Great food. Great service.
The menu was brief. The Cesar salad could have come from a bag, too many croutons, bottled dressing, no Parmesan cheese - you get the picture. The place felt eerie because of the high ceilings and lack of patrons. I can not recommend the food or the atmosphere.
Fully embraced COVID practices and offered thoughtful, courteous, and prompt service - safely and distanced!
Our server made helpful suggestions and was well versed with the ingredients and preparation. We will be back! Probably the TOP all around received in Duluth.
3 items on the dinner menu, and you were out of one of those (the steak).
hardly the selection one might expect at a good resturant
Our corner table was drafty, and the dinning area was not inviting
I had the wild game platter as my entre, and it was once again very good, but the over
experience was quite disappointing
Service was great, food was average, server was friendly. Small eating area and overall a cute place. Definitely recommend the spinach artichoke dip!
My daughter and I ate at 311 for eat downtown. The clam chowder soup was phenomenal. The chicken Tetrazini was so amazing. The Tiramasu was tasty. The whole experience was awesome.
A wonderful menu. Everything was cooked perfectly, and tasted delightful. The seafood curry was especially delicious!
301 has great ambience, excellent food and service.
Good food and atmosphere, but pricey for the area and other options. Seating near the entrance so there was a rush of cold air when the hotel entrance door opened.
Perfect 5 course Valentine's meal with excellent service and fine ambiance.
Good service and a attentive waiter, would of like Brunch but new that it would be lunch
Can't get much worse than this place. Terribly slow service and mediocre food - most of which we did not eat. When we were seated we waited for 20 minutes without being recognized - finally we flagged a waitress down to ask who our server was. Guessing it was herself, she asked if we were ready to order. We had yet to see menus. Waiting for the menus was another 10 minutes... and the rest of the experience went on like this. Will definitely not be back... Duluth has much better to offer.
The special menu for the theater performance was excellent
The service was very good, food was excellent, and the old world atmosphere was wonderful. Will be back
We enjoy this cozy spot. We love watching the traffic on the street and appreciate the casual elegance. The food is always good and the service is better than most places.
We ate here and were the only guests. The food was undercooked ( practically raw vegetables) with over peppered seasoning on the meal and vegetables. It was like a thick peppercorn crust, very unpleasant.
Had a great time and dinner with my wife there, unique menu with excellent choices. Service was wonderful, very attentive but not obtrusive. Great location being just a short walk from both the Norshor and Zeitgeist theatres.
The food was really mediocre and way overpriced for the poor quality. The salmon was really blah and overdone. I can make better salmon. Service was great though.
Hard to believe this was rated one of Duluth's best. I feel sorry for Duluth if that's the case. The restaurant was open to the bar and lobby of the Sheraton hotel. The shrieks of drunken hotel guests was a fitting background to the overpriced food and mediocre wine. No specials, no regional food, no salad with the main course. No vegetables with the entree. Really disappointing in all ways.
Good food, great service.
Service was a little slow, took about 20 mins for waitress to take our order but the food came out quickly and was delicious!
Great food. Service is excellent. The atmosphere is cozy with an urban vibe. Easy parking and access to the historic Norshor Theater by skywalk or the entertainment district and Lakewalk by sidewalk.
It falls short of what it’s trying to be, an upscale dinning experience. The wait staff is always new, the food is served fast food style, i.e. I’d like to finish a dish before the next is presented. Wine was expensive, $15 a glass or $60 the bottle, roughly the same price. Preparation, taste and presentation are much better than the actual serving. For the price I expect a much higher quality of service.
The food was good but not great for the cost of meals. The service was poor and we were the only people in the restaurant. We sat with empty glasses for at 15 minutes until I went up to the bar and ordered drinks myself. Our waitress was standing there and never even apologized.
I was very pleased with my experience at Restaurant 301. The service and food was excellent.
This service experience was so underwhelming that I am saddened to write this review. The timing on our courses was so inept that I truly wonder why this server was hired. The appetizer was set down and before we knew it, the soup course was set on the table awkwardly because she was looking for a place to put it. And while we are trying to finish the app course, mind you the soup is still sitting on the table untouched, she brought the entree's which ended up sitting on a tray placed several feet from our table because there was no room on the table due to the previous courses not being cleared. PLEASE, what is the reasoning on this procedure?? She asked if she should return the entree' to the kitchen to be kept warm. Honestly, this was a disaster from the get go.
Delicious meal. Would definitely go back.
The menu is different so you need to be in the mood! Our servers were excellent, the squash with apples was to dead for. Good selection of wines
Eat Downtown, pre fixe menu.
Food is prepared with so much spice I can’t tell what I’m eating
Reasonable portions well prepared and presented. Service was good but not exceptionable.
I liked the intimacy and elegance of the dining area looking out on Superior Street. We were disappointed with the appetizer soup and salads.
We went on our anniversary and the service was great! I ordered salmon over pasta and the salmon was excellent! I asked to have the greens removed from my pasta so maybe that’s why there was little flavor in the sauce. The soup was excellent as well. We got a comped dessert as it was our anniversary and it was half priced bottled wine night (Thurs) so that was a plus. I would definitely return as other menu items were also appealing.
As noted in my ranking all was very good. Although one odd thing occurred. I indicated on Open Table that it was a celebration dinner for our wedding anniversary (50). There was no knowledge of this on their part. Upon learning of this they apologized profusely and provided us prosecco for a toast. Also gratis dessert which we shared. Their efforts more than made up for the slight.
Josh was a great bartender and had good TV suggestions.
We would not go back to this restaurant. My husband's entree of chicken was fairly good, but mine, a reuben sandwich was the worst I have ever had. It tasted okay, but was so tough it was more like jerky! We started with French onion soup, which was pretty bad. It was made of underdone onions in a very weak broth. There were no croutons or cheese--not what you would expect. My husband asked for a glass for his beer, which the waiter forgot. He had to ask again. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. I asked the waiter to pass on my comments to the chef. He said he would, but there was no apology for the glass request nor the mediocre food or service. A proper restaurant would have at least comped the soup.
I enjoy meals I can not get elsewhere and a quite surroundings.
Despite the mixed reviews, my husband and I decided to give this place a try for our anniversary dinner. The dining room is beautiful, but it is adjacent to the bar, which had a couple televisions going-not ideal for a romantic dinner. I chose the surf & turf-the bacon wrapped filet was delicious, but I was disappointed that my plate had only ONE scallop on it. My husband said his steak was not good quality. The server tried his best, but seemed not to have received adequate training to work in what is portrayed as a fine-dining restaurant. I really wanted to like this place, but the food, service, and ambiance were definitely not worth the price. If you decide to go, try the prix fixe menu (much more reasonably priced).
The food tasted good, but there are so many preservatives used that I was sick all the next day.
We had a reservation for 6:15; we ordered right away, but we didn't get our main course until 7:20. It was far too long a wait. The food was just okay.
