Great for gluten free folks. I have celiac and they only use corn, rice and chickpeas in their batter so I could have fried fish. Tom’s of gf options.

My husband and I enjoyed our meal last night Legal Sea Foods - Downtown Crossing. I had made a reservation for 6pm and we were seated immediately in the front of the restaurant. Our server was the only employee for the entire area and he did an excellent job overall. We both ordered cod: mine was the loin seared with 2 sides. My husband's was the cod special. I was surprised that we had to ask for rolls and was told that it depends on how busy it is. Both of us would order the dish again. We had tickets for the Paul Simon concert at the Wang theatre so this was a perfect spot to walk to our destination. I have eaten at multiple Legal Sea Foods, and always have a good experience. The Downtown Crossing site is always my first choice for before theatre. I recommend a reservation because I have been turned away during busy times. My server did not tell me his name, but he did a good job given the number of tables he was assigned. Sincerely, Jill Brandwein-Fryar

Chicken was dry and inedible. Service was slow. The people next to us both sent their steaks back. Something isn’t right at this Legal location.

I ordered a starter and a main, and they both came together, so the main was getting cold by the time I got to it. I ordered a cocktail when I arrived, but was told when the food arrived that they didn’t have the right ingredients. So, I ordered some wine which didn’t arrive until I was half way through my main. The main was not great - ordered the lobster tails and it was over cooked. Finally, when I was presented the bill the waiter had left on the cocktail which I never received. All in all a subpar experience.

Lovely, friendly and welcoming service. The clam chowder, as always, is hit I had a bowl with ahi sashimi, something I've never had at Legal's, and it was delicious. We will be back.

This is my second visit here and I have yet to be impressed. The fish was overcooked in whjat seemed like old grease. Service was slow simply because they were short staff. I have had better fast food fish and fries. My wife had the poke - or what they refer to as a grain bowl. poor balance of grain to protein.

Very disappointed in Thai Peanut Salad, more than half rice noodles. Couldn't find the lettuce / cabbage underneath, 2 edamame beans. Portion was very small (half the plate) compared to companion who ordered Greek Salad, fresh green lettuce and filled the entire plate. Service was good - we ordered and ate within one hour and made it to ballet with time to spare.

Even though we live in Boston this was our first time dining at the restaurant. Overall it was disappointing as the fish (salmon and cod) was nothing special and the sides were not well prepared. The wine and salad was good and service was fine, but the main courses fell short. There are better places for seafood in Boston.
