We booked late in the day on a Friday and were seated in the dining room area vs the bar area which is a bit noisy with the live music (though nice if you are there to listen vs trying to talk over it ). The dining room was very pleasant and we could hear the soft jazz in the next room. Great service and a surprisingly good fixed menu for a very reasonable $37. Wine menu was good and affordable as well. Overall a great value.
We went there for Valentine’s Day and it did not disappoint. In fact, we went back the next day for a late breakfast! Both meals were outstanding and the service was amazing. Our bartender Megan made us feel very at home. I would recommend to anyone.
Had a great meal. Wonderful wait staff. Just too loud with music to carry on any conversation.
Very good food, excellent location in the Old City o Quebec.
Thomas took great care of us. Food and service were outstanding. Would definitively eat there again.
I made reservations for 12/31 for lunch. No one seemed to know about the reservation. After some discussion, the hostess, a snooty girl if I ever saw one, tried to seat my husband and me in the Bistro section, while we expected to be seated in the restaurant area. She would not let go and tried to convince us against all reason that the two areas are the same. Compare high school cafeteria area to white linen restaurant area and you get the picture that the two are not alike at all.
It took three attempts on her side and three refusals on ours to be finally seated in the restaurant area. Then the menu turned out to be a very limited bvasically quick menu items. When you see their web site, they serve beautiful dishes and it says nowhere that these are not available during lunch. Overall, a great disappointment with very mediocre food.
Atmosphere, food and service all very good. Will definitely be back.
We came here for Xmas eve meal and all chose from the prix fixe menu. The food was plentiful and fresh with creative presentations of Quebecois cuisine and the service was attentive. Drinks and wine were all very nice as well. They had live Xmas music as well which made the evening even more festive. Very enjoyable. Recommended.
Would highly recommend.
Seated quickly, attentive waiter, excellent food, nice atmosphere.
All around excellent.
Quiet location, beautifully prepared and presented food. We had a reservation but they accommodated our request to dine earlier when we finished at the Christmas Market. Service was attentive, friendly but not intrusive. Would definitely return.
Food and service were fantastic! One table near us was extremely loud, pounding the table and yelling the whole time we were there. Outstanding restaurant though. Highly recommend!
Great Location. Good food. We were served by a very nice young man. Had the special. Onion soup was amazing actually. My bavette de beouf was not so nice. Still with more local fare.
Recommended by a friend.. In the heart of the old area.. Great food.
Excellent restaurant. Will be going back for sure.
Great meal. Pork chop, filet, seafood pasta, meat and cheese board were all perfect. Would recommend this restaurant on trip to Quebec City.
Great Location....quick service....and beautiful presentation and good food.
Great overall experience! Ambiance was on point, live jazz music but never felt too loud, food was great! We chose the pre-fix menu, which seemed to give a lot of value to the money you spent. We would go back!
My husband and I had a lovely 35th anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic. The salmon was prepared perfectly, good beer and wine. The live music was a special touch. Things seemed to get busy when a cruise ship group arrived so highly recommend making reservations. Great location.
We were on vacation in Quebec City. Enjoyed our brunch thoroughly and were seated outside with no wait on a Sunday morning.
Great food and service. Get the French Onion Soup .
Onge was our waiter. He served us a delicious Cesar Salad for two prepare by him at our table. Our Chateaubriand fir also was suberb. Thus is our second time at thus wonderful and friendly restaurant. We will return.
The restaurant didn't honor our reservation, not because it was a mistake but they generally don't do that if you don't make the reservation a day or two in advance! Didn't help that I had a confirmation from them! No real apology, they couldn't care less. They are always busy anyway, all their patrons are tourists who don't come back anyway. Not recommended!
I visited the restaurant 22 years ago and it was superb. Still consider it one of the best meals i ever had and i've been to a lot of prestigious places in Europe and New York. But now, they are cutting the cost big time. Disposable paper napkins that look like fabric? Really???
My husband ordered file Mignon and they served him rib eye or whatever the hell it was. It definitely wasn't file mignon. Chocholate cone had undissolved sugar in it which made it impossible to eat. Overall, a big disappointment.
Great location near Hotel Frontenac and stairs leading to Basse Ville (lower old city). Food was good, live music was fun( if a bit tacky), and atmosphere was fun. Reasonably priced for the area.
Excellent souper, nourriture excellente, ambiance agréable.
Great service and delicious food. My relatives and I thought it was wonderful. Such a setting, too, in view of the Chateau Frontenac.
The food was amazing! Our waiter Simon was friendly and too great care of us. We enjoyed the music and ambiance as well!
Wonderful dining experience. Live jazz music near our table was delightful. One of the best dining experiences we've ever had.
Mediocre at the best. We did not enjoy the food at all.
Lovely experience at this well-established restaurant in old Quebec. Made a last minute booking and got a great table in a quiet corner. Restaurant was busy but didn't impede the ambience of the place. Food was excellent traditional French cuisine, nicely presented. Duck confit was delicious and the lamb shank perfectly cooked. Wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service, tasty meal
Excellent service with good food and a convenient location by the Frontenac. The kids meal is a great value and the fixed price menu is pretty good too. Accordion player in the restaurant provided entertainment.
Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meals, our waiter and the ambiance. Thank you. If ever we return to Quebec we will certainly be back!!
Stay away from this restaurant. We went for a family dinner while on a vacation. At the start, my drink was wrong and had to be sent back. The replacement drink took 10 minutes to arrive. The appetizer portions were minuscule and mostly tasteless. The restaurant was busy with tourists so we didn't think much when dinner seemed delayed after the appetizers. However, when I noticed the restaurant had nearly emptied, and we'd been sitting for almost two hours, I stood up to find our waiter who said oops there had been a mixup and our food would be arriving shortly. When the food finally arrived, it was awful. Three of us had pork. The dishes had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. The meat was mealy and tasteless. The pork was so dry that I had to ask for another drink which, not surprisingly, didn't come until I had to stand up and get it 15 minutes later. The fourth dish ordered was a chicken dish that I'm not sure had much in the way of chicken hidden in a plateful of lettuce. We had to get more food later for that diner. Our plates were gathered up before we were truly done eating because there was no one left in the restaurant and the staff clearly wanted to go home. The dessert that came with a fixed price meal was uninspired and made at least the day before. At the end, we had to get up to find someone so we could pay the overpriced bill because they ignored my card sitting on the check. I can't state too strongly that this establishment is just a sham operation and a gross tourist trap posing as moderate dining.
Food was great
This restaurant looks touristy with a big umbrellas over outdoor tables in the middle of Old Quebec. But if you step inside a different experience awaits. I ordered grilled ceasar salad and lamb shank. Delicious. Every member of my party raved about their choice.
My wife and I enjoyed breakfast before heading back to the states. Great service and food.
