On Thursday, June 26th, Fariyal Abdullahi, Executive Chef of Hav & Mar will be bringing another installation of her series Fariyal & Friends, founded to uplift and showcase underrepresented voices in the culinary industry. Fariyal & Friends brings together chefs, beverage professionals, and creatives to celebrate diverse perspectives, foster mentorship, and create meaningful industry connections. For this collaboration she will be joining forces for a special one-night-only menu featuring Nasim Lahbichi & Jae Bae in celebration of Pride Month Nasim Lahbichi and Jae Bae are native New Yorkers who infuse their diverse and vibrant cultures into their salacious recipes and mouth-watering libations. Jae, from @Jarbae, is a mixologist and recipe developer. As a Korean American born in NY, his drinks are as eclectic as his upbringing, drawing from savory, unique, and downright experimental takes on classic cocktails. His work has been featured in Bon Appétit and he recently graced the cover of Edible Manhattan’s Spring issue. Jae hopes that his recipes shed light on the flavors that don’t often get served in a bar, to highlight the drinks that feel like new and home, all in one sip. Nasim, the creative force behind @Lahbco, is a recipe developer, soon-to-be cookbook author, and culinary innovator. Drawing from his Puerto Rican-Moroccan upbringing, he shares vibrant, multicultural recipes that celebrate flavor and heritage. His work has been featured in Food Network, I-D Magazine, and Eater, also gracing the cover of Edible Brooklyn. Through his cooking and storytelling, Nasim aims to curate welcoming spaces where folks can gain a sense of power in the kitchen and at the table—safe, seen, and truly at home, wherever they are.
