The Majestic se ha renovado, con el chef ejecutivo y propietario Gaby Hakman al mando, con menús variados y de temporada con abundantes verduras y proteínas, para el almuerzo, la cena y el brunch del fin de semana. Hakman ha creado selecciones contemporáneas de estilo bistro estadounidense con platillos de ingredientes acompañados de aceite de oliva de calidad, hierbas, ajo y otras influencias que reflejan su paladar mediterráneo.                                                                     We were looking for a place for a large group to eat in Old Town Alexandria. We wanted a big variety on the menu and also a place that did not charge 20% for a table of six or more and would also give us separate checks. This place was terrific! It hit all our wishes -and the food was delicious! Neat atmosphere - and fun history too.

                                                                    The food is great, but the music they played in the restaurant was too loud and seemed like a wrong fit for the Majestic. Some music felt like dance club music. We debated saying something when the manager came by but didn’t want to complain. It was challenging to have a conversation with friends we haven’t seen in a while. That being said, the food was fantastic and our server was excellent.

                                                                    The only criticism is the space is a bit dark, but otherwise, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The hanger steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and the kale salad was very tasty. My fellow diners enjoyed the lambchops and the beef tartar. There were staff checking the food presentation as it was plated and it was quickly delivered to the table. There was also a manager walking around ensuring great service. This is a well-run and professional restaurant, and we cannot wait to dine there again. Great experience!

                                                                    We were visiting for a birthday celebration so we were particularly disappointed last night. Perhaps it was an off night - even though the restaurant was not full. Sadly, every step of the process was slow - ordering drinks and food, receiving drinks and food, rectifying problems. Nothing was paced as a meal should be paced. Cocktails took about 15 minutes to arrive. Appetizers for the table did not come together. Two main meals arrived at the same time and we waited for the last three meals for 10 minutes. One was the filet mignon which arrived well done (ordered medium rare) and cold. It was remade delaying this patron’s meal by another 5 minutes. We struggled to seek out the kind waitress many times to ask for support and she was hard to find yet she was there to try and clear the table before we had even had our second (delayed) appetizer. No explanation was provided all night. No apology for this uncoordinated service and kitchen effort. The food was good but the experience of dining was very poor. We decided to have dessert elsewhere. Like I said perhaps it was an off night, but we expected much more from the Majestic.
