   We arrived a few minutes early for our 6:00 reservation and were pleased to see that the staff was totally prepared and geared up for the crowd that would be attending Songs of Good Cheer at the Old Town School of Music at 7:30. We were served at a pace that had us done and satisfied in plenty of time for the performance and yet we never felt rushed. Hats off to all who made it happen! A memorable meal on a wonderful holiday evening!

   Saturday was my husband's birthday and I had made the reservation three weeks in advance because I knew it would be crowded. To our great disappointment, we were taken to the worst table in the place - small and out in the middle of the main floor behind the seated bar patrons, with servers and guests constantly pushing by both sides of our table. We ditched any ideas of ordering a bottle of wine and lingering over the finer entrees. We just ordered burgers and decided to resume our romantic evening at a different place. This isn't the first time something comparable has happened at Bistro Campagne. It's definitely hit or miss in terms of feeling like the experience as a whole is worth it. If you're looking for a place for a special celebration, be aware that it could go either way at this restaurant. We've had occasions when everything was great too, but not this time.

   Definitely not what it used to be, sadly. It was one of my favorite restaurants in the city but the last time I went back it had slipped so didn't go for the past year but then decided to give it another try. Still love the ambiance and our server was very nice. However the bread wasn't as good as it used to be and the halibut special was overcooked. The steak frites that used to be outstanding was just ok with kind of mushy fries. The pumpkin creme brulee desert was also just ok- I have had outstanding pumpkin creme brulee in the past and this was not it. Unlikely that I'll go back.

   Everything about this Bistro was fantastic. We had a combination of apps and entrees that include beef and fish and all were prepared perfectly. The hanger steak frites were among the best I’ve had. The dining room is charming. The service friendly and attentive and the wine list was ample to cover any menu pairing. I will definitely return.

   Lackluster food at downtown prices. It had been many years since we dined here and it will be many more before we return. So many better French restaurants. The special pear salad was skimpy. The special halibut was just ok. The filet came with overcooked fries.

   Bistro Campagne is a lovely French restaurant. I've gone many times over the years and it is always delicious! I was just there for brunch - a friend and I split the quiche and french toast - both were wonderful!

   The meal exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Our server Mel, was very gracious and offered spot on food and wine suggestions. My wife and I shared a bowl of potato leek soup and a roasted beet and burrata salad for starters followed by the Halibut and Lentil special for my wife and the Cassoulet for me, both were beyond delicious. We shared the Pain Perdu (bread pudding) for dessert which was fantastic. This was our first dining experience at Bistro Campagne and I can assure you it will become a permanent part of our dining favorites.

   We were disappointed that the pork chop came out well over cooked! Wait and management didn’t seem to care much “we will let the kitchen know”. Service was average.

    Wonderful atmosphere very good food and excellent service. The wait staff had a glass of dry proseco waiting for us because we told them it was our anniversary. Wednesday night's a three course prefix menu for $36. Highly recommend!
