We really enjoyed the setting, the food and the service! It was a lovely place to be with friends and enjoy nice food and wine.
Lovely table by the fireplace. Waiter was attentive but not overbearing. Food was delicious-
It was wonderful! The food was delicious and beautifully presented as usual and the service was excellent!
We came to try something new for restaurant week.. we heard the property was beautiful but the restaurant didn’t really impress. It was pretty bright and plain and the chairs and tables seemed like outdoor furniture and not a very warm and comforting dining experience. I guess people go for the views which we didn’t get because It was dark. Nothing to write home about in our opinion
Secondly, our waitress was very nice and accommodating but It took FOREVER to get our food and drink. Forever. We were there for 3 hours for restaurant week when we ordered everything up front. No need to wait an hour in between each of the 3 courses. Luckily we had a bottle of wine where we could pour ourselves because It took a very long time to get a cocktail or single glass of wine.
Lastly, the food was decent. The mussels and empanada were actually very good. The short rib was pretty blah. And was pretty expensive for the quality even with restaurant week. Not worth the drive itself for dinner.
We went during restaurant week so I imagine it was a little busier than usual which would explain the slower service. We each chose from three courses. The portions were huge. We each chose a different first course and were very impressed by the size of the appetizers and the taste. For our second course three out of four of our party chose the short rib. It was a very large piece of tender meat but it was very very bland. We actually requested salt to try give it some taste. The blandness was the same for all three of us so it definitely wasn't a fluke. The desserts were good. The portions were just right but nothing overly wowed us.
I live close to the restaurant and love having options up here but this was my third and final try.
Was just what we were looking for a celebration! The food was thoughtfully prepared, presented & delicious (Seared Duck & Scallops)! Dessert was decadent (Chocolate Pate). The service was excellent. Highly recommend!
Comfortable, relaxing, understated elegance.
Nice restaurant. Pretty locale. Food was good but bar was not adequately stocked. I would recommend but warn that the ambience is lacking in warmth.
We used to go to restaurant 17 at least once a month. It was one of the best restaurants in the area. Originally from France, it was one of the places where we could have really great food just lime home. That until last week, the day after Christmas. The food was absolutely horrible. The tomato soup was tasteless, the burger was way overcooked and dry, even the bacon and french fries were overcooked, After one bite, we changed it for the ribeye, which came out as dry and overcooked as everything else. I sent it back too and we left with an empty stomach. Very disappointed. We were a party of seven, most of our guests from Paris, and that was one of the worst food we’ve ever had. They will never see us again. I am almost positive that the regular cook was in vacation, even though they claimed it was not the case. My guess is one of the waiter or maybe the handyman did the cooking.
The service was exceptional tonight with the waitress we had. Thank you.
Went here for a birthday date night and had a wonderful time! We were here on a Tuesday and in the two hours we were there alone with the exception of one couple. The food was great but the risotto needed salt. The half price bottle of wine was a great deal and the birthday surprise was nice. I’d highly recommend for any occasion!
Nice location and beautiful view. The waiter and service was great but the fools wasn’t as food as I expected.
I am getting married here next month and am so excited to share this amazing food with everyone. Chef Haydn is so talented and we got to enjoy a great assortment from the Fall menu with the most stunning view. The wine list is stellar and the servers are all wonderful!
We went early on a weeknight, and had excellent service throughout the evening. The server pointed us toward to a couple of special dishes and I’m glad I took her suggestion to order a locally sourced pork chop with seasonal vegetables. Completely delicious and memorable. My husband had the red snapper, which he thought fine, but not exceptional. We had similar feelings about the cobbler dessert. However, the beauty of the restaurant and the nicely paced service made it an overall great experience. Note: I gave it high marks for quietness, but there few tables filled when were there.
This restaurant is a true hidden gem. The views are amazing and the service is above standard. The wine and food recommended by the wait staff was exactly what I was looking for.
Outstanding as always! Great service from Robert and his team, delicious food and beautiful scenery.
Food, service and ambience were excellent. We had a great time.
