Overall we had a great experience at Alba. The food was delicious from appetizers to entrees and really good selection of wines. The only comment I have on improvement is that we thought it took longer than usual to get the appetizers out. But once the food was out we weren’t complaining about waiting for it as it was very delicious. I would highly recommend the place.
My husband and I went to Alba's to celebrate his birthday and made our reservation a couple of weeks ahead of time. Upon entering, we noticed immediately that it was very noisy. In fact, the first table the hostess suggested was next to a foursome and before we could sit down, we realized that even though the folks at that table were not exceptionally loud, there was no way that my husband and I could carry on a conversation. We requested a table in a different location and were shown to one in another room that was definitely in a quieter spot.
We placed an order for cocktails and it wasn't long before we were sipping a couple of delicious cold martinis. Our waiter (Frank) was helpful in deciding what to order for appetizers and entree. Once we placed our order, the food began to arrive and we loved it. The pastas tasted homemade and overall the food was just amazing. Maybe other nights are more quiet (we were there on a Saturday night), but due to the noise level in there, we would not go back.
Service was fantastic. We basically ordered what the waiter recommended, including the wine, and it was awesome. The grilled octopus is just spectacular, beet ravioli was perfectly light and refreshing, and the whole fish and trout delicious. Conversation was easy since the place doesn't scream with noise. The bar has great walk-up round tables. Great evening celebrating a special occasion.
Meals were good but not their usual greatness. Duck breast was over cooked, riggitoni pasta undercooked. It was obvious the A Team was not cooking. It was also a slow night so not sure why
As always, food was very good! this time, I had the Goat cheese stuffed dates as an appetizer and the Gnocchi for my main lunch dish. Both were delicious! The Tiramisu was crunchy and the sweetness was just right! No wonder why I keep coming back!
Alba was fabulous ... Delicious food & service was great.
This was my second visit to Alba. On the first I found the food to be very good. However, the food was very disappointing during a return visit. At the prices Alba charges inconsistency is not acceptable.
Always amazing! Never disappoints! We had the sea bass and swordfish. Wonderful!
The best grilled octopus I've ever had. Duck and bronzina mains were very good as well. Service was pleasant & helpful. Scene was lively and warm.
Great food at a quiet table! Beautiful experience, We can’t wait to return.
Excellent dinner. Frank was excellent. Very friendly and informative. Can't wait to go back!
Went on a Ssturday night at 7, greeted and seated promptly, nice quiet table where we could talked easily. My friend had soup special and the pasta special while I had the grilled lettuce salad and the spaghetti w/shrimp. All the food was very good although I thought my salad dressing had to much garlic. We thought the wines by the glass offered many interesting choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and we look forwards to returning. I would definetly recommend it to a friend.
Excellent, fresh farm to table food with unique dishes and good drinks.
Make a reservation on Saturday nights (not sure how busy they are on other nights.)
Alba is always good food and great service!
Food was awful. Pork dish could not be classified as food. Needed a chainsaw to cut it. I have been here before and never had a bad meal until now. No fish available that night, no wait, no food available that night. Note to the owner when you are having a bad night close the doors.
We have been coming here for years. The waitstaff is very professional, service is excellent, the dishes are delicious and creative spins on Italian from the Piedmont region. The menu evolves over time so on your next visit you can count on at least a few new surprises. Amatrciana with pork belly had rich savory flavor and a spicy kick, bucatini with pork shank was tender and delicious. Always look for their bread pudding dessert, especially if they do a special version. A true gem in the heart of Malvern.
The food here was ok but the portions were very small for the money. One slice of the bruschetta was $5 and the beet salad was barely enough for one person. The sea bass had bones and was also small. The wine was nice but also overpriced. For $70 /person I will go elsewhere. Very disappointed
Always good. Like the seasonal menu change to keep it fresh experience. Exceptional quality and service.
First time and was really impressed by the atmosphere and service. Drinks and Italian inspired wine list are very good. We shared a sweet potato salad, with a spicy yogurt dressing, great combination of flavors. I had the lamb rage pasta appetizer portion which was solid if not spectacular. My wife had the rigatoni which she liked very much, I had the pork shank, which was a crusty pork dish with polenta and broccoli rabe, I liked it though thought it tasted a little chewy. We passed on desserts. Drinks include a good Bellini, a good rye old fashioned, and a glass of Grenache, all very good. All in all a good meal, will be back to try some different entries next time.
As always, Restaurant Alba never fails to please. We had an excellent meal.
Always good. Have never been disappointed. A bit pricey or we'd go more often.
Amazing as always!! Food was so good. Drinks were delicious. Cannot wait to go back!
Great place. Service good. Food fine. Duck a little short. Overall experience great. The time restriction on how long one can stay given the prices is a bit brash as it prohibits after dinner drinks, and tastings, and possibly additionall ordering.
Great food! very accommodating to substitutions. We tend to avoid Italian cuisine as we are on a low carb diet, but the options did not present a challenge to us for dining in a pleasurable, non guilty manner.
I highly recommend it as a gem in the Malvern area!
Prosciutto was outstanding. Pastas were very good. Service very accommodating, and wine choices were good and tasting presented if desired. A bit pricy. Convenient parking.
Lovely anniversary dinner at Alba. Delicious food, tremendous service and cozy ambiance.
Alba never disappoints. Superior food and service. A lovely way to dine with friends.
Amazing food, great service
Bartender was fantastic prior to being seated
Sommelier Frank was excellent
Everyone enjoyed their meal, except me. My first course of gnocchi’s was so hot (spicy), I had to send it back. Then offered another fish with plain sauce. Then my rack of lamb was marbled with fat. I tried to eat around it. Never had a rack like that. Won’t order it at Alba again.
Alba never disappoints. Excellent
Enjoy introducing new people to Alba, it is always a great experience.
As much as I wanted to like Restaraunt Alba it was truly not up to par for the price point. The food that I ordered did not reflect the ingredients in the description and everything on the table was quite bland for my palate.
We love Alba! Our server was fantastic and knowledgable!
I have been to Alba many times, but this was my first time as a vegan. They could not have made me feel more welcome, been more attentive, or had more interesting and delicious food prepared for me. The rest of our party does not have special dietary requirements, and they loved everything. The service was exceptionally good.
Awesome as usual
Food was amazing, service was top notch, would highly recommend.
Excellent food with very good service. We are repeat customers. However, we would choose a more quiet part of the restaurant.
This restaurant never disappoints. We drive for 45 minutes to reach it and if it were closer we would be there once a week.
Very nice wine list & the bartender really knows how to craft a cocktail! Good food, but the olive oil was rancid.
My meal was like eating leftovers. I ordered the suckling pig. It tasted like it was cooked 3-4 days before. The server asked if I wanted something else but I had already eaten 60% and was getting full. The entrée was deducted from the bill...Thank you.
Over the past several years I've been there 3 times and each time dissatisfied. Therefore not a frequent customer. Hope springs eternal...
