Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson is a vibrant contemporary American restaurant from Marcus Samuelsson within the Perelman Performing Arts Center. Metropolis is the culinary anchor of this new cultural cornerstone of Lower Manhattan and is honored to play a role in the final chapter of rebuilding the World Trade Center site. Its menu explores the rich culinary traditions of New York City through a modern lens with theatrical cocktails, a fun and worldly wine list, and gracious hospitality. Designed by David Rockwell, Metropolis features a dazzling yet warmly inviting dining room and a bustling bar, a landscaped outdoor terrace, and a lobby lounge featuring free-to-the-public artistic programming.

Chef Samuelson is a genius: all his places are amazing. Ambiance was wonderful. Service was great. The dishes were unique and delicious. "Steak and eggs" which is steak tartare was really good. We liked the coconut shrimp and of course the corn bread. I really liked the crisphy fish and the asparagus side. The banana cup which they prepare in front of the table was incredible. I strongly recommend this place.

Excellent food. Food balance, flavor profiles and presentation were all 10/10. This is an exceptional place with a talented kitchen! Great service. Attentive, but never invasive. Only negative: restaurant design was a bit sterile and lacked intimacy. Overall, a wonderful experience.

We enjoyed another fantastic dinner at Metropolis following a wonderful (and free!) lobby stage performance at the PAC by the incredibly talented Maiya Blaney. As PAC members, we've dined at Metropolis many times, and it never disappoints. The menu is eclectic, and every dish we've tried has been both delicious and beautifully presented. Highlights from this visit included the crispy snapper, coconut rice, asparagus, and a show-stopping banana butterscotch pudding served tableside from a beautifully decorated cart. The ambiance is lovely, and the service is consistently warm and professional. From Ashley the bartender, to our attentive waitress Nelly and the friendly servers, the staff made us feel welcome without ever interrupting our conversation. We highly recommend Metropolis and are already looking forward to our next visit!

The mot exquisitely interior designed restaurant in NYC and, believe me, I’ve been to most of them. Dishes are among thr most creative with an eclectic nnidddlen eastern -Ethiopian vibe about it. Markus ,Samuelson is a creative genius, a culinary artist, a menu creating wizard ., in the ranks of Jean Georges or Bobby Flay.

The best part of this was seeing the YouTube from Architectural Digest about the building itself and how it was constructed, along with the chef interview. A must! Lunch was slow..it would be great just before an evening event though. Right across from the 911 memorial so super convenient. The food was excellent..the ceaser salad wasn't a large portion but the chicken leg was really spiced well. The burger was substantial and the meat was great!

The location is a little out of the way however it is worth the trek. The atmosphere is great. Mr Samuelsson was there and came by to say hello. It was great experience!

Oh my gosh, I had an incredible time at Metropolis by Marcus Sameulsson! The atmosphere was just amazing, so relaxed and fun. And the food was absolutely delicious - each flavor was so unique and tasty. But the best part of the night was definitely the staff.
