for me) an adventure and always very, very good; and the presentation is also appealing. Every one at Alma acts like our dining experience is important and the result has always been a wonderful dining experience.
Great ambiance and service here. I ate off the vegetarian menu and found everything to be tasty if not rich. I think a lot of the vegetarian options were very rich and could have used more variety in flavors. Having said that, they were all individually good. They just maybe didn't make a great sequence.
Dinner was overall good - we had the crudo and squid dish to start, very light and delicious. The lobster ricotta gnocchi was so yummy with a perfect balance of rich sauce! The pheasant was perfectly cooked! The sea scallops were the star of the night with an amazing aioli
Amazing. There is the slightly more casual cafe and then the restaurant. We went to the restaurant where it was a fixed price 3 course dinner. 59 for the food. 25 for wine pairings or bottles available. The food was amazing. My second course was ricotta gnocchi with lobster. Omg. Heaven. Excellent dessert. Wonderful service. My new favorite in the twin cities.