Very good restaurant. Our second time. We will definitely return with friends. Our only complaint was the noise of chairs moving on the floor upstairs. Food and service was excellent! Thank you
Enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio overlooking the pool with hills and vineyard in the background. Food was excellent with normal size portions. Nice wine/drink selection.
We had a wonderful meal and experience at Restaurant 17! Highly recommend!
Always amazing food and incredible ambiance at Restaurant 17! The staff is very friendly and often remembers details from your last visit. I had the peach salad and mussels small plates and it was plenty for one person as a post-bike ride dinner!
The price to quality ratio is too high. The restaurant is a lovely setting and is truly something special. I’m just not sure this place has decided what it wants to be. We loved the farm to table commitment but the dishes simply were not memorable. My recommendation would be strive for some show-stopper dishes and focus on the quality of every single bite.
Very good food. We started out with the deviled eggs, which were quite tasty. I had a melon salad and shrimp and grits “small plate”, which was a bigger portion than I expected (but I still ate it all!) Both were very good. My wife had the flank steak, which was cooked just right. We ended by splitting the peach crisp for dessert, which was a very fine meal ender. Really good food; the only knock I have is that I wish the menu changed more often than it does.
Even though it had a modern decor, it had a warm ambience. The music was invasive, but the waitress accommodated me by turning the volume down. Music was not appropriate for the type of atmosphere. Service was excellent and the food delicious. Most of the patrons wore business casual attire, several women wore summer dresses, some of the men wore sport coats so my question is why does the manager, hostess, and wait staff wear jeans?
I loved the view of the trees in the mountains, but didn’t appreciate the poolside view. You may want to put greenery (shrubs, planters) to block this view.
I went in early July and fell in love with the hotel and restaurant. I set up a reservation for my parents’ anniversary and they loved it as well.
Delightful evening overlooking beautiful mountain view’s accompanied with excellent wine selections and freshly presented, delicious meals. Excellent service.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and stellar views!
Main waiter disappeared after the food was ordered. Mussels served were half closed, steak had no seasoning and chocolate torte was burnt.
Overpriced for average quality We will likely not go back for a while. Too bad. The venue is quite nice.
Very loud. The scallops were amazing. The trout was okay. One of the desserts was peach cobbler and was brought out cold. They corrected it and brought out a fresh one. I had been wanting to try Restaurant 17 for awhile and had high expectations but they didn’t deliver.
Way too loud for my taste, service great, food excellent, but the noise!
Awesome Restaurant Week experience!
Great atmosphere and food. Would like to try it again.
We were there for the restaurant week. Food quality and quantity was excellent. You have a very beautiful location but lacks in ambiance.
Robert, our server saved the day, he was great! We were immediately turned off due to the lack of service at the bar when we wanted to sit and have a drink first. After 10 minutes of not being acknowledged we decided to take a seat at our table. The food was delicious, only complaint was how quickly our 3 course meal was served, but it was restaurant week. The dessert stole the show, best part of the meal, hands down, besides the beautiful view!
Was a great evening with future family in law. Food was fantastic & wine was fantastic. Whole experience was great until we left when there was a shirtless man who appeared to be very inebriated & disgruntled. Would’ve loved more notice and precaution from the restaurant as this occurred right outside their entrance.
We were there for restaurant week because of the variety of choices. My husband had the empanada appetizer which was OK. I had the mussels which were great. Then came entrees... his game hen wasn’t cooked through and the fried polenta cake was soggy and purple! my duck confit was the most unappealing plate I have seen. The duck was over cooked (maybe left over?) and rested on a plate of brown stuff. Dessert was passable.
They did comp our drinks, but we will not return.
Wonderful variety of small plates and entree’s with lovely presentation and warm and friendly service. We will be back!
Wide menu choices and great wine selection. Our dinners were delicious and the service was exceptional. We will be returning soon.
The atmosphere was like a 2nd rate country club . the view was of the pool. At one point , ayoung boy walked through the dining room with only wet swimming trunks dripping water and the noise from the pool was distracting. The food was outstanding except for the dessert. The chef is very creative .Sit upstairs if you go
