    I visited Deauville for the first time last Saturday, and had high hopes for a great night. When I made the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday and kindly asked if they could make it a little special, something simple like a dessert or small gesture. Unfortunately, nothing was acknowledged throughout the evening. No birthday mention, no effort, just business as usual. It was disappointing, especially since I took the time to make the request in advance and was really looking forward to making the moment feel special for him. The food itself was fine, but the lack of attention to detail and care around a small but meaningful request really took away from the experience. If you’re looking to celebrate something special, this may not be the most thoughtful spot.
